Character song singles don't sell that well unless the anime is going to sell well, generally. We already know Nijiiro Days anime sells terribly. With sadness I now predict that Sansha Sanyou will sell poorly too though we already know that from Stalker estimates. I'm sad about Soramaru's sales there. It is only a character song but unless I'm mistaken, other ex-Muse members like Nanjo have done character songs for that series and they sold pretty well. Good to see Pile's single sales are back on track after Kimi ga kureta Kiseki's disappointing sales, perhaps because Duel Masters is a kids show? |

I really thought Sonar Pocket's popularity is just on par with Fujifabric. That's why I understood the gap between Ace Attorney OP (Johnny's West) and ED (not so popular artist) and I didn't on Nijiiro Days. I already know that character songs sales also depend on the popularity of the anime. But an ending song sales just got beat by a character song sales? After thinking more about it, it could be because of the wealth of their target demographics. What do you mean by Soramaru and Stalker estimates? I'm pretty new in observing Japan CD sales. Stalker is for Bluray and DVD sales, not CDs but since anime sales and character song sales can track similarly, you can sort of use the Stalker prediction for Blurays to predict the CD sales as well, and in reverse too. When Osomatsu-san's ED sold 100K I knew the Bluray and DVD sales would but that high or higher and they were. Ending song beaten by a character song in the same series or different series. In different series it makes a lot of sense if their disc sales will be different. Even in the same series, a different seiyuu can make a big difference as some seiyuu are popular enough that even anime with poor sales doesn't mean their CDs will sell poorly. |
