Akagi huh? It's actually been on my sights ever since I watched the opening for it. I loved how calm and nostalgic it was, it was definitely a change from the usual hyper vibrant ops that alot of other anime have. Ill be sure to check it out if I have the time. Fukumoto's artstyle works so well for an intense hobby like gambling too.

Ive never heard of Tetsuya before actually. Do you know if it's super intense (high stakes and stuff) or is it just low-key matches of mahjong?

Ive watched clips of Kakegurui and have no interest for it, so yea we're in the same boat for that one lol.

I stumbled across your profile (I don't even remember how, don't worry I have dementia) and I happened to see that gambling is a genre that you enjoy (im just assuming so as it is included in your bio). Also saw usogui in your favorites which is always nice to see lol.

It definitely wasn't me who hated Vinland Saga, I've never even seen it! I've heard good things, but currently, it's not even on my radar or anything I'd talk about!
I can't believe they keep going on with the isekai shit. God that is so tiring. And it's always the same kind too. (Why so many people give konosuba a 10/10, even people with great opinions I agree with, I'll NEVER understand). It was the most boring thing I've ever seen. And that's the BEST example of one, apparently.

The last isekai I tried, because it seemed twisted and weird with a unique concept behind it was so utterly disappointing. Tanya the Evil or something. Very bad, bland, disappointing and totally wasted. Bad genre. Oh you mentioned this!
No, not at all. It's a cynical Japanese business man who gets killed in an accident and who hates God and has an argument with him at death, so God punishes him or goads him to prove him wrong by reincarnating him into the body of a young girl (he's literally reborn as her) in an alternate world, the peak of WW2, only with magic (mages mixed with WW2 basically) with all his current memories. So now he's the titular Tanya, with his original personality, just as a 10 year old girl in combat.
Sounds like a cool concept for an isekai, right? I thought so. Nope. Get over that excitement. Not worth it. The only thing cool about it were the opening and ending songs.


Anyway, I've been enjoying the new Berserk. Honestly, I can barely even tell it's not Miura. It's the best job anyone could do and they are following his vision. I definitely don't agree with complainers who think "it's not the same". Worth checking out if you get the time!

None taken. Admittedly, looking back on the review now, I should have given The Boy and the Heron a 3 or a 4 because it was based on my first viewing, coming in blind. However, I gave it a 5 because after discussing it with people who enjoyed the film, the film would've been much more cohesive knowing the context i.e. Miyazaki drew on his own life experiences a lot in this movie. The impression of the review is a 3, and I should have given a 3 or a 4.
