...then you might like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners add

Very similar aesthetic and artstyle, characters are relatively similar and the stories are constructed in very similar ways. Both shows give off very "Americanized" vibes also. Both shows also have a very standard intro/middle/conclusion. This can be good because there is a constant building towards something (which is surprisingly absent from most anime, generally abiding by a different formulae from the west) but this does come at the cost of being more "predictable"

"Moonlit fantasy" is literally just a worse version of "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime". In both the MC is reincarnated to another world with godlike powers, both have super OP followers that would do anything for them (and do most of the fighting), both have a focus around building and maintaining a "monster city". etc, etc. Slime is better in probably every regard but moonlit fantasy isn't unwatchable, it's about as good as most other generic isekais getting released.

...then you might like Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi add

Similar crude jokes, edgy characters and no sh*ts given attitude to story telling. Both have a similar "adult swim" vibe. Idaten-tachi leans more into some dark themes and has a distinct shounen-esque setup and uses that to explore the themes whereas Panty & stocking has a bigger emphasis on humour.

...then you might like Capeta add

Both shows are basically identical lol. Similar art-style, similar characters, they even have the same voice actors. Both shows are centered around a talented, unique and incredibly hard working main characters who are chasing after their rivals (who are both just out of reach). The main difference is in Ippo the main source of drama is with his skirt chasing (more in line with the Rocky theme) and family troubles , Capeta's side-focus goes mostly towards his financial troubles and inability to upgrade equipment.

...then you might like Hunter x Hunter (2011) add

There was a lot of people comparing Hikaru with Yu-gi-oh which tbh I don't understand. There are surface level similarities but as fans of either of these series knows, a scratched surface isn't always repairable. Hikaru no Go and Hunter X hunter might both appear to be fun, light hearted adventures with fun characters who just want to experience the world.. But behind that laughter is a dark underbelly of drive, intent and passion. A cut-throat ambition that will heartlessly stomp out anyone blocking your path to success. Both shows will hype you up, drive your expectations sky high only to make you realize that both you and the MC missed the 20 checkpoints on the way up.

...then you might like Devilman: Crybaby add

Both artistic, thought provoking, introspective shows that try to show the darker parts of what make us human. Both shows contain hints of philosophy. Both shows are experimental (both art and story-wise) and are both based on an old piece of famous literature. I got very similar vibes while watching both of these. Sure, Devilman Crybaby is a bit more trippy, takes itself less seriously and portrays the symbolism with a different intent... Howeeever I will gamble that the ideas behind these shows are similar enough to make them both worthy of being in a recommendation together. :)

...then you might like 3-gatsu no Lion add

Both shows are structured and paced very similarly while also containing similar stories. Both shows have 2 main focuses. 1) The sport and 2) the relationships. March comes in like a lion is primarily focused on Kiriyama and his pathway to becoming a great Shogi player and the relationships he develops on his journey out of depression. Chihayafuru is focused on Karuta and the relationships that extended from Chiha's love of it. Her romance and the Karuta club she created. As a side note: Chihayafuru has imo excessive melodrama (At least in the first 2 seasons) at least when being compared to 3-gatsu which is to be expected as Chih is part josei. The drama will eventually take a back seat to our MCs love of Karuta anyway so if you aren't a fan dw about it too much.

...then you might like Darwin's Game add

Both popcorn anime centered around a "battle royale" fight to the death game. Both have similar levels of animation quality, pacing, character focus, action scenes. The stories are both structured in very similar ways. If you liked Killing bites you'd probably enjoy Darwins game too. There are small differences, namely the way they handle the fight scenes but overall they're about as enjoyable as each other.

If you liked Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu add

...then you might like Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai add

First off, both movies/series are a must watch. If you haven't seen one of these add them to your watch list immediately. (bunny senpai movie is available to watch outside of cinemas as of a few weeks ago) the Suzumiya movie is widely regarded as a masterpiece and struck the attention of many anime fans when it was released. The fan base were largely skeptical about the previous season but were blown away by how well crafted the movie turned out. Bunny girl senpai gives off a very similar vibe, it's quiet, understated and slow-building but goes from 1-100 very quick. The movie struck me in the same way Suzumiya did all those years ago. Trust me, if you've been putting either of these shows off or haven't yet watched the movies you should go do it right now.

