As usual, Riche thinks of clever tactics for plans. This time, it involved dealing with Michel.

The finale also had moments between her and Arnold because seriously, they are the core pair of the show. Their relationship has truly bloomed and evolved over time since the first episode. Proud of the both tbh, for how far they've come. It was an enjoyable anime imo.

It's a confrontation over the gunpowder.

Rishe and Michel clash over gunpowder. Michel aims to see the world's fate by entrusting gunpowder's power to Arnold, while Rishe argues that even harmful things can bring joy, urging him to reconsider. She leans on the bonds she's forged and her alliance with Kyle. Can Rishe's cunning and her past life's lessons sway Michel? And how will Arnold react when he witnesses "it"?

Yeah, unless you're some kind of poison expert like Maomao, there's no way you'd survive, let alone enjoy it. Anyway, the gunpowder did make the fireworks, as expected. At least Michel finally made something harmless... It's funny how people actually liked it. They were about to arrest him over harmless fireworks... Arnold seems to be the only one with common sense here. Sure, some punishment might be fair, but arresting him? That's just too much. Anyway, they finally got engaged, although they were practically already there, so it's just Rishe getting a ring a dozen episodes late... What's even the point of asking if you can touch someone when you're already holding their hand and kissing it?

Rishe's main goal now isn't reliving life; it's staying with Arnold till death do them part.

This show isn't a Villainess anime, but it's still good. Thank goodness for that, because apparently, Villainess shows are the new isekai.

The pressing issue for Rishe at this very moment, facing Michel starting a war, amidst the high tensions between both Arnold and Kyle. Still, the black gunpowder that he created isn't just poison, but also can be used for fireworks, as Rishe notes that she is reminded of the Aurora Borealis, used as a beauty when put to splendid use. All's well that ends well for the conflict, which is also partly thanks to Theodore following her request to scout for areas to escort and place the black powder to use. Even as Lawvine wants to put Michel under interrogation, so does the will of Arnold's collaboration with Coyolles did to reverse his arrest. All of Arnold's thought process may be under the guise to reach a consensus to all, and Rishe's boundaries to convince Arnold, it may have not been needed from the very start, though the fireworks are something that she wants Arnold to see.

Rishe may have single-handedly resolved the conflict between Galkhein and Coyolles, but in truth, Kyle's kingdom also does have their technology and research to thank for. Even as Kyle has his reservations of Rishe being Arnold's fiancée, at the very least now, he she has earned her reputation towards him. Still though, the only gift of Rishe being a ring from Arnold's goodwill, he feels contrived that she has been faking her way for him, even when she feels genuine and wants to be treated like a princess, which her goading forces Arnold to propose to her.

Rishe's already thinking far ahead of her life with him, and yet he still has his rizz to reassure her of the future they're going to make together as a couple.

One of the best villainess shows ever, I'm not kidding. This is a product of substance and quality.

I hope the civilians were informed of the fireworks, if I was one of them I'd think that it's an enemy attack lol
In Japanese, fireworks is 花火 (hanabi) - lit. "flower fire". I think knowing this makes the scene at 13:03 a bit better.

Loved the last scene, Rishe becoming as red as a tomato was cute.

Nice solution devised by Rishe, killing two birds with one stone dealing with Michel who also now has a use for Arnold which makes the alliance now even more appealing. Arnold putting the ring on the blushing Rishe was cute, I love for those moments and seeing Arnold being sweet is always a pleasure.

My favourite show of the Villainess genre so far, hope for a second season!

Kyle finally got the deal. Michel has a change of heart. I hope we see more of Lawvine. Rishe finally wears the ring! Arnold asking for consent always makes me giddy. I hope we get a season 2 .

PS: I'm curious about the emperor. Maybe I should read the novel.

Well it’s been a pleasure watching peak villainess with yall on a weekly basis. I’m gonna miss Rishe and Arnold so much, but onto the LN we go

Awesome finale, everything that makes this series great rolled into one. Rishe using Michel’s own logic against him and showing him that poison can indeed bring happiness in the form of fireworks was beautiful. The teacher becomes the student. Even though Michel had bad intentions these last couple eps, it’s a testament to how close he and Rishe were in that previous life that she still had nothing but love and adoration for him.

They really played with our expectations last week by making it look like Arnold completely rejected the tech sharing agreement with Coyolles. Turns out all of our fears were unfounded and Kyle’s got himself an ally. Thanks in no small part to Rishe’s negotiations. Little by little the future is definitely changing.

