It's technically "superlivemation", not exactly the same as live-action+animation. Everything was digitally processed and animated, there's no "live-action" bits. Oshii did mix live-action and CGI animation in Sand Whale and Me, for example, it's not the same.
Anyway, I agree that it's a very interesting movie, did you see the "sequels"? Onna Tachiguishi Retsuden and Shin Onna Tachiguishi Retsuden. They're fully live-action, but even more obscure than this.
Kuuchuu Buranko is one of the most original series I've seen, very creative and fun. I always love whatever Kenji Nakamura directs, he's such a talented guy.
Hi there, you seem to like Oshii quite a bit, did you see his Tachiguishi Retsuden stuff? The live-action follow-ups to the animated movie, for example. It seems so obscure.
Hey, I'm not sure if you still use this. But it says you've reviewed the OVA "Eiyuu Banka Koushi-Den" I would like to know how you were able to watch it. I cannot find anything about it online.

Pro-tip: Check out Beastars if you haven't already ;)
And I'm so glad because you remembered my birthday this year too.
