| Yes, 5 episodes might be a renames version of the OVA, but I doubt that they will be a 100% carbon copy, or they might make the animations better etc, also it was announced as 13ep in Japan, with those 5 episodes being part of the TV series. So it won't hurt to increase it's episode count to 13, and leave the OVA as well as a separate entry... It's also easier to add for the users as 1 entry, than 2... And if someone already saw the OVA, can just add the TV, instead of adding the TV AND a rewatch to the OVA... |
| I agree it's easier. The official site said it's just re-edited from the OVA to fit into the TV series. In terms of animation, close to no difference. We won't know for sure until it airs next week. |

| This has brought so much confusion it's not even funny. Both old and new fans of Magi would find this tedious, having to add both entries and/or rewatch the ovas just to count having watched eps 2-6. This is just a small request, I doubt changing it to 13 eps will cause much trouble |
| I agree with everyone here. Despite already knowing why they did this, I still find it dumb. Not everyone is going to watch those OVAs or read the info saying you need to add said ovas. |

| It's pretty dumb. MAL has kept entries that have been slightly edited into TV episodes in the past. Examples I can think of are: http://myanimelist.net/anime/4886/InuYasha__Kuroi_Tessaiga and, more recently, http://myanimelist.net/anime/25801/Shouwa_Genroku_Rakugo_Shinjuu__Yotarou_Hourou-hen The lack of consistency on MAL never fails to amaze me. Sometimes they don't even try. |

| Yeah it's stupid. I understand why they did it but it's a bad reason. I mean let's say you're someone that *haven't* watched the OVAs of it: are you then going to add episode 1 of the TV-series to your list when that airs, then start adding all the OVAs 1 through 5 for episodes 2-6 and then continue adding episodes 2-8 of the TV-series entry for the actual episodes 7-13? It'd be clunky, confusing and awkward as heck. Even for people like me who have seen the OVAs it still doesn't feel beneficial at all Also as mentioned, this has happened with other series in the past and then this has not been listed like this Just change it to 13, please |

DB Moderators really need to stop being so stubborn and listen to other people's logical requests. @Tatanium As far as I'm aware, the animation quality is better and some scenes are going to be different as well. There is really no reason to keep it at 8 episodes. If that is really true, which we will see soon, then there is really no reason not to change it... |
