Bi, which is never a bad thing for girls

Or for guys.
I think typical straight guys like bisexual girls as it increases the chances of a threesome with two women.

FYI i'm straight, just not typical. =p Not really bothered about relationships or sex.

True I don't mind bis in real life, I would like one as long as she isn't a slut who will go after everyone (she needs to have me and one established girlfriend) but in anime/manga it's ok unless cheating is involved then it just kills it for me.

Another yaoi --> gay yuri --> lesbian thread..
I'll stick to my ideals and second this

Liking a yuri/yaoi anime is different to being sexually aroused by it. I've seen both and it hasn't affected my orientation whatsoever.

Yuri and yaoi are not made for homossexuals.

An alternative form of ganbang, envolving supernatural creatures? Easier to make since you don't have to make like 5 diferent guys

Also tentacles is more tasteful than gangrape by 5-6 guys, trust me it's not pleasant to look at and rather have vines, branches, or tentacles doing the dirty work.

If you're female and read it, you must have atleast some attraction to women. If you're male and read Yaoi, you must have atleast some attraction to men.

I think those sorts of Manga are MADE to be for people who are interested in that sex. That's the way I see it anyway.

It's like guys, you find that some read Yuri because they like the idea of female on female, and girls read Yaoi because they like the idea of male on male.

But if you're interested in deliberately going out and reading it (I don't really think this counts with Shojo-ai as much, since it's light romance not containing sexual situations) , I think you definitely have to be slightly bi-curious.

Well, they're not. Special shounen ai, yaoi, which is made for girls. The whole relationship is a fantasy, in real life it's completly diferent. Bara is ment for gay men, idk if there is a similar genre to female on female.
Yuri and shoujo ai is made for guys.

Deleted numerous pointless/trivial posts. Please put thought in to replies if you want to post.

As for me, I'm not really a fan of romance at all, whether yuri, yaoi or straight. Though that's usually just because canon pairings are stupid and unbelievable. Hypothetically I'd have no problem with any of it if the story appealed in other ways (eg sufficient comedy).

But I digress. I don't think someone liking a particular genre makes them anything. They just like stuff that genre has to offer, for any of countless reasons.

You don't see what I mean. I meant that I feel that this genre Manga is made for those who are interested in either sexual pairing, either female x female or male x male. Whether it be male readers or female readers, it's made for those that are interested in homosexual pairings.

Meaning that when I said "MADE to be for people who are interested in that sex." that sex was referring to if they were reading about Yuri or Yaoi pairings.

Well, it's perfectly normal for guys to like Yuri, but if they like Yaoi, I'd imagine they'd have some form of sexual attraction to it because, quite frankly, I... just don't see why a guy would like that otherwise =.=

As for girls, I don't really have the right to comment of this but I find it almost surprising that so many girls like Yaoi... haha. Either way, there's nothing wrong with a girl liking it, and not to sound biased but it just seems a fair lot more normal for a girl to like Yuri than for a boy to like Yaoi. Whatever the case though, if you enjoy it... there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't have to mean anything...

Lolicon, on the other hand, is something I just don't get. I don't like kids irl, and I'm certainly not attracted to them in anime/manga. They can be cute, but nothing more... that's just the way I see it :p

I am a straight guy...
I occasionally will read yaoi manga, but only on occasion, and only when it is highly recommended, just to keep an unbiased opinion of manga I feel it is important to read all genres if you don't offend easily... I think it depends on how much you read and you intentions and feelings at the time... (just cause you see a dick in the locker room, don't mean your gay... you should be comfortable enough with your sexual identity you think nothing of it; although you may want to reconsider if you look and think..."that is just fine... real dandy like" :P )

I can't really say how straight guys feel but I know that there are quite a few who like yaoi too.

I don't think reading/watching yaoi/yuri makes you gay/lesbian.
I think they should be considered like other manga/anime genres.

That's all about the looks, you have girls drooling over muscled men and you have girls that prefer guys with a more feminine look. The same applies to buys.
Is like asking if a person who likes fat people wishes to be or is fat.

^I'm straight and I like to read some shounen ai, and I don't think that I might be gay nor do I feel attracted to other guys, in other words I'm certain about my sexual orientation.
I also don't like yuri

Hmmm,, This is a tough question....I think fiction is much more "cleaner"+"safer" + "easier" compare to reality?
All you need to do is to turn on the monitor and the yuri/Yaoi is just right in front of you.^_^
I think most people who prefer Yuri/Yaoi in Anime are not lesbian/gay.

I don't get this, How can I watch two guys fucking each other and not be gay???

If I watch gay porn, it's most likely because I'm gay or bi-curious, I think the same should be applied with Yaoi.

I'm not hating on anyone, I don't have any ill feelings towards gays, but; if I started to watch Yaoi, I would think I'm no longer playing for the "straight" team.

I don't think that's the same, killing is frowned upon by society, there's nothing wrong with being gay.

Yaoi may be fiction in terms of the characters and story, but the actual act is something that happens in real life EVERYDAY, killing is not OK by any terms, unless it's a war.

This reminded me of something from a movie or show I've seen. Don't recall what it was exactly, but the joke/arguement was that everyone's a little gay/curious. Sure, you watch straight porn, but don't you love it when the guy blows all over the girl?

