'Aria the Benedizione' Reveals Additional Cast, Trailer, December 3 Premiere
The official website for the Aria anime series revealed two additional cast, a trailer, and key visual (pictured), for the Aria the Benedizione film on Wednesday. The third and final installment in the Ao no Curtain Call (Blue Curtain Call) trilogy will open in Japanese theaters on December 3.
Sumi Shimamoto (Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä) and Akiko Hiramatsu (Azumanga Daioh) are cast as Asuka R. Baggio and Airi S. Granzchesta, respectively.
Takahiro Natori (Aria the Avvenire assistant director) is returning to direct the film at J.C.Staff, with chief director and scriptwriter Junichi Satou (Aria the Animation). Youko Itou (Amanchu!) is also returning as the character designer and chief animation director.
Singer and voice actress Yui Makino is performing both the opening and themes titled "Espero" and "Undine ~2021 edizione~," respectively.
The anime series adapts Kozue Amano's sci-fi slice of life manga that originally began in Enix's Monthly Stencil as Aqua in January 2001 before switching to Comic Blade with the new title Aria the following February. Mag Garden published the manga in 14 compiled volumes, which have sold a cumulative 4.2 million copies.
The manga was adapted into three anime series and an original video animation by Hal Film Maker in Fall 2005, Spring 2006, and Winter 2008.

If the movie has as much Aika as that trailer this might turn into the best instalment.

I swear "Benedizione" sounds like some kind of sea sickness medication.

The 'best instalment' title is already taken by Crepuscolo thanks to the good amount of Alice airtime in that one.
