| I think this episode was more like an introduction. I also think that we will see more and new characters on the next episode -- just like Baccano!!. It will not only be one person they will lay focus on. Instead it will be a group important persons... I think. Overall I really loved this episode. There are many few animes that can really do such a great first episode. I hope this anime hold it's quality. Nice work they've done here. And why did the actually kidnap the girl? She had a scar on her neck or something. Is she kind of releted to the headless man? |

| I think that this anime will be one of the best and probably the best one from this season.It has everything-good choice of music,great art,interesting characters,a little mystery here and there.I think that if the anime studio plays their cards well it can even be better than Baccano.I have the same feeling coming from it,but it's slow-paced and that way the story feels really deep.The dialogues are really well thought and I hope that the anime won't go downhill like one of the most promising animes in 2009. |

| lol @ trolls passing judgment on a series from one episode (One that doesn't suck at that). This one looks extremely promising, great character design and love the animation style. Lots of interesting characters to memorize @_@ Decent soundtrack too. |

Indeed, a lot of characters are being introduced and I'm glad this gets 24 episodes (for now) and I hope they'll be even better, not that this one was bad or something. Not too mention the male cast is awesome. Miyano Mamoru fits for Masaomi. |

| O_O What did I just watch? I came in on a whim since the name sparked my interest. But DAAAAAMN I got much more than I could have imagined. I haven't gotten around to seeing Baccano so I can't compare but I have to say like many others I love the cast we were introduced to so early. Headless biker is kickass and those shadow effects the fat guy was seeing were a nice touch. OP rocked I love the BGM's so far. ED is a bit meh to me but it's not bad. Definitely one of the best shows this seasons. Hope it keeps up and gets even better as it goes on |

| If its even half as good as Baccano! this is going to be freakin awesome. Im probably going to wait until all episodes have aired until I watch the rest though. |

| Ok, so that was an interesting episode! I can't wait for the next one :D The OP and ED were really good too. It looks like this is going to be a great series. I also realized that Durarara!! really similar to Baccano! in terms of music (the fight scenes have a lot of jazz music playing the background), the OP (characters introduced in the op), and the large number of characters. Edit: Oh yeah, I'm also 87% sure the Black Motorcyclist is a girl. |

| For start it looks interesting,sounds like we will see some deeper story.Thats good,nice anime after ecchi without much story from this season (not like i dont like them,but its always nice to have 1-2 series with good story).Also big plus for me is awesome animation there. |

| Murrr.. for some reason my downloaded episode from GG subs keeps freezing and stuff. Just this particular one. Anyone else having this problem? XD I see they're going to re-encode and make slight changes to it, but I wonder if that's b/c of what I experienced when trying to play it. -shrugs- So far I listened to the OP song..I love it. And I wish that MAL wouldn't let you write a review for an anime unless you've seen all the episodes. There's a review posted for this anime already. XD I dun think first impressions should be in the review section..most ppl seem to vote "not helpful" for those kind of "reviews" anyway. Oh well.. |

| I'm not a great fan of Baccano! but I must say that using the same concept in Ikebukuro with a true main character (maybe the biggest mistake of said title), a logical red string for the scenario and only one timeline feels much more right and much clearer for the spectators. This first episode was a very good introduction even if I had my doubts in the beginning and all the characters seem to coexist well in this urban fantasy world. Animation and music formed quite the great mix too. Durarara! is indeed worth watching, and is even better than Baccano! for the moment I think. |

| That was nice introduction and good start to the first episode and it is better than Dance in the Vampire Bund. I personally liked the whole internet chat piece, which was interesting way to explain about the legend of Ikeburo. |

| Aw this was awesome! Can't wait to see how it plays out. Also, I'm sure people aren't fanboy'ing it already seeing how that's almost impossible with one episode out. This anime applies (imo) to all niches of watchers and if you didn't like it it's just because you didn't like it. |
