SynopsisIan is a special boy - he can see fairies. He seems to have a twin called Tokage who can only be seen by him and a pair of wings on his back. This pair of wings, his father scars to prevent him from 'flying away' as his wife, Ian's mother left father and son. In the city he is in, a number of grisly murders occur. These murders are known as the Fairy Murders as the victims have backs slit open, with blood pouring out in the shape of a butterfly's wings. Ian's childhood friend returns and Tokage gets him into trouble, and slowly Ian begins to unravel the past and realise who he is, and solve the Fairy Murders. (Source: Wikipedia)

Story: 8
Going into this Manga, do not at all expect a story that is, how to put it, one of ones happy go lucky fairy tales. Expect something more along the lines of Brothers Grim and those stories, with a great deal of taking from the fokelore of many aspects of quite a few cultures, capturing the darker side that is rarely seen any more. Also, while it ends on a happy note, there is also a note of saddness to it.
Art: 8
The art work seemed a tad bit over done on the girly side, and I am female. I loved the detale placed on the wings, but it was at times hard to pick out differences in characters for one things.
Character: 6
As for the characters, they start of really strong, then become weak towards the middle, then end beautifully. It is the middle part that might make some wish not to continue reading.
Enjoyment: 8 & Overall: 7
I had to say that this was a good tale that was good for a sitting down, but perhaps not a reread on my part as most of the characters I really couldn't get attached to. The ones I did were the most 'lonely' characters in the whole series. read more

This was a cute, short story. I liked it. The story has many surprises and twists. The ending suited the story perfectly. I would recomend this to anyone who is looking for a love story with action and fantasy. It was definetly worth the time to read! :)

They have a similar feel, dealing with tragedy and pain.

Add blood, a bit of violence, gothic artwork and dark characters to Merupuri, switch wizards to fairies and you´ll have Fairy Cube.
- Both have a main teenage guy that ends up stuck in a child´s body.
- Both have a main girl that ends up falling in love with the main guy and tries to protect him but ends up being abducted.
- The main guy has a brother that is his rival and at first sight, his "enemy".
- Both have an older guy with a little fairy that loves him and follows him everywhere because he saved her when she was younger.
