Toru Furuya (古谷 徹 Furuya Tōru?) is a veteran narrator and seiyū (voice actor) born on July 31, 1953 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As a child, he was a member of Gekidan Himawari, a children's acting troupe. He is employed by the talent management firm Aoni Production. He was a best friend of the late Hirotaka Suzuoki.
He is most known for the roles of Amuro Ray (Mobile Suit Gundam), Hyouma Hoshi (Kyojin no Hoshi), Pegasus Seiya (Saint Seiya), Yamcha (Dragon Ball), Kyosuke Kasuga (Kimagure Orange Road), and Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask (Sailor Moon).
Using pseudonym Noboru Sougetsu in the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 credits in his role as Ribbons Almark.

His voice made me company since my childhood with Seiya.
An interesting fact is at episode 40 of KOR, in an episode parodying the recent movie at the time, "top gun", when his role of Kyosuke screams a special attack move with "Pegasus Ryu Sei" there in the middle. Priceless!
It's incredible to hear his role as Casshern and to see hear that his voice hasn't changed almost nothing in more than 20 years.
