Random thought:

I think I finally figured out how exactly to put into words our different ways of enjoying anime.

You care more about what goes into anime (i.e. the craft of anime and all the themes, the process, etc.), whereas I care more about what I get out of it.

Does that sound about right? XD
Hikool101 Apr 17, 12:07 PM
I see. Does your friend like it more than you do?

Maybe I'll have to check it out for myself sometime haha.

Also, I'm already falling way behind on trying to keep up with all these seasonals! I'm watching so many at once lol.
Lumi Apr 16, 6:44 PM
Been doing well, I'm happy to hear back from you!

Travelling back home 150 miles every weekend does sound very straining. Hang in there, Autumn~
Let me know how that practical training goes :D

I agree, there definitely has been some effort put into the series. I mostly enjoyed watching The Apothecary Diaries since it has a perfectly balanced mix of mystery and comedy along with fun plot twists and bits of cute moments. And I'm sure you might've come across this news, but I'm so glad that we're getting a Season 2! 🥳

Yeah Sousou no Frieren has a great soundtrack and nails the fantasy genre. I haven't finished watching it, but my eldest sis and brother-in-law enjoyed it lots. They told me that at first it can feel a bit slow regarding the pace (which I agree) but that it gets much better starting from ep 8. I'm at ep. 6 though who knows if I'll already be ahead of ep. 6 by the next time you reply, haha. Omg, you're right. The random German names must've caught you off-guard so much. Any favorite one? xD

Yes, I'm pretty sure you have told me that you're a klutz before, lol. Can't believe you broke your glasses again! I'm heavily disappointed, Autumn >:( Now you gotta make 200 push-ups and 400 burpees every day for an entire month. Sounds doable, right? (◔◡◔)

Very belated happy Easter in return, lmao. Stay safe <3
Hikool101 Apr 16, 12:34 PM
What is this random decision to read whatever Kimi to Wonderland is?? 👀 👀 👀
tr4dw1f3 Apr 13, 8:22 PM
I hope your Easter was well. Well, after adding you I saw your profile and we seem to have a lot of common creative interests:)
Hikool101 Apr 10, 12:20 PM
True, true.

Oh, that's good haha. I hope you find it interesting, as well. :)

Hmph. :P

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend you watch Wind Breaker lol.

Then again, you are watching Jujutsu Kaisen, a generic Shounen Jump thingy. :P
Still questioning that decision lol.
Hikool101 Apr 8, 3:21 PM
Oh, wow. Well, you can use a VPN for Hidive, but nice that you found it elsewhere, too. :)

Yeah, The House in Fata Morgana is famous amongst the visual novel community for the large-scale tragedy that unfolds within its various stories. Just about everyone who plays (and reviews it) mentions that it made them bawl their eyes out lol. Makes me excited. XD

I plan on watching the first episode of Ooi! Tonbo either today or tomorrow. I'll have to let you know how it goes (spoiler-free, of course) when I do.
And yeah, Train to the End of the World is quite interesting, but if you've seen the trailer (I haven't), then I hope it doesn't spoil certain things about the first episode lol, but it probably does. I know the synopsis doesn't, though. I guess it's only the beginning, though, so it's probably fine anyway. I look forward to discussing it. :)

I didn't tell you to watch Astro Note or Jiisan Baasan Wakegaeru, so there was no need to bum me out like that. :P
Kidding lol. Yeah, you probably wouldn't like Astro Note, and I can't say anything about Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru yet, as I haven't watched the first episode myself, but I'm sure it'll be a nice wind down after a long day type of show haha.

Yeah, but Rainbow isn't action, nor is it shounen, plus Wind Breaker is from generic Shounen Jump. XD
Hikool101 Apr 7, 2:19 AM
Yeah, Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night is available on HiDIVE. :)

Oh, nice! I hear The House in Fata Morgana is one of the saddest and most tragic visual novels ever written haha. I also hear it's one of the best ones. I own it on the Switch. Hopefully I agree lol. I hope you'll like it!

By the way, I have a new favorite anime of the season, Astro Note! I thought it was very funny and charming, and it's an original anime from the creator of Urusei Yatsura.

Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku... PLEASE tell me your thoughts when you watch the first episode. Since I'm finally watching anime as they come out, I'd love to be able to discuss it with you, especially for something like this lol. It's very interesting and different. XD

Also, even though I like Astro Note the most this season so far, I feel like Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night has the most potential. I can't WAIT for Jiisaan Baasaan Wakagaeru, though, which airs later today. It's the anime I'm most excited for this season, and I really hope it delivers! It looks so sweet and wholesome and just really nice.

