Halo pan must be yummy~ Hikari was pretty clever. Rakka, be happy, at least you didn’t smell like carrots.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

This show is just so relaxing.

I think Hikari might be my favorite character. Using the halo mold to make doughnuts, genius. xD

i love how every episode so far, has had progression and more back ground into their way of living, so now they seem to be only allowed to work in the oldest places, the communication through bells was an interesting little add-on although rather frustrating, but something tells me things wont stay like this...

i like it alright so far. I have the feeling this is going to be one of those shows that really picks up once the world is established. I like that they're taking their time with that too.

I've always had trouble eating carrots too.
One baby carrot is enough for me.
Hate the texture and dislike the taste.

I can't believe there wasn't at least one person who liked carrots :O I don't love them or anything, but they're not THAT terrible are they? So far, it's still mostly world building, but it's nice.

I like how we get a glimpse of how troubled Reki is when Rakka finds her fallen out of bed.
It's great foreshadowing.
For anyone hoping for Reki to get more screen time, just be patient :]

Come on kids, carrots are not that bad!

Is this some kind of purgatory they are in?

We got to see more of the Toga this episode. It seems one of them is allowed to speak and the rest must use hand symbols. It was interesting how they used those bells for communication. The slice of life in this episode wasn't too bad. I normally don't like slice of life, but this was fairly enjoyable. We got a little more information on the crows this episode. The kid said that they could just be trying to be friends with the Haibane rather than not. Maybe they could be guides to the people or something of significance like that if the people interacted with them.

What a pleasant, gentle episode. Liked it quite a bit more than the first two, surprisingly.

It would be awesome if the communicator could use his spirit voodoo shit to tell Hikari misused the ring mold, then had her publicly executed to set an example. :3

Well, I’ll be honest. That was a pointless episode. The previous episodes, while just as slow, were unveiling the premise, so it had the intrigue and mystery that came with the premise. The previous episodes at least had points to them. What this episode did was establish the type of humor this show has. All the episode had was a bunch of humor. The episode also introduced the characters of Hikari and Kuu to us and the Communicator with his temple. Other than that though, there wasn’t much at all. I found myself tuning out a lot and having to repeat because I reached a punchline whose set-up I missed. It didn’t fly by as fast as the previous episodes.

The show looks to have very slow pacing for its entire run. This requires the viewer to get into a certain mindset to watch it, and it’s understandable that the show would turn off people who can’t or do not want to get into that mindset when watching anime.

After reading the discussion page, tradition does seem to play a really big part in this show. I wouldn’t be surprised if it played a big part in the show’s core themes.

While I'm still really into this series. And found the beginning with the Communicator/Toras to be really unsettling and interesting. I'm a little impatient for the plot to get underway. I normally don't mind shows taking their time. But this series is fairly short. And I've been told it gets really good and sort of sheds its slice of life trappings.

I may have found the second half kind of slow. But episodes like this are still pretty necessary. In a show that has such strong atmosphere it feels essential to build up the characters and setting. And there's already some interesting seeds being planted. What with Reki's caginess at the beginning. The joke with using the halo mold for the donuts was pretty funny. Is that why her hair is so staticky? Don't know if that would matter.

So based on what the old lady said, the Feathers must experience some ageing. I wonder how long they live. Do the adult Feathers live in the Federation's tower? If they even exist, that is.

Especially when they have same language and they speak to them
It's like talking to a yes/no robot :P

Carrot is bitter? Wait a minute.. what kind of trick is this?
I tasted a lot of carrot and most of them are sweet

Hikari is interesting xD

Are carrots bitter? Is that a thing? I've never tasted a carrot that's bitter.

...That aside, this was a good episode. It had a nice mix of content, adding some mystery in the first half and some nice slice-of-life in the second. The entire thing about Hikari and the halo-maker was cute.

The ending is weird, but in a good way. The visuals remind me of Evangelion's ending and the song reminds me of Coraline's soundtrack, strangely. It sounds otherworldly.

They can be if they are grown poorly, I've usually on experienced it with undergrown carrots and bad brands of grocery store carrots tho.

I'm really liking this show so far. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the characters are very nice to follow (I particularly like Reki, she's got a great personality, but everyone else is very likable too, especially Hikari who's just so much fun), and there are a lot of interesting details that might lead to something even more interesting. I just hope it won't become too dark though, and instead will keep its relaxing vibes even if things get heavier.
Oh and just a little detail, but I'm surprised Kuu and Kana turned out being girls, they look quite masculine. And then, does it mean only girls can be among the Haibane ? I wonder.
Anyway, this show might become a favorite of mine if it keeps being this good. I hope it won't disappoint.

Time flies with this series.
So they are all girls, huh.
It makes sense as to why did the kids smell cake on Rakka, heh.
This anime is cozy, and the pacing feels good, but I swear I can't help but feel there's something there, lurking, waiting... There's something unsettling with this anime.

Never thought of carrots as bitter. Cooked carrots are sweet, and even raw carrots have subtle sweet taste when chewn enough. Maybe it depends on the type of carrot, or their environment of production.
"What is trash to us, is food for the crows" draws parallels to the haibane having to wear used clothing.

It mentions earlier that the caretaker lives with them in Old Home, along with the Young Feathers.