So no, I don't believe watching/reading yaoi/yuri makes you gay. Everyone's just a little curious and everyone watches it for different reasons.

Well, when you watch a blowjob scene, most of the time you are fantasizing about being that guy who is fucking the girl or being the guy who just cum shot all over some whore.

But mostly you enjoy watching the girl get fucked or licked or whatever, the point is you are there to see and enjoy the GIRL, not the guy.

I would say 70% of the porn I watch is Lesbians, 20% 3-somes or some kind of scene involving 1 guy and 2+ girls, and finally 10% 1 girl 1 guy scenes.

NOW, what the hell can I fantasize with watching 2 guys fuck each other???

You don't necessarily have to fantasize anything. You can just watch 2 guys fuck each other with an old kindergarten friend of yours just for the lols. Just like that, someone could have a reason for watching it without being gay or curious at all! :)

Don't be so sure, you are still a teenager. maybe you do have a thing for women and you don't know it yet. Maybe you are bisexual?

Well anyway i can't say about women since am not one but considering women magazines still have women on there covers i will say a woman body is considered as a pleasant side even if it's not your sexual preference.
Men on the other hand don't work that way.

So i think there is a bigger possibility of a man being gay if he likes yaoi than a woman being gay if she likes yuri. For straight men the view of manly naked bodies doing shit is like torture far more than it is for women watching women doing shit. I find it very hard to beleive that a guy isn't at least bisexual if he likes yaoi.

As i say girls are like cats. We all find them cute even if we obviously have no sexual desire. The same goes with beautiful women. They are a pretty side even by asexual standards (Notice how gay men still find girls beautiful while lesbians mostly find men disgusting). So an act between two beautiful creatures is not as bad to watch for a straight woman.

For the same reason women are a lot more tolerable to all the fanservice thrown for men. I tell you now. If anime had male fanservice in the quantity anime now have female fanservice, all straight males would stop watching anime. Yet girls still watch anime despite seeing cute fanservice girls every few minutes. Why? Because it's let awful for them.

Of course if there is a place where a straight man might tolerate watching gay male staff then that is probably yaoi anime and manga since they look further from reality. Hell half the guys look almost like girls.

YES, I have to agree with this, I can't find it in me to watch that type of stuff, I don't have anything against gays, but watching two males do that really puts me in an uncomfortable position and it is like torture, I have watched very few anime that have included yaoi scenes (Ouran was probably the only one) and I was able to get through it only because it was a comedy, if it had been serious, I WOULD NOT HAVE WATCHED IT. I also find it hard to believe that a male can enjoy Yaoi and NOT be gay.

Girls are biologically better looking and have more sexuality than men, I can understand girls watching ecchi and even yuri anime and not being lesbians. In fact I remember a female friend once watching R+V and enjoying it, I asked her if she didn't mind the panty shots and the fact that it was meant for guys, she said that she enjoyed watching the comedy and that the girls looked hot and that there was nothing wrong with enjoying an anime that featured bishoujos.

The only problem comes when these said "manly naked bodies" are more feminine than girls and their faces cuter than most girls.

East Asian male beauty usually comes from femininity, unlike Western male beauty with the manliness factor. This is why guys can enjoy reading/watching yaoi.

As for sexual arousal, there are many ways you may have not yet discovered. You may come to discover that gay sex can be more satisfying than straight sex...

And yes, it makes you slightly bisexual. Mainly because how perfect and cute the guys look like.

Don't tell me you're surprised, it was always this way. Find a female who hates lesbians. It's obvious that they're more tolerant than men towards gays. Also, I've yet to meet a girl my age who's not at least bi-curious and wouldn't want to try it with a girl at least once.

No, you missed the point. If you are a girl you can look to other girls without being homossexual or bi-curious or whatever you may call it, but if you are a guy you can't look to other guys because that's just being gay.

And for the record, Monad, anime also has fanservice for girls, why do you think they put bishounen and all those romantic scenes when they could go trhough without it. And shota is also fanservice for girls.

Well, over here girls can kiss each other without being called lesbians and having people despise them because people here accept that behaviour as a symbol of friendship or cuteness...I am talking even about a kiss on the lips.

On the other hand, guys who do something like this are immediately labelled gay...well that's not even really accepted here.

So in all I think that lesbians are more accepted than gays.

True, but I think they are both accepted for the most part. Not many women hate lesbians, but quite a few men hate gays.
Funny thing about sexuality is, it's a modern term, in older times, people used to have sexual relationships with whoever they wanted, though there was never gay marriage. Pretty much, "every hole was a goal" in those times. XD

I don't know if there are more girls who are homossexual or if there are more guys that are gay, but like shadowsword said, lesbians are easily more accepted than gays (applying gay, to homossexual man). Or 'lesbian-behaviour', since sometimes even if they kiss and etc they are not homossexual.

Is like girls going to the bathroom together, and two guys going to the bathroom together, what would you instantaniously think?
Who are you to say that you don't believe in Santa?

A straight man finds gay sex disgusting, it has nothing to do with machoness. If you're into aesthetic female bodies your whole life, you won't find watching two big, hairy, muscular guys having sex appealing.
