| Its a fun anime. But as for characters, I only like Rin and Gou. I was not a fan of any of the other characters. |

| Average story with effeminate characters. I don't care about seeing "hot guys", but they were so effeminate and their voices were so weird that I felt a little disturbed. Even Junjou Romantica's characters are manlier and more real than Free's characters. |

| I freaking loved it. Straight guy who likes seeing muscular shirtless dudes because man, I want to look that good. It was gorgeously animated and really fun, I love team dynamics and sports. I didn't like some of the forced drama but thankfully that wasn't the core of the series and the story. I love the four main guys, Rin bugs me (though he thankfully has a nice finish to his arc in the finale and is a great character in the sequel, Eternal Summer). I don't get the "gay" comments. There is literally one single scene that could be construed as "gay" and even then it's an almost mouth-to-mouth for the sake of resuscitating someone which is not sexual at all. But then you have a ton of anime fans who see guys have even moderately close friendships and think they have to totally have the hots for each other, which is absurd. It's a funny and entertaining show and also rather inspirational if you're into sports or if you're a guy who wants to work out and be stronger and better looking, it's a great watch. |
| It's ok because it's a bit too gay unfortunately. That one girly boy in particular annoys me no end, no man acts like a cutesy schoolgirl. I was hoping it'd focus more of the swimming sport than it did. |
