Sougo is definitely a stand out in Gintama's cast, his sadistic personality makes for some hilarious moments. And the ship is one of my all time favourites, I have a ton of fanart saved for them o_o A couple of friends and I go kind of overboard with our love for it but it's worth it because of the few fanartists dedicated solely towards this ship (bless LoliSamurai). Ok ships aside, Sougo has a ton of great moments in the show that you can look forward to. The arc with his sister is one of my favourites in the show

I know, I like all the main characters as well. Some just took more time to grow on me. And agreed on Gintama. Even if I don't find it funny at times, the cast is entertaining enough that it keeps me going.

Origination was a massive improvement IMO. Art and animation got so much better. tbh, I wasn't too big on the first two seasons of Aria. One of my major issues with the show were the supernatural aspects. Any of those episodes where Akari went to some "magical world" or something bored me to sleep. I'm really glad Origination didn't have any of those (and less Akatsuki...). Yeah, those last few episodes were something else. That last episode especially with that insert song. I might rewatch the series one day, but there's a couple of others I need to rewatch atm (need to rewatch a bunch, my faves list is pretty fucked up right now). I should get to Avvenire soon. Fave character is Alice, with Aika at a close second. Aika used to be my fave but episode 9 put me more towards Alice.

I see you're also watching Gintama. The first season can be very hit-or-miss but the second season is a massive improvement (keep using that word haha). It's better in pretty much every way.

Yeah Erin actually has some pretty dark undertones behind a lot of the messages it conveys, especially with the politics involved. I haven't read the novel, but I do know the anime was made way more kid friendly when adapted (unfortunately that came with the inclusion of Nukku and Mokki but they werent too bad after their initial episodes) There's a reason Erin is among my favorite female characters and it's how strong-willed she is and grows with every experience as she pushes forward <3 I feel like you definitely get to see all the triumphs and failures that shape who she is. I was thinking about this the other day, but the show kind of reminds me if a WMT was made today. I adored Akage no Anne for very similar reasons, you should consider checking that one out!

I have no words for Fate/Extra bahahaha but episode 9 definitely took the cake. I couldn't stand the MC's monologuing about how worthless and not human he was for almost half of the episodes runtime. It made me lower it a 2 recently, but that was kind of a heat of the moment thing... I'm just not sure I can justify putting it on the same level as Apocrypha, ya know? At least it's been pretty fun to follow and some of the shaft visuals look really nice (especially the city in the earlier episodes). Also now we have to wait until July for the final episodes soooo... joy x.x



Ugh that show just didn't do anything for me. I don't quite understand the love, but it seems like you lose no matter if you love or hate it since its trying to be one huge shitpost. Oh well, comedy is super subjective so i'll just write it off as a failure to entertain me in any way, shape or form. It is quite possibly the most "love or hate" anime I've come across in the medium.

Glad to hear that about Erin. It is a very lovely show and everything is so well-crafted and thought out from the details of the worldbuilding to the nuance with Erin and her growth. Always nice to have fantasy worlds like these in a market currently saturated by half-baked isekai premises. I'm sure you've already been recommended Moribito as well for another strong female lead, same author.

Ringo is definitely best character/girl from the show, good taste. Ending was 10/10 and when you thought you'd get tired of "SEIZON SENRYAKU" it gets better every listen.

Yeah no rush on it really, I'm only joking about it. Bad show to rush anyways. I'm prob like months late, but I see you added Sogo to your favorites :eyes: good choice and nice to see as he's kind of uncommon one to have as a favorite, at least around the people I chat with on discord n stuff.

And yeah I prefer Kara no Kyoukai overall as well, mostly due to the atmosphere and how it's squarely dark urban fantasy-- and Tsukihime is similar in that regard but honestly even darker I'd say, and overall just comes together and forms a really amazing whole.


Speaking of Kara no Kyoukai, the rewatch starts in a couple of days and I'm really excited for it. Going to be my first time participating in a sub rewatch as an actual rewatcher as opposed to a first timer.


That's awesome that you're caught up with Chihayafuru which means now the wait for S3 will be even worse, I'm definitely looking forward to that rewatch also when it happens, going to participate for sure!

Interesting that you're reading the Tsukihime manga first! Have not read it myself but have *very* positive things about it from people I know who like the VN.

Overall Tsukihime is a lot darker than F/SN and it has a lot of really human and more grounded drama that really works for me.

And yeah, it makes sense to be more excited for the Far Side routes... the Near Sides are cool but they have a lot of setup and some pretty bad expo dumps and are overall just less interesting.

Basically I think they're pretty similar to the Fate route in that sense.