Rishe in her previous lives would’ve jumped at the chance to study under Michel, but right now her priority is learning more about Arnold and of course preventing the war. What’s crazy to think is that after 12 eps, we still don’t know much about him! Definitely a set up for reading the LN if I’ve ever seen one. So much about his motivations and backstory remains a secret.

Omg the ring scene was EVERYTHING. Rishe begging Arnold to put the ring on her finger, him getting down on one knee and asking for permission, raaaaah we won 😭. “I’m not holding my breath, I’ve simply forgotten how to breathe is all” 😩 she damn near turned as red as a tomato there. Without a doubt cutest girl of the season. Don’t think I’ve seen Arnold smile like that yet, and I don’t blame him. I would’ve folded and done anything she asked in that moment too.

I... I didn't expect Arnold to kiss Rishe's ring finger. Omg. Not only did Rishe forget how to breathe but so did I AAAAHH that's too much for my otome kokorooo T---T ♡ *screaming in silent lol*

As some people had predicted before that the gunpowder would become fireworks.. and the agreement with Coyolles was made. Now Kyle can relax a bit more and focus on his health...

After Frieren and Maomao, another one of the best girls departed from this season... I hope this gets a second season sometime in the future whenever that may be... I want to see Arnold and Rishe's wedding ceremony!

There's far more use for gunpowder than simply for guns though. Still without Rishe's memories this could had gotten far more serious. In the end im glad that an alliance between the two states were successfully secured. Arnold putting the ring on her was quite the sweet moment especially Rishe's reactions. Overall a pretty calm finale that managed to resolve the crisis pretty well while ensuring that Cayolles would survive any hostile attention from nearby states.

great final episode.

saw the fireworks bit coming but still loved it and it's always fun seeing rishe make others do a surprised pikachu face.

in general, i really enjoy the female led isekai/light novel like shows, even when they're not that great usually, but this one was definitely a cut above the rest.

would love to see this get another season, but even if it doesn't, i enjoyed it throughout and am pretty satisfied with how it ended.

Yeah fireworks was the only thing I could think of how to use the gun powders in a good way, so no surprise there. The conclusion to the alliance stuff was quite underwhelming but I'm not really interested in them so whatever. More importantly Rishe x Arnold stuff was sweet af this time. Rishe couldn't stop blushing, she even stopped breathing lol, chill girl. Wish they ended it with a kiss though.

Pretty nice anime, glad I decided to pick this up after all but tbh I found the plots to be quite underwhelming mostly but they had some interesting aspects to them as well. Though what I really liked was Arnold and Rishe too. Hoping for season 2 to have more of em.

Just as I predicted in episode 10 that Rishe will turn the black powder into firework.

The ring-inserting scene, if you know you know, what it's really represent... but here's a hint
Arnold: I'm not wearing gloves right now.
Rishe: It's all right, even without them.

The plot was forcefully and tediously twisted to escape the undesirable result it itself set up so thoroughly. The offered rationalization for the alchemist and "Swiss" nation ark's happy end felt condescending, or maybe logic and common sense was just seen by the author as a minor nuisance. The climax which should have brought a sense of release and joy, felt unearned and irritating.

Definitely an interesting show but it delved into the politics a little too much for my liking. Reminds me of the feeling I got from Ookami to Koushinhryou S2, it’s a little annoying to have it be a bigger theme than the romance in the middle phase.

Op visuals and some of the frame arts of the show are gorgeous, definitely going to miss them.

7/10 from here.

So Rishe ended up turning Michel’s black powered into fireworks after all, I prefer the mining idea I saw folks talking about before which would be more useful than something that just looks pretty but I still really liked this scene, so Rishe isn’t just healing Arnold now, but Michel as well. And this not only dealt with Michel’s scheme, it also worked in establishing an alliance with Prince Kyle’s country after all else failed, so I guess the end of the last episode just looked bad at first glance lol. And after all that was out of the way, it was finally time to see the ring that Arnold got for Rishe a while back, and although Arnold protested putting the ring on Rishe at first, this ended up becoming quite the spicy scene to leave us with, Arnold went harder than he needed to lol but I appreciate it, I’m glad we got something like this to end on.