CLaymore/ Blue gender Im surprised this recommendation hasn't been made yet. (EDIT: only 1 rec ;)) Shows with similar art styles, similar environments, similar vibes, similar characters, similar plots, similar pacing. A.k.A... Very similar shows. Both involve a hardened blonde female lead going around killing monsters in order to achieve their own mission but also to protect their young male comrad. The relationships in both shows also develop in similar ways as our hardened female protag learn about love, friendship and becoming vulnerable because of that growth. Both shows are entertaining with plenty of action with the main focus on developing characters. I feel both shows have similar weaknesses also. If you enjoy 1 of these you'll defo like the other too.

...then you might like Hinamatsuri (TV) add

The obvious comparison between these shows is the main characters... Both psychics with similar personalities (bar their intelligence) being forced into similar wacky situations. Both shows have a very similar style of humour and plot-layout as well. The main difference between these shows is the intent. Saiki is a more fast paced, skit based show intent on being as entertaining as possible whereas Hana starts off similar to that but quickly converts into a fairly heartfelt comedy with some real meaning behind it.

Very similar movies. Both films with a dark, mysterious ambience. Very similar main characters, similar pacing, similar plot. Both movies are just very similar. The blood-C movie is totally different to the original series btw, just a heads up.

If you liked Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World add

...then you might like Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou add

There are a lot of people comparing "Girls world tour" to "Made in Abyss". Tbh I couldn't disagree more. "Girls world tour" might contain happy, positive characters who are surrounded in a dark, tense world, but thats as far as the comparison goes. I personally feel it is far more related to a show like Kinos beautiful world. A pretty young girl with a dark past, numbing her to emotion and forcing her to be cold to the people she comes across while she explores her world. Kino tries to avoid effecting the countries she visits. Prefering to just watch and examine, helping those who directly need her but without going out of her way. The story is about her as she travels the world in a very similar way to "Girls world tour" does. Both have very dark, atmospheric environments with slow, light ambient music. Most of both shows are fairly episodic, only really being linear in how the characters develop as we learn more about them.

Idk dude.. The vibes, characters, stupid plot. All pretty similar. If you like one you'll like the other. They're both as good as each other, I enjoyed them both despite them being stupidly flawed. The strength in both shows are the characters and their development throughout the series. Essentially... if you enjoy Eureka seven despite it's flaws then you'll enjoy this too. Ignore the hate Fractle gets. Despite what people say, it's pretty much on par with Eureka seven in every regard. Just a shame it stopped at 11 episodes.

If you liked Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo add

...then you might like Cencoroll add

Both of these movies have a very similar "vibe". Honestly, as soon as I started watching both of these movies the first things I noticed were the unique atmosphere and similar art design. Both of these shows imho have a very similar feel throughout, have a very similar soundtrack, characters and even the storylines have the same sort of sci-fi feel. Cencoroll being only 25 minutes, doesn't have the same rememberability about it, but if you like "the girl who leapt through time" then you will most likely love this hidden gem as well. (And vice versa) The main characters are also very similar. Both female roles with a relateable and easy to like personality.

If you liked Katanagatari add

...then you might like Rokka no Yuusha add

I can't exactly put my finger on why, but these are two very similar shows. Both diologue driven anime with similarly weird characters. The main similarity is both of these shows focus almost entirely on driving character development through character interactions and conversations. Rokka no Yuusha has a far faster pace and a lot of action based around a "who done it" but still gives a similar feel because of the vivid colours but tense atmosphere with contrasting dark under-tones of betrayal and death. Both absolute masterpeices for diologue-loving nuts such as myself. Both are must watch.

If you liked Mushishi add

...then you might like Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World add

The 3 best words to describe both of these shows? Episodic, dark and calming. Both main characters seem devoid of emotion, have interesting (and dark) backgrounds and travel from town to town learning about their chosen field. Whilst Kino travels to learn about the world ( ignoring the problems she faces) Ginko learns about Mushi, an invisible (to most) lifeform (similar to that of insects) solving the problems they cause people who dont know of their existence. Mushishi is extremely dark and most episodes can leave you feeling bittersweet or on the verge of tears. If you enjoy The Beautiful World, you will no doubt adore Mushishi as well.
