I watch my anime in blocks of 3/4 episodes. So I'll watch the OP on the first episode and the ED of the last. (Unless I Love/Hate the song)

Also, if I know an Anime will have a little bonus scene at the end of the ED. I won't skip it. The amount of times I've missed hilarious ending scenes because I decided to stop watching as soon as the ED started is saddening.

I always check to make sure there isn't an ending scene though-- I hate missing those too!

I always watch the openings, and occasionally the endings. (I also have encodes of the all openings of anime I ever saw and about 20% of the all the endings, so if I ever feel nostalgic , I'll just watch the openings/endings a few times)

That makes sense. I never watch TV episodes back-to-back without some length of time between to decompress, so when I go to watch the next episode the OP and ED feel fresher.

If I'm watching an anime and the OP song comes on, I just browse through the forums and such really quickly until it's over, then switch back. The only times I don't do this are when the opening visuals are really beautiful and I don't want to miss out on them. (Clannad AS, AnoHana, Another, Toradora!, Yuru Yuri) I used to skip OP's all the time, but after I watched Higursahi Kai for some reason I started to watch them.

The only ending theme songs I've bothered to sit through are, "Why or Why Not" from Higurashi's first season ending (mostly because of Rika's commentary at the end, and the song in general) and "Dango Daikazoku" from Clannad. Just because it's beautiful. ;^;..
Dont touch me I'm in despair.

Another old topic.

As for me, I haven't watched anime for a bit and just started from last months, so all the OP/EDs sounds okay. I skip ones I think are bad but for example, Aquarion Evol's OP/ED is fantastic, both to the ears and the animation (the ED especially is amazing). Even if I watch 3-4 episodes in the same day, that OP/ED is amazing regardless.

If i like the opening or ending I'll listen to it each time, unless something interesting was happening in the last episode and I just want to see what happens next I'll skip the opening no matter how much I like it xD

I'll listen to the OP during the first episode and if they aren't good, I'll skip them in the future. I don't usually listen to ED's unless they start playing them in the final moments of the anime (I LOVE WHEN THE ANIME DOES THAT!)

Sad thing is that I had always skipped the Steins;Gate OP during my first watch, but on my second rewatch I realized how good of a song "Hacking to the Gate" is!

The only anime I have really watched is naruto and shippuuden (since i am only a few months old to anime and there are about 400 episodes or more combined and I am nearing the end)

Incidentally I do not listen to the music since it is so unbearably awful on shippuuden. They try to do a whole emo/post punk take on the theme which is just awful.. as are the translated lyrics about screaming pain and a girl cutting her own hair..

Naruto had a good one at season 1.. The kinda old school rock song but I believe that is it.

I am looking forward to progressing from naruto as I am sure there are countless better works of anime out there and I have spent well over 100 hours in the past few months watching it. Many tearful moments

Yes I skip a vast majority of OP and ED themes.Due to the fact most OP and ED themes being in another language most of it just sounds like incomprehensible or irritating noise. There are a handful of OP and ED themes that sound alright in Japanese like for example the OP to nightwalker and Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales. The OP to Ergo Proxy is pretty good. I really wish the Dub licensing companies would put some effect in and dub the OP and ED themes because when they do dub them they are pretty good like the OP and ED themes to Fruits Basket or the Blue Gender.

I almost never skip over the op and ed in anime, and if i do its because i have already listend to them 3 or 4 times and i just cant do it anymore. Alot of the time i dislike a op or ed but after hearing it a few times it begins to grow on me. Then after seeing it 5 or 6 times and if i have a emotional investment in the anime i start to realy love the songs. A good example is the naruto shup ending "you can do it", i didnt like it at first, but after hearing it 10 times and then puting it on my ipod, i have grown to fucking love it. I have gone so far as to put about 100 anime op and ed on my ipod (the full versions of the songs) and i have to say that they are my top played songs now.

I like alot of different types of music, from rock and bluegrass to classical to screaming metal, and now i can say i LOVE japanese pop and rock. I think its alot like food, at frist you dont like it, then you get used to it and soon you cant get enough of it. Musical taste is one of the ways anime has changed my outlook on life, and my veiw on what is good or acceptable.

Depends if the song is good/bad. I've never skipped the first OP of HxH (the old one) and there was a point where all I care about Umineko was the OP. But that other OP from Death Note was so unbearable I had to take off my headset when I first heard it play.

If there are multiple openings I watch them at least once.

I can't see myself ever skipping OPs or EDs. They're just part of the episode for me, and when I sit down to watch anything I want to relax and not worry about hitting the "next chapter" button (or even worse, manually skipping to the end of it when there aren't any chapters). Even if you want to expend that effort to save only 3 minutes per episode, you run the risk of missing new content.

Take Baccano!, for example: episode 1 doesn't have the episode preview that later episodes have, stuck between Chane Laforet and Nice Holystone. If you were to only watch the OP for episode 1, you'd have no idea that you were missing this content in later episodes.

There are also clues in Another's OP from episode to episode (maybe -- there's been a bit of debate on that), so I can't imagine skipping it.
