Remember people, if you see a meteorite coming towards your town or one is forecast to come your way don't approach it, even if it's a small one, it can very well kill you and destroy everything around it. Stay put if it's small and you're far away from it's trajectory or run out of it's trajectory. You can wait until police, reporters or scientists arrive if you want to see the remains of it if possible.

Please do not tell me there have been people who have actually tried to approach it...

People are curious and will stay near the blast range or go towards it to film the meteorite impact.

ah yes, I have seen videos of people trying to attempt this.
It's quite sad, I wish they knew better.

Meteorites travel at least as fast as the fastest bullets (~1000 m/s) on impact. If you can see them, that's because they are far from you, so they are headed somewhere far from you. And this would be the first human confirmed to have been killed by a meteorite. It's an improbable event, although it's highly probable this would happen at some point so I wouldn't be surprised.

He's lucky. Painless once in a lifetime moment. It's so rare. Bet he'll have his name in Guiness and World History.

He'll have maybe a movie too. Like "Struck by a Shooting Star" or 'Star Struck".

According to NASA, whatever it was that killed the man was probably not a meteorite.
