Films that were nominated for the Best Animation of the Year prize given by the Japan Academy Film Prize Association, first awarded in 2007. All five nominees are awarded the Excellent Animation of the Year (優秀アニメーション作品) by the association. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ This list contains all movies that aren't related with any anime series. (Pre 2014) These are the family based films and films can be watched together with your family. Who said your parents and sibling can't watch anime? Of course, they can too. As long it's decent XD Jokes aside, here is my collection of animes films that your family might enjoy too. Are you looking to watch something a little off the beaten path but still worth your while? I have some hidden gems for you. This interest stack has been picked from the Hidden Gems of Anime club featuring our fantasy anime movie picks! *or yokai or spirits or anything of the sort Everyone knows Studio Ghibli's amazing work, but what about the other studios? Collection of films and OVAs (and one TV series) that "feel" like Ghibli films, but aren't related to the studio and aren't connected to its canon lineup. Factors considered include story beats and character designs that are often seen in Ghibli works as well as works by Ghibli staff completed for other studios. Anime either based on, heavily influenced by or drawing key aspects from folklore. Folklore encompasses the traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, people or culture passed down through the generations by word of mouth and later often recorded in written form. Anime with yōkai—spirits from the Shinto religion and/or Japanese folklore. Popular types include kitsune (fox spirits), shape-shifting tanuki (raccoon dogs), kappa (river monsters), and oni (ogre-like demons). When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them. Exhausted Studio Ghibli's filmography but want more? These anime have a visual presentation evocative of your favorite Ghibli films, but aren't made by Ghibli themselves. AnimeChallengeby

Anime reminiscent of summer with supernatural elements. Trees, forests, deserts, oceans -- shows where the depiction of the outdoors is absolutely breathtaking! This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series List of series with a rural setting. More anime to breathe a little fresh air. |
