fans may be familiar with ‘Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad,’ Harold Sakuishi’s long running series about a rock band. Prior to ‘Beck’s’ start in 1999, however, Sakuishi had already put out three separate series, their earlier styles almost unidentifiable to his more modern hit. In 1988, his debut work ‘Gorillaman’ began in Young Magazine, during a period when delinquent youth, or “yanki,” manga were a major subgenre within boys’ and mens’ anthologies.
like many yanki manga, it never received a TV anime adaption.Gorillaman did have an OVA.
The series opens with a tough-looking, suit-clad man walking down the street, when suddenly a bucket of water falls from a
construction site and hits the passerby flat on the head. As workmen rush to his side, we catch our first close look at the protagonist, whose facial features seem rather exaggerated. Was it a result of the accident, as I initially thought?
No, as it turns out, his face just happens to resemble that of a gorilla’s, hence the title. In fact, we quickly learn that he isn’t a salaryman or a gangster, but rather a student named Ikedo , who is transferring into Shiratake High School. Nicknamed “Gorillaman”.
Ikedo starts things off on the wrong foot just by being his usual self. He is completely mute, which frustrates faculty while making him a target of bullying among some students. While walking to his seat, Ikedo is tripped by Fujimoto, a more traditional looking yanki student who becomes a sort of secondary protagonist for the story.
The charismatic and sociable Fujimoto leads the “Fujimoto Corps,” a gang of various other fellow delinquents within the school. In many ways, Fujimoto fits the role of the goofy, good-spirited yanki protagonist,
Fujimoto tends to play the role of protagonist to a degree, with conflicts and romances centered mostly around him, while Ikedo falls into the background as seemingly just another follower.

This man is such a smart artist, with each scene having deep meaning! Here's my interpretation:
1. World Hunger: Notice how the person sees the food but can never have any of it?
2. Societies influences on females: How society wants women to be these skinny figures who eat nothing, and so when they do eat they eat in shame or guilt because they think its wrong to do so.
3. Food Waste: You see how every time a piece of the burger gets cut, it goes into the garbage?
4. Child obesity: The children worship the burger.
5. Greed: The only one that never eats is the last
person, perhaps symbolizing greed because the others never share.
6. Sort of like Greed again: Notice how only the top person gets the burger? This could symbolize how in businesses, you have so many people working and holding the structure of the company up but the only people that get anything are the people at the top (CEO).
7. Could symbolize how parents work so hard to feed their kids, and the children never realize what they have to go through.
The last one with the person watching the TV is just how corporations put things in ads to brainwash you into doing what they want you to do.

The OVA is a straightforward biography. Confucius(Confucius was one of the great philosophers of human history. He lived in the chaotic Spring and Autumn period in China, more than 2500 years ago.) himself is portrayed as a thoroughly good man whose intentions are repeatedly frustrated by the foolish rulers he attempts to serve. Beyond the main subject, the anime has an enormous number of characters, places, incidents, and ideas, crammed into 90 minutes. You can't tell the players without a program. Except for the seductive Lady Nanzi and the supremely loyal Zigong, there isn't enough time to develop any of the subordinate characters or make
them very memorable. So here are some references:
Zigond, a disciple
Zengzi, a disciple
Shuliang He, his father
Yang Hu, a vassal of the Jisun clan in Lu
Viscount of Tan, a formative influence
Yang Yin, a ruler
Zixia, a disciple.
The OVA was directed by the late Dezaki Osamu, who should need no introduction. He directed many famous anime, including Ashita no Joe and its sequel, Ace wo Nerae and its sequel, the Black Jack OVAs and movie, half a dozen Lupin III TV specials, and Kasei Yakyoku, an Orphan release. His visual trademarks - split-screen scenes, stark lighting, and detailed freeze frames that he called "Postcard Memories"- are on full display in this movie.
Eiyuu Banka Koushi-den sheds a warm and positive light on one of the great thinkers in human history, one much less well known in the west than his near contemporary, the Buddha. You can get the movie from the usual torrent site.

Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin has been one of the real hidden gems of 2019, a well-written and interesting mix of fantasy and police mystery. Anime does seem to be overrun with that shows using that basic template at the moment and most get far more attention than Mayonaka,
The subject this time around is vampires, after a corpse turns up in Shinjuku drained of all its blood with a neck wound only those with the sight can see without help. Theo as it turns out is a vampire expert specifically, so the detectives assigned to the case from “Unit Zero“, the ones who
get the cases that don’t make sense to muggles turn to him for help.
Theo has already planned to drag Arata with him to Senda’s place for New Year’s because of an Another he’s been observing there for 15 years that he’s been dying to communicate with and it turns out that Another is Japan’s last surviving vampire.
That vampire is the perp as it turns out but not by choice. Someone from Theo’s past named Saejima is using him as a means to strike out at Theo, who he apparently loathes for reasons that at first are not entirely clear.
As we’ve seen before in Mayonaka, when too many parties get involved things tend to get much messier between the humans and Anothers. And in this case that means not just Unit Zero but a sort of Another hitman named Tamao, whose job it is to take out Anothers who are targeting humans.
There’s a lot of interesting background in this story stuff like the special tattoo Saejima uses to prevent Anothers from seeing him. As it happens he’s more or less a psychopath with a special grudge against Theo, And the unfortunate vampire, whose name is Sakura as it turns out, is just a pawn in Saejima’s revenge scheme.
All in all this would rank as one of Mayonaka’s better serials, I’d say. The second episode especially is superb, full of the pathos that characterizes this sort of material at its best

This is a very old anime, and as such seems to be rather unknown and receives low ratings on anime sites, thus sinking to the bottom. (Let's be brutally honest though—this is probably mostly from younger audiences who care little for the origins of anime.)
It should also be noted that this isn't just normal hand-drawn animation, but made from cut-out pieces of paper.
The Black Cat is a record talkie from the silent film period. A record talkie was a silent film played synchronously with a phonograph record. Like today’s music videos, record talkies were designed as promotional devices for record companies
and their songs. People who enjoyed The Black Cat animation could have bought the record and played it on their own gramophone (record companies also manufactured gramophones) at home.

This episode was available on YouTube as part of a promotion for the upcoming series.
looks like a promising series based on Episode 0 However, most anime fans will be put off by the CG.
The premise is set in a futuristic world where, apparently, a card game has surpassed the popularity most popular games of our days. The card game is played in a virtual battle. There isn't much to talk about the story more than this as this is just an itroductory episode. The animation is interesting and fun. Character design manages to look fesh.
The sound design and soundtrack was easily the most attention
drawing feature of the episode. The music during one of the battle scenes was very good. Sota, the main character, is given a well enough background story.
