Love Live happens first. Love Live Sunshine is a little bit afterwards, I think a year or two. Both are basically the same, at least without spoiling what happens obviously.

Only main difference is that LL was their first attempt and things didn't really flow well for some people, and LLS has a much more natural flow. The characters are all cute and enjoyable. LLS probably has more funny gifs because there are just so many fun moments mixed in with the drama, also because even the 3rd years in LLS love to mess around and goof off too. LL was great, but LLS surpasses it in almost every aspect.

Definitely watch LL and LL season 2 before you go into LLS (if you plan to at all). LL builds up the world and legacy basically and then LLS walks into a world where LL has already happened. So for that reason already LLS is able to live more freely as it doesn't have to do a lot of the ground work that LL had to.

I've heard amazing things about it so I decided to give it a go a couple times now, but I still can't get into it. I found it to be super boring and slow(coming from someone who loves SoL and nothing happening anime), I've brought it up a few times and everyone always said it gets amazing in the second season, or After Years I think it's called... But I can't justify sinking 20+ episodes into something I dislike 3 episodes in, just for it to maybe get good... I'm sure it is good, but I shouldn't need to wait that long for it to get good. Not when there are so many other anime I know I'll enjoy from the first few episodes that deserve my time! ^^;

And yeah, a 56.8% affinity at 63 shared is pretty fine. Especially with our shared favourites, though our character lists are a bit further apart. :D

Kamina provided a lot of the AWESOME indeed, though in the end the show does an excellent job showing how Simon carries on to continue his legacy and eventually surpass him. The scene where Simon reaches a resurgence thanks to Nia is one of the most epic in anime, so well put together on every level in story, character, animation, music and enjoyability. The second half gets more and more grand in scale as it goes, just you wait.

So much AWESOMENESS, fun characters, epic action and wacky humor, commentary stuff in the 2nd half and effective dramatic stakes! What was your favorite scene?
