| Meruem's development is so dimensional. Wow it gets deeper and deeper. It's amazing to see who he will become. Interesting theme in this arc is that Meruem is trying to learn his name which represents his identity. Soul-searching. |

Why does one aura harm people, and another heal them? It's all in the emotion, intention, thought applies through the aura. If you hit someone close to you with aura, with the intention of healing an injury, that's what happens. If you do it with aggression, it does them harm. The King's aura that touched the eagle at that moment had the emotion of hate/contempt toward Komugi. Now, remember in Heaven's Arena, uninitiated non-users of nen are completely vulnerable. This caused the eagle to be somewhat consumed by that aura and the emotions it carries. That's why it attacked Komugi. |

| Oh come on Shower Puff. Pull yourself together. On another note though it kinda makes you think how come Meruem was born evil. Just like how come Pouf, Pitou, and the other guy (forgot his name) were born evil. If Chimera Ants' objective is as normal as survival, I' m not sure where 'rule the world' fits in that schedule. And for this reason I still find it hard to sympathize with them, but nevertheless it is still interesting to see how Meruem's character changed when faced with somebody stronger than him. |

| OMG..... The King is changing in more ways than I expected!! Definitely didn't expect him to be that kind to Komugi omg! Don't tell me we'll see a Komugi x King love line here????! Or he's just learning about having some compassion? If so and then he eventually turns for the better, I doubt he'll be killed by the end of this arc... Yup I can totally see this knowing how the arcs so far don't have conclusive endings as well (by "conclusive" I mean an enemy-all-dead kind of ending) On the other hand, I enjoyed the King's monologue in this episode, which illustrates to us his developing thoughts! |

I like how he is so sensitive and a musician and a little dramatic. he gives some relief to the tension and darkness of this arc. I''m glad there is also someone as calm as youpi in the trio. Otherwise I would feel like going nuts with all those crazy people :3 |

| Holy crap! She's glowing. Is she about to play the divine move? Oh, look. Her name is finally revealed in THIS episode. It's Komugi. I wonder why folks were saying her name in past episodes comment section when they know it is against the rules to spoil future content? Assholes. Holy crap! Meruem is evolving. Meruem: What do I want to do with her? Me: I always thought you were going to bang her and make her your woman so you can have a Human-Chimera Ant-Gungi kid. |

| So I know that earlier I ridiculed the pacing for slowing to a crawl, and while I am still very much wishing that the show would pick it up (and to its credit it does look like we are heading to the selection and resultant showdown quicker than seemed likely a half-dozen episodes ago), it's nice that the pace allows character development episodes like this one. Meruem is very clearly headed for an internal conflict that will rival or exceed that of the external conflict headed his way: this helpless girl he could kill instantly, but instead chooses to protect. Hell, calling it "choosing" is a bit dubious actually, as he clearly didn't make the choice, his body just sorta moved on its own to shield her from the wrath of that bird (although really how the hell did a bird get into that room? Why did it randomly decide to attack Komugi?) In this way, she holds a power over him, and he can't figure out why he wants to protect her so much (that's the power of moe, baby!) Still, great episode, one of the best we've had in a while as we near the end of the arc. |

Butvthe showdown will begin soon, although if you like episodes like this than you might like the showdown part a lot. Also everyone are complaining about the bird, well it is simple, they show the bird then Meruem displays Ren and bird gets scared and confused... I think it's a simple and plausible logic. |

| The King is a really interesting character. He's struggling with his own identity. At first he wanted to beat her in Gungi to prove that he was intellectually superior...then he started to become fascinated with her and even admired her. And now he actually cares for her! He's starting to question what he really wants and whether destruction is truly satisfying. His matches with her are more enjoyable than killing and eating humans. And he's confused that his interest with her is more than just staving off more boredom or proving his superiority. Damn, I love villains that are multi-dimensional. |
