GUYS, THIS IS GOOD NEWS. (don't mind the caps)
if the characters were described more in detail than in the game, then Key is definitely with them in creating the storyboard for the anime. It will be logical, right? Who else would describe their own characters other than Key themselves? So don't worry about J.C. Staff's adaptation of the game. The story would probably not mess up since Key will be with them :) trust Key. They know what they are doing :)

He said the length of the TV series is significantly long, but still it was necessary to shorten the original story to adapt it to the limited number of episodes.
Simple solution - make more episodes. As long as producers focus on making seasons instead of actual series decline in anime quality will continue. Why do you think older series are usually considered better? Because then producers thought how many episodes they need to fit in the story, not how much story they can fit in given number of episodes.

I'm gonna at least give JC Staff a chance. But my expectations may be lowered a bit.

DOn't mind them, they want to read between the lines, let them.

And you are correct, Key is the one who asked for more in-depth exploration of the relationships between Rin and the rest of the Little Busters girls. Do remember in the game we mostly got their relationships with Riki and all the character development between Rin and them was off-camera. Possibly this just means we will get to see some extra events between them (possibly in exchange for the romance scenes they will have to eliminate for every heroine that's not Rin).

Pleasantly surprised by this news. First, it seems like Key is watching over JC Staff closely, and JC Staff seems very motivated to bring a quality anime.

I don't see how things could go wrong. Well, the team still seems pretty weak, but as I said, with Key watching over them and them being motivated AND under pressure, I think this might be a success.

I guess some people will dislike the anime just because they are J.C. Staff haters.
People should remember J.C. Staff can produces good anime too.
And they proved that the Character Design will be good in the trailer. Moreover Key is supervising the whole thing. It can't be bad.

I wouldn't be completely sure but at least we can't judge it along with Tsukihime a project that wasn't even properly supervised by Type-Moon or properly funded to begin with. And there's nothing else to properly compare it to (everything else are Light Novel and manga adaptations or original series) let alone the fact JC STAFF has as many hit as they got misses. So we can't pre-judge it just because of the false pre-conception they botch ALL adaptations.

Noooo... I wanted it done omnibus style like Amagami

Omnibus worked okay for Amagami but it is not a style I want to see done often, and certainly not for an adaptation of this magnitude. Nobody was intended to take the Amagami anime super seriously on an emotional level, so the constant resets were fine. ust watching the protagonist go through a bunch of hypercondensed stories for one girl each time destroys any chance of story depth in animated form.

The thing is that Amagami didn't feel repetitive. If Little Busters had to be in omnibus format, the common route would have to be repeated every time. Although there are changes in the common route depending on who you're aiming for, it would still be awfully repetitive.

So this is actually Visual Arts saying they're as scared as the fans, and are just trying to calm the fans down as well as themselves. At least they admit it was not the best studio to choose if they had a choice.
Of course it still has to be made, so there's really no reason to break it down already, but still it's freaking JC Staff doing Little Busters!
Let's hope 'significaly long' doesn't mean just 24 eps in 1 season. I hope they'll at least split it in to seasons of 24 like Clannad.

I never heard of (nor cared to hear about) J.C. Staff, just recently I heard they made Toradora and Shakugan no Shana, animes I love and hate respectively. Frankly I have no opinion about the group, but really find it interesting that even the game creator showed disbelief for them and actually are calling the fans to share their hope for the best.

Well, if they're contractually prohibited from doing what the fans fear the most, then I don't see reason for the early panic.

Engix said:
Dont worry the fact that they even have to reassure the fans that the anime will not be that bad is bad new in its own right

It's actually in order to avoid self fulfilling prophecies. Considering what I have read so far not just in this forum, but everywhere else, the simple fact that the anime's made by J.C.Staff might condemn it to failure even if the final result it's damn awesome.

They have a fairly easy way to send Riki off on all the routes to be honest, all they have to do is tweak the stories a bit, which would have happened anyway, and have them all sent as tasks for Rin and Riki to complete, much like would happen in Rin's route anyway.

Key better watch J.C. like hawks and better bribe them if need it so they will do a good job, leave no disgruntled or overstressed staff member unaccounted for.

Advice for Key: You need extra lawyers and get the judge on your side, a last minute injunction at your discretion will save this sacred series from being terrible even if it means a longer wait for us fans.

I will not say this will be good until I watch ep 1 and 2

I will laugh my ass off if J.C. Staff will make it the best anime of the fall season, and all haters would start to like them, because they didn't screw it up.

There's only one way to get fan trust back, and that's to do a highly anticipated adaptation and do it right ( hopefully )

What makes you think it isn't? This has the potential to be the biggest seller of their history (previous owner of that title is Railgun at about 23k, and Clannad sold nearly 30k). Plus, it can give them back much of the lost respect they've had over the years.

The very reason I adored Clannad so much was that it treated the characters as members of a single cast, not as a laundry list of "routes" to check off one by one (this is why omnibus kinda bores me). While one girl was chosen, all the other girls stayed relevant, and when each girl got some individual focus, it was generally not just a one-on-one with Tomoya. The other girls mattered quite a bit and interacted with each other as friends, resulting in many of my favorite scenes.

The entire cast of Little Busters! are a lot more relevant to the story, not matter what particular route you're on, than the cast of Clannad, hell you could do a specific route in Clannad and never have interactions with certain characters (mainly Kotomi, and Fuko) that does not happen in Little Busters!

Well IMO people should let up on all the JC Staff hate, at least they've acknowledged the hate and that they earnestly want to please the fans.

Either way, how the hell can you hate on an adaptation that hasn't even come out yet. Just because past experiences prove otherwise doesn't mean that all future projects will turn out the same. Hate on it once it comes out people.

The second paragraph of the news had been discussed in the previous thread already.

Basically "Rearranging the arcs" won't change many things, honestly... For example, they are going to put Komari's route to the front, but that's it.

And after Baba's tweet, I had no other choice than keeping my expectation low and watching J.C once again after finsihing the game...

Done decent = I will be disappointed.

Done bad = Faith on J.C won't come back anymore. Hoping for Little Busters! (2006) or sth like that.

Done good/epic/masterpiece = Faith on J.C restored. I hope they will change their strategy from "mass production" to "quality production"...And judging by their recent announcements, they had been reducing their anime for this season and didn't announce many anime for next seasons, which is a good thing.

JC Staff works vary in animation quality, just like every other studio. They have some pretty good staff here and there and if they have enough funding, they can probably pull something good off

not that I care about a LB adaption, but it's not like this title is something that requires the absolute best talent in the industry. Hell if they can get some H&C/Toradora/Ano Natsu people to work on it, it'll probably turn out alright.

Yeah they have some good stuff, but none of them are working on it lol. The directors for Honey and Clover, Toradora, Ano Natsu, Nodame Cantobile, etc are not the ones making it. Instead we get the guy who did Hatsukoi Limited, Kill Me Baby, and some movie that tanked so bad in theaters that it didn't even get a dvd/bluray release. Forgive me if I don't have much faith.
