Good to see how Riki has earned everyone's respect and trust and they won the game....

They actually lost, All Stars 18, Little Busters 10 unless I read the scoreboard wrong. But they still said the Little Busters are the best!

Yeah you read it wrong

I wanna see Saya XD

LB! Refrain looks like serious things & deep drama start there...

Regarding to the scoreboard, actually this is real:

And this is the subbed one:

Basically, they really lost. I wonder why UTW did that but it doesn't really affect whatsoever whether they win or not. It seems also they did it intentionally because there's no way that they could do such mistake. (Or probably they became lazy judging on how they really hate the LB anime)

I watched it without subs (always do since I prefer listening to and reading Japanese) so yes I saw the correct numbers. What a horrible thing to do, changing it like that! Once again I know why I watch without subs!!!! OMG, that is bad!!!!

How do you guys ever trust fansubs? Wow... unbelievable!

I realized almost 20 years ago that even official translations, then Viz manga, got things wrong or changed things on purpose and that made me want to learn Japanese so I could get the actual story, not the translators' story. Glad I did!

OMG, still can't believe they would change that!

I guess the reason behind is they loathed LB anime so much so they're too tired to care?

Here a screenshot from someone about UTW loathed the LB anime.

Heh, you act like it's a massive change. I don't think it's really that big in the grand scheme of things. After all, Riki himself said that it didn't matter whether they won or not.

True. It doesn't really matter whether they win or not since realistically that won't affect to the main story either way.

I think that it's definitely a change that can affect the viewer. The intent was to display just how happy the Little Busters were to be doing their best and supporting eachother as a team. That they could be so joyful in the end despite losing by a large margin really enhances how much their bond has strengthened. Whereas the fansubs make it look like they were celebrating a victory. Both are celebrations, but one gives more meaning in my opinion.

I agree that it completely changes the sentiment of them all saying, "The Little Busters! are the best!" at the end. In one sense they are congratulating themselves for winning, in the other sense they are saying that they are the best even though they lost because they are the best of friends, because they help each other to be the best they can be.

And doesn't it make you wonder what else they changed all season???

If they wanted to do troll subs they should have at least added "(just kidding, they lost)" at the bottom of the screen or something...

So the fansubs are wrong and Little Busters have lost? It makes sense, they don't care about the final result, the baseball match wasn't epic, just a relax moment with friends.
I feel they butchered the epicness of the match, the missing manga moments, the tension of the day before, it's all missing.
But the ending was nice.

It's been a long 26 weeks, hasn't it?

I'm not sure what to think about the adaption. To be frank, I haven't played the VN and don't know when I'll get the chance to do so therefore I can't properly judge the adaption's quality itself. Viewing the show as a standalone work, I admit that I enjoyed watching some of the stories (such as Komari's and Nishizono's) but all in all I felt like something was missing. Fortunately, the plot was mostly good enough to make me look forward to its sequel. Judging by the preview, the other girls such as Rin will get their arcs and 'the secret of the world' will be revealed- another plotline I'm greatly interested in. 8/10

Pretty much my thought, and I'd add that I still can't believe how such a hype show would get such a little budget. Seriously the art and animation was very inconsistent throughout the serie.

Oh, and Fuck Komari's seiyuu, the most annoying voice I've ever heard in my life.

I loved the final episode. Everything was so happy.

Loved how Kyousuke asked Riki to surpassed him and how all of the females encouraged Riki to do his best and just be himself.

I love all of the characters relationship with each other. They just make you feel to happy inside.

The trailer for Refrain was awesome, it totally got me pumped. Sadly though if it airs at fall 2013 or later than that I'll have trouble watching it when it airs T_T

Kengo finally lost it! Or he got it, however you look at it. O_O
Great ending wherein all the characters thanked Riki once more for what he has done for them. He'll even be the leader from now on.

Overall a great series so far. Little melodramatic at times, but that's Key for ya. Haven't read the VN, so I don't have an opinion on the adaptation itself though. 8/10.

