Princess Jellyfish is an 11 episode anime Directed by Takahiro Omori who is best known for the very popular series Baccano and Durarara!!! . This slice of life , romantic comedy focuses on the lives of the women of Amamizukan, an apartment building in Tokyo, where the only tenants are otaku women, and where no men are allowed. This description is the root of the entire story, almost every pun and awkward yet hilarious situation. Not much time is spent explaing the pasts of all the women of Amamizukan but at no point do these supporting characters become boring and you truly do get to know these characters. So without saying much I will say If you are a Fan of The Wallflower and Paradise Kiss just combine those two into 1 anime and you will have Princess Jellyfish. The story has subtle cliches , and an easy to follow "I saw that coming" atmosphere but somehow I could not stop watching and completed all 11 episodes uninterrupted ,eagerly awaiting to see what would happen next. The story ends openly, however it is not a cliffhanger . It leaves just enough closure to sustain your imagination yet is set up for what could possibly be a follow up season or continuation. I enjoyed it but feel I should note than an Open mind is needed for any male anime fan to appreciate/enjoy this series. This is easily one of my favorite anime that I have seen in the past year and definitely in my top 5 guilty pleasures .