And just like that there’s no more, my Sundays won’t feel right without my dose of Arnold and Rishe to start the evenings off, it was truly a delight seeing them grow closer over the course of the show, as well as what trials and tribulations Rishe had to deal with to avoid another loop. And speaking of the loops, this was an aspect of the show I really liked, it made for some great scenes where we witnessed her using skills she learned from previous lives, as well as just making her a smart MC. And I really liked the OP and ED for this show, that ED especially, it wasn’t necessarily chill but it was a nice way to come off an episode and had a bit of an epic feel to it. I’d like to get another season of this one for sure.

@Sanitizer_trio I totally get you. I think I would feel the same way if I was anime-only. The main reason is the scenes that didn't make it to the anime and anime's faster pace when compared to the novel. There was more emotional impact involved with the alchemist in the novel for sure and the " 'Swiss' nation story " as you put it (lmao, I died) wasn't entirely the same in the novel. They definitely oversimplified it although at its core it's the same.

Explanation that nobody asked for:
There is an omitted portion of the conversation on the balcony/fireflies scene in which Rishe subtly figured out that Arnold actually hates war and believes he only has skills and a mind that can only be utilized for war. She basically believed in this weakness and that, if he was presented with a way out that was logical enough, even if war was still an equally good option she believed he would take the way out. This didn't seem to end up happening as we saw he was very well ready for a war declaration the moment she left the room.

What ended up happening and that wasn't properly explained is that her teacher did something very noticeable by both the emperor and the people. The moment that happened Arnold's hand were tied, he either lets his father know of the truth or goes for a convenient lie. The whole story that Kyle mentioned about Arnold actually being kind and considerate during war and towards the opposing nations was true because I currently believe he is doing all of that so his father wouldn't, and the emperor is probably the one who is truly cruel. Arnold acts like a villain but was too kind in the end to let them get in his father's hands, whatever the reason was. So Rishe was kinda right, he did take the way out but not because of war but because of his father.
Even the declaration of war was something he planned to do behind his father's back so that probably speaks for itself.

In the novel Lawvine didn't immediately back off at Arnold's words, he only did so after Arnold said "If this escalates, I can't promise my father won't hear of it". Also reminder that Lawvine serves the emperor and not Arnold. So this part will only be completely clear when we find out what is the deal with Arnold's family although what we already know definitely doesn't look good...

Edit:
Rishe even references this omitted part of the balcony conversation in this episode (13:41) even though it wasn't shown before...

As many had predicted, Rishe turned Sensei's bomb into fireworks which helped seal the partnership with Coyolles.

7th Time Loop combines romance, political intrigue, and a unique "redo your life"-esque time travel concept and it all really works quite well.

For as suave and edgy-cool as Arnold is, his archetype is smoothed out with emotional intellect and genuinely being an anti-hero that "needs to be turned". I was never tired of seeing how the villain/hero outcome of his character arc would lead and how Rishe would effectively be like "I can fix him (even after he killed me in my other life)". She's a bit of a tsundere but only just enough to make the romantic moments spicy while keeping her own intellect a high part of her charm. Also, a big part of it is because she's sworn off relationships (seemingly at least) in her previous loops due to her experience with her former fiance and wanting to live for herself for once, she's now finding the lifestyle a bit tough to get back into; remaining trauma perhaps?

I'd also like to congratulate this anime for having political intrigue that didn't bore me. Whether romance, action, drama, or comedy... many fantasy/isekai start with a great premise but then have to deal out the complex political landscape and worldbuilding that hogs most of those show's runtime and replaces potential character growth opportunities with plotplotplotplotplot. They always feel like the same time of stock politics plotlines, written with the confidence of an intermediate Pride and Prejudice fan. Well, this anime can fall into the same pitfalls and its conflicts are solved a bit too quickly and without too much danger. HOWEVER, keeping things centralized around the main character's needs and wants helps steer the story-crafting and plot resolution to some interesting and dramatic places. The two are diametrically opposed in personality and political strategy, but over time need to find the emotional and intellectual truth behind each other's motives to better understand each other. This is great for building a romance story which is about one learning to rule a country with kindness and understanding and the other realizing she can care about more than living a carefree final loop and getting caught up in the turmoil of a romance she can't handle.

