To clarify, the chibis were already dancing like that in the ED of Happy Lesson. I took 35 screenshots, cropped and scaled each frame into banner size, imported all of them into Gimp, then saved it as an animated .gif.
Your profile is not bad at all! I really like the design of your "about me" and likes/dislikes section. Come to think of it, I probably used your profile as one of my references in making both versions of mine.

Um... I pull the frames from an existing video by taking several screenshots per second. My video player has the option to do that, but you have to type out the commands in a script like back in the days before Windows.

The color scheme grew out from my pic. My intention was to have a neutral canvas for colors to pop. I do give out hits of red here and there, from my clothes to my bass. :P The layout itself is based on a newsletter layout I made for an organization a while back.
It was even easier to load before I started adding animated .gifs. The dancing chibis alone sucks up as much bandwidth as the rest of my profile combined! o.O
As for going overboard, I let myself do it in the claims department. :D
Did you find the semi-random quotes in white text between the banners? ;) ;)
I seriously have a personal story of some sort behind the banners. Someone can write a decent biography of myself if they're familiar with my claims. Like I refurbish Apple laptops for fun and profit and I grew up eating Pizza Hut pizza. Minatsu from Da Capo II is there because I like bananas and wearing a nekomimi hats in the winter.
Hehe I can probably write a page or two on why I "married" Chitose Serikawa from Chocotto Sister... ^_^;;