Btw, for some reason Wind Breaker made me teary-eyed???? An action shounen deliquent anime of all things???? I'm surprised by that lol. I got emotional over it haha.
Hikool101 Apr 7, 1:10 AM
Hehe, thanks. Speaking of seasonals, I just watched the first episode of Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, and to be honest I'm quite confident you would like it. :)

No, I haven't, but it's a visual novel I'm certainly excited for! Why?
Pokitaru Apr 6, 8:55 AM
Thank you! ^^

It's definitely a strange adjustment being back to civilian life after nine months in the military. Even a month after my service ended, I'm still getting used to it!
Hey, no worries, your studies come first, so don't apologize for prioritizing them over replying to MAL comments!

And now that the army is over, I'm back to anime as usual, and I couldn't be happier! I've really missed the excitement of staying up to date with the newest episodes of seasonal anime. There's also something so satisfying about planning out what I'll be watching each season, and after such a long time, doing it again feels incredibly nostalgic! Though, I must admit, sometimes it can be quite exhausting, especially when the lineup for the season doesn't seem all that promising. :P
Anyway, here's what I'm currently watching/planning to watch:

- The Fable
- Spice and Wolf remake - Just finished the first episode, and it was quite enjoyable. I loved the background music, and this "folklore" vibe was quite charming. I haven't watched the old version, but from what I know, the new one will follow the light novels much closer
- Ninja Kamui - Been watching it for about two months now. I like the action scenes and the eye-catching animation, plus the opening is a real banger, but it lacks depth beyond that.
- Bartender Glass of God - An intriguing concept, and despite not being into alcohol, especially cocktails, I'm curious to try everything in that bar where the talented protagonist works. They look so clean and tasty! xD
- Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru

List is still under construction. We are too early in the spring season, so I might add some other titles or even remove some of the ones listed as well later on.

It's great that you're not constantly on the move now. I'd love to hear more about your training experience. And I'm not just talking about your future plans, but also about what you've been up to in your life during these past few months. Feel free to share any significant events or experiences you've had! ^^

I've also been catching up on Frieren lately since I couldn't watch it earlier (for obvious reasons :P), and I'm pleasantly surprised. Didn't really like the first episodes, but now that I'm almost halfway through, it's shaping up to be a very good high-fantasy anime!
Thinking of catching up with Apothecary Diaries too; the setting seems right up my alley.

As for Jujutsu Kaisen, now that's unexpected! Can't quite picture you watching a battle shounen anime, but I'm glad you picked it up because it's one of the few these days that lives up to the hype. The second season was especially impressive!

A Sign of Affection was enjoyable. Can't say anything negative about it, but can't say anything too positive either. It was interesting to see sign language as the main characteristic, which sets it apart from most romance titles.

Do you have any plans for the spring season? Is there anything you're planning to watch anytime soon?

Edit: I'm sorry for the lengthy text ahead, which I forgot to write down in my initial comment, but I feel compelled to share this with you because it holds great significance for me.
Nogyo Apr 6, 4:24 AM
Hey Gooseflower! Thank you very much for accepting :)

Exactly, I agree 100%. I also really enjoyed the psychology behind it since.. I study psychology lol. It was really interesting to detect attitudes and situations I've studied as well. You definitely should and I should probably too!

Unfortunately not a lot.. yet! I'm greek, I was born in Athens and spent 17 years there. Then I moved to France last year for my studies and I'm still here. So, so far I speak greek, french and english. I'd like to learn Spanish and Japanese in the nearest future possible. What about you? Any interests when it comes to languages and cultures?

Thank you, right back at you! It's gonna be a looong day at the library today :)
Hikool101 Apr 6, 2:52 AM
Oh, and I am also surprised at the number 1 spot on my seasonal rankings. XD
Hikool101 Apr 6, 2:51 AM
Hmm... I wonder who did.

By the way, I made the decision to watch this season of anime as they come out! Check out my ✨ brand new ✨ rankings thus far on my profile bio! It's a little something to make it more organized for me, and for others to get an idea of my impressions of them as I go. :)
Hikool101 Apr 5, 1:23 AM
Hey, were you the one who wrote comments on my profile and then deleted them?
Hikool101 Apr 3, 11:12 PM
Oh, thank you for the explanation! That clears it up. :)

Also, wow, you stayed up much later than usual. XD