The "redo your life" schtick has been done a few times. Sometimes for a jaded adult in the real world to redo high school or college or get that job they really wanted. But most anime watchers might think Re:Zero. Only this time there's just one checkpoint and it's five years in the past. Having 7 different lives (5 years apiece) to learn a skill or profession is a big part of what makes Rishe so savvy and so much wiser beyond her years. As someone who has to compete against the likes of a natural genius like Arnold this makes for a unique balance. I wish we peeked into some of these alternate lives more fully and not just silent 4-second flashbacks whenever Rishe recognizes someone from those former lives. It would be nice to see what Rishe was like during her many apprenticeships and times of learning. We only get to know the foolish naive princess for a short time and then it's just super capable Rishe for the rest of the show. I also am not sure how I feel about her former masters conveniently showing up as minor political boss battles throughout the story. They just feel like they exist for Rishe to flex how much she's grown and how much she's learned from them. But I think demonstrating that would best be shown by an antagonist who poses a problem she isn't quite so prepared to solve. However, I've got hand it the uniqueness of the narrative tool and hopefully it can find some more compelling avenues in future seasons.

@Shimai_ni Thank you for somewhat clearing things out. It is true, anime format often requires skipping on the important story points for the sake of pacing and/or timing. So the manga or LN may be better in that regard. Kumoko is a great example of anime adaptation not doing justice to the LN (when LN was still good).

Actually, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this show so far. This show is obviously intended primarily for female audience, yet I cared for the MC and was interested in discovering the motivation and story of the characters. Again, in is not my cup of tea at all -- I watched the first episode to burn some time, fully expecting to drop it. But the show held my interest: the characters were believable and interesting enough, and the plot was intriguing. I was pleasantly surprised. Until the resolution of the alchemist ark, that is.

My be I'll try the LN instead.

and that's another anime finished, rip season lol

getting to live the same age for 7+ times sure comes with lots of benefits, including knowing different people, different skills and knowledge, and ofc, knowing what might happen if the timeline keeps moving the same way as the past ones

in this life, we got to see her using that knowledge, be it to solve problems (like how to stop the teacher and his black powder schemes, by turning his evil plan into a beautiful firework show) or how to negotiate with people by using their own teachings agains't them (the merchant is a perfect example of that)

in this last arc, we went through the negotiation between Kyle and Arnold, the only way to save Coyolles was to make a pact with the empire, which ended up happening with the help of Rishe
step by step, Rishe is paving the way to change Aarnold from a war machine into a more relaxed and benevolent ruler who won't just destroy the world for his own reasons...

lastly, we also got a marriage ring scene, and as much as Arnold made it seem like he didn't care, he sure enjoyed that "ritual" lol
tho, Rishe closing her eyes and stopping her breathing, i thought she would be the one who wanted to watch it happen, guess it was too embarrassing... and it made Arnold laugh, a rare thing indeed

i thought this was a great anime, so i'll rate it a 9, would like to watch a season 2, maybe with the couple going on a travel together and (quotting Kiana from Honkai Impact) "fight for all that is beautiful in the world"

Really great episode.Rishe managed to turn Michel's Gunpowder plot into fireworks. Also mainly due to Rishe's efforts the alliance between Galkhein and Coyolles has come to fruit.

The love between Arnold and Rishe is too heartwarming. The moment when Arnold put the ring on Rishe's hand and her blushing visage was so cute and lovely.Rishe is changing the future for better little by little. Now both of them are going for a world tour.Arnold's life has turned for the better ever since being betrothed to Rishe.I wish to see their wedding in the next season when this series gets it.

I've really enjoyed this series. This and Villainess Level 99 are the top 2 shows I looked forward to watching each episode. Having an MC like Rishe was so nice cause she's had many lives so she's really composed and knows how to handle the Prince lol.

Would love to see more of this series as it reminds me of Snow White with The Red Hair. Also just getting more villainess stuff in general is a huge win. Love the villainess genre.

Very sweet ending, I really loved it.

I wasn't expecting much from this show, since I'm not big on Villainess anime, but I was wrong. This was very good, and each episode was enjoyable.

First episode showed so much potential. It's a pity the show went this route at the end. Still okay and 7/10 from me but I am not looking forward to new season.

it has decent visuals an it has a charming protagonist but the story isnt interesting, it has a good start and an interesting premise but it starts to go downhill towards its second half

I don't get the 'Villainess' theme in this anime. Unlike other Villainess anime, she is never a vilain at first place.

I feel that some god/thing nurtured her for 6 reincarnations to make her ideal wife for Arnold.

Arnold is kind hearted and very capable but very awkward person, which maybe makes his standard high and never has interest in women.
That's why god pitied him and present him the MC lol.

Not bad actually, I'd probably handle watching a second season after a couple of months, although, I'm not too sure if they'd make enough profits for that.

A beautiful ending to a beautiful story.
