Eminence is an odd anime. Episode 1 felt like something out of Batman and I am positive this was the intent. The anime opens dark and gorey and ends the same way, The anime tries too hard to be cool and somehow got away with it. The anime avoids all harem tropes that typically come with OP MCs who get the isekai treatment, which is good, also the fight scenes were hands down some of the best of the season has to offer, period.
The background characters are introduced and do make a slash, but never make real waves which was the biggest letdown. The ...

After 5 years this series completed its run. The final season made its main girl a supporting character for most of the season, which was an interesting choice but provided a much-needed perspective and added another human layer to Restuko’s character. After 5 season her character growth isnt done and we never lose what we love about her. The show is still fun, relatable, and a good insight into Japanese work culture. We get to see Retsy finally get a boyfriend and be a supportive girlfriend something we've been longing for for years. Everyone level up and find their way which is amazing. Background ...

Spoiler
This anime could have easily been one of the top anime to start off the year unfortunately the 12 episode format killed not only the world building needed for a politically driven anime, but also hurt it’s pacing. You get blood, magic, vampires, dragons and an intense sibling rivalry for daddie’s throne. Viauslly this anime meets all standards for top notch visuals with its rich, bright dynamic and and sharp animation. This series is a Yuri where the MC builds somewhat of a harem, while being a total bad ass, but there are plenty of wholesome touching moments. The action sesaws as it mixes adventure/action ...

No other anime lives up to its title like this one. Also as an adult I havnt related to an anime so deeply in quite a while so this was a treat. Working adults who date isnt expolred often but this anime is par for the course. This was my 2nd favorite rom-com of the season, mostly due to its strong leads and their ability to pull you into their relationship. The anime has plenty charm, nice comedic moments and the love story presented felt the most realistic, which is funny considering the ancient sprit ancestory the Mc and others have. Supporting characters love stories arnt ...

Buddy Daddies (Anime) add
The initial episode of Buddy Daddies was one of the biggest fake-outs in anime that I can remember. What I had assumed was going to be an action-packed Gun toting adventure of 2 assassins attempting to balance work and fatherhood; quickly turned into a story about Friendship, Family, and Sacrifice. Buddy Daddies is not a Yaoi, and they're not a couple. I feel the need to say this because many would-be fans were put off by this notion. The anime is alos NOT A SPY FAMILY RIP OFF. What this anime is, is a slice-of-life thriller, with plenty of twists, and gotcha moments. The anime ...

Tomo Chan took unrequited love tropes and found ways to keep it fresh, which is hard to do. The anime is a comedy and is consistent in its comedic timing. Its more Com than Rom which keeps it from being mushy and repetitive, but the on thr nose love story flourishes. The title says it all and drive the point home by the end. All of the supporting characters (especially Carol) really do the heavy lifting which was pulled off better than I'm used to seeing. I love the fact that you can randomly pause and get juicy well animated stills and frames. The season finale ...

Mixed Feelings
And the award for misleading title of the year goes to....... Princess Principal!!!!!
Princess Principal is a dark and fluffy semi steam-punk adventure that bounces around but never makes an impact. The animations is nice, the characters are interesting, fun, mesh well and have very interesting backstories. The plot is absent of many cliches, which is a good thing and the concept leaves you wanting more but the 12 episode format almost certainly killed this shows potential. I watched this show as a Sub and enjoyed the voice actors performance, but I will say a british english dub would definitely take this show to ...

Kuragehime (Anime) add
Princess Jellyfish is an 11 episode anime Directed by Takahiro Omori who is best known for the very popular series Baccano and Durarara!!! . This slice of life , romantic comedy focuses on the lives of the women of Amamizukan, an apartment building in Tokyo, where the only tenants are otaku women, and where no men are allowed. This description is the root of the entire story, almost every pun and awkward yet hilarious situation. Not much time is spent explaing the pasts of all the women of Amamizukan but at no point do these supporting characters become boring and you truly do get ...
