Damn I didn't expect this, I was thinking he had a secret power or technique but surrender of all things?! Well that sure was a surprise, lets see what happens next! |

| Ah, here we go. Goku surrendering. I think this is the first time in the entire Dragon Ball franchise that he has surrendered. There's a good reason why, his secret weapon comes in next episode. |

| I really wonder what it was like for the people reading/watching this series during it's initial run, like you don't see a lot of Jump hero's ever give up, especially how nonchalantly Goku did. |
| That was quite the fight... I noticed how Cell was panting just like Goku near the end. I guess Cell is more human-like in that aspect compared to 17 & 18. Maybe that's a exploitable weakness? His Stamina? He has to go down somehow... |

I don't think they've ever been shown before. I think it was just a side bit to show that ChiChi has been telling all her neighbors that Goku is dying his hair just as a way to explain away the sudden change from black to blonde hair. Side note: What really amazed me this episode was Vegeta owning up to the fact that he had not surpassed Goku! Maybe he's finally getting over his pride! |

| If not for Cells structure Goku would have won this fight. Cells barrier is huuuge. Vegeta speech was amazing, first time he acknowledged Gokus genius and that even he couldn't surpass him. Goku giving up as a main protagonist also is entirely new and never happened before at least in the series. Question is that if he planned it this way, I was sure he wouldnt win because it was fight #1 of the Cell games (serious ones I mean). But honestly who should fight besides? It can only be Gohan. |
