Each EX episode will have a 30 minute running time. Also confirmed the Saya hot spring scene will be there... hopefully it'll be uncensored since its not on TV.

But with 30 minute running times, its the same as 10 normal episodes that run at 24 minutes. Thats not so bad.

And there is always a possibility there won't be an opening and ending for the Ecstasy episodes, so that would give us even more time.

There is a OP version of a second song on the single to Boy be Smile, and considering we have 13 episodes for Refrain, I'd say it's safe to assume that it'll be used for EX.

I like how this dude illustrated Saya. It's lovely!

Sh-shit. Dat art for Sasami...

Anyway, I doubt this is the place for that.

We have A-VN Discussion Thread here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?animeid=20517 or Little Busters Club for that.

Well, I guess I should be "a little bit" satisfied since it'll be 30 minutes per episode instead of 24. And yes, the hot spring scene should be uncensored.

make dreadful common route last 26 episodes. but cut down all the good stuff to 13 episodes. JC staff is full of sense.

Not JC staff, but those, who give money to this whole thing. Still a retarded choice. The whole thing pretty much prints them money, so why 1 cour?

There's a bit of a standard formula regarding VNs in regard to how much episodes you need, and that's basically 3 for each 2 hours of reading time. (you essentially need half the reading time as anime time) All the better VN adaptions have around that much time. (+-, though that should be obvious. The heavier a VN is on fancy descriptions, the less time you need.) Having a bit less time is still ok, but once you hit 25% of reading time as anime time, you have to cut major things. And that's NEVER good, except if you think the original work sucks. (which could be, but why are you watching it then?)

Of course, theory is fine, how about examples? Kanon should be a decent one. Just like Steins;gate. Definitely overkill was Clannad AS, which, to my knowledge, isn't taking you longer to read than to watch the anime, which means it's twice as long as it should be. (maybe a bit less than that)
Way too rushed ones are things like 11eyes, which everybody simply forgets. It's funny that 11eyes was originally a VN which was supposed to "come close" to something like Fate Stay night. It's I think 45 hours of reading time (no real splitting routes) added to that. How much of that was left after the 4 hours adaption? Well.. it's an extreme case though. Also quite known would be Umineko. 8 hours anime for 40-50 hours VN. Even if you consider Umineko to be dragged out, they just skipped too much.

Yep. You can seriously expect a great romance on Saya's route.

Well let's see how it goes :D

With that 9600yen price tag and 13 episodes Refrain, JC Staff/Warner will have to not disappoint come Rin and Refrain routes in order to get those sales.
I'm excited and hopeful that there's an overall quality increase in terms of precise writing, screenplay, and maybe animation in the upcoming arcs.

Actually she'll get 4 episodes based on their speculation regarding to the titles of episodes 4 to 6.

Well, that was underwhelming, being shortened to 13 episodes, at least for me...But Saya being shown first than Sasami or Kanata? Quite the marketing strategy there.

Welp, now we know at least.

To anyone who has not played Refrain yet, don't worry. Everyone here who is complaining it will be butchered has to realize that they ALWAYS cut out content from the VN, and Refrain has a lot of repeated scenes from another character's point of view.

It can easily be done in six or so episodes. I'm guessing Rin will be from 4-6, with Refrain being 7-13. The giant tragedy that every Key adaption has (like
in Clannad AS) happens very close to the end, and could probably be in episode ten or eleven. Maybe even twelve. I'm sure that everything important and emotional will be in here and that it will be a great season.

But one thing: can anyone point me to the source that confirms Refrain for thirteen episodes?

The last volume will ship with the 13th Refrain episode and two EX episodes on July 30, 2014.

Damn! What a disappointment for Refrain to be 1 cour. Even more disappointed with EX having only 8 episodes. -______-

I guess from now on I'll just stick to KEY's VNs and not their anime adaptation cos things are always rushed during adaptation.