Now onto ~Refrain~. I've heard alot about this, sad things mainly. T_T

Well, I can at least tell from that pic that the quality of the show is definitely going to be better next season. I mean, the details look much better than the top pic (although I guess that could be because that frame only appeared for a second, but hey, I'm trying to find positives here!!)

That's true. That top pic is shown a few times through the flashbacks and I only realised in the last episode that his jacket was missing (and why switch wooden to steel bat?). Well i'll look past it since its a minor detail and they'll fix it in season 2.

For all the things LB had, it was a mediocre show.
The only light for me was the Nishizono arc, that I loved and made me cry.
It has a somewhat strong ending but I wont let me be swayed by it.
It dosen't deserve a 6 I feel, but a really really weak 7 :/
Still looking forward to the second season.

And its obvious that Rin and Riki shall end up together. But they will have some extreme trials to face.

Decent adaption, I especially liked how it ended. Can't contain my hype for Refrain either, I'm really hoping it will be as epic in the anime as it was in the VN.

8/10

I'd say that this is pretty much on par with the previous Key titles (with the exception of Clannad Afterstory).

Forgive my ignorance as I haven't read the visual novel but:

My friend told me there was gonna be a huge twist at the end and I didn't see it... Was she just joking or is the twist gonna be part of season 2?

All I saw in Little Busters was a group of kids solving personal problems and forming a baseball team for 26 episodes... I was so hyped for this anime cause of Key and I forced myself to hold out to the end with hopes of a crazy ending but I just didn't see it...

Was there something I missed?

The ending felt kinda strange... it felt so bland and generic. This was decent overall. This was overhyped for sure and the first few episodes were disappointing because I was expecting much more.
Saigusa's arc was probably the one I liked most, Nishizono's and Kud's arc were also pretty good but all could've been much better.

Probably a very good source, but a different and more generic-feeling adaptation, it was decent. 5/10.
Refrain seems interesting, but I can't tell whether it is overhyped or truly good. I'll watch it though.

Well, I'd say that the reason it was over-hyped was because of Refrain anyway. No one knew that Refrain was being split into a separate season, so they assumed it would be this season when it was first announced, therefore lots of hype. Little Busters without Refrain isn't anything to call home about, but with Refrain it makes everything make so much more sense, makes everything so much better and also uses up like all of your tissues. I, personally, feel it's worth the hype and with how they adapted this season, I'm sure they'll adapt Refrain perfectly, as the hard parts are out of the way (except for Kurugaya's route). All they really have to do is follow Refrain word for word. They have plenty of episodes to do everything in Rin2 and Refrain so it should be perfect.

I don't know if prologue is the right word... but this season really was needed. The first season has helped put the pieces together for the heart of the story to be able to actually start now. We need to cook the food with it's right ingredients, before we can start eating it.

...and your friend's right. There will be a twist... Actually, there will be more than one twist.

Finally, Kengo! Out of the male characters he was the one who grew most on me in the VN and it seems that same will hold true for the anime adaptation. I hate Kyousuke and I'm not that much of a fan of Masato either, though Muscle Sensation is funny. The episode itself was okay, but it felt to me that something was missing. And even more scenes for Komari, my ears have suffered enough already, give some screen time to others...3/5.

As for the season...I don't think J. C. Staff messed up anything royally, though I'm convinced KEY had a lot to say in that matter. The problem is that it felt like it was made for those who have played VN, I'm not sure how enjoyable newcomers found it. They didn't really adapt the story, just animated the scenes, I hope at least a handful of people understand what I'm trying to get at. A huge bonus for Kud's mom in any case. Quality and writing issues aside, it was okay. 6/10.

Trust me, it will. Jun Maeda himself, the writer of Clannad, Little Busters, Angel Beats and many other key works, claimed that Rin2 and the Refrain route were the greatest things he'd ever written and also that he'd never be able to write something better than it (he thinks anyway, he wasn't making a definite statement). So yeah. BE PSYCHED!!!
