Eminence is an odd anime. Episode 1 felt like something out of Batman and I am positive this was the intent.The anime opens dark and gorey and ends the same way, The anime tries too hard to be cool and somehow got away with it. The anime avoids all harem tropes that typically come with OP MCs who get the isekai treatment, which is good, also the fight scenes were hands down some of the best of the season has to offer, period.
The background characters are introduced and do make a slash, but never make real waves which was the biggest letdown. The show never takes itself seriously either and im still not sure if this was meant to be meta or simply a parody of its genre. The show doesnt have an identity and I found myself wanting it to be darker, more serious and deep but it never happens. All things considered this anime was a real treat and by the end will serve and satisfy any shonen fan.This is a sleeper must see anime and season 2 is on the way. Also Cid aka Shaddow is a bad ass MC whos alter ego gives Lelouch/Zero vibes and who doesnt love Lelouch.
