Mmmm... what can I write about me?... Let's give it a shot...
Besides the basic info on the Details section above, I'm a Information Systems Engineer student who enjoys anime, studying japanese, listening to brit-pop and punk music, watching Hollywood movies, playing and watching soccer (or football, whatever you want to call it), playing 2-D video games (3-D games make me dizzy), reading geeky websites... and that's just about it I think...
The little story in how I got into anime:
The first anime series I ever watched is probably UFO Robo Grendizer back when I was 4-5 years old... Then the first time I realized "hey, these are japanese cartoons" was with Dragon Ball Z when I was like 14-15 years old... But what really made me think "this anime thing is great" was Neon Genesis Evangelion, anime I watched when I was 16... After that I always lurked anime forums to download anime dubbed in my first language (latin american spanish), and all of the sudden I started noticing that many users in those forums had avatars with characters that used a bandana in their heads... That's how I learnt about fansubs and started watching Naruto... When I finished Naruto I went for others well known animes such as Bleach, FMA, School Rumble, and after that I started to watch pretty everything much I came across...
Oh, and just in case someone is wondering about my scores... The scores I gave to anime are purely based on ENJOYMENT. When I watch an anime, a movie or any fictional story in any format, I'm looking to be entertained. I don't analyze what I watch, I don't care if the animation was great or bad, if the sound was fitting or not, if I liked the direction or stuff like that. If an anime (or movie) entertains me I'd surely give it a high score.

you're probably right, "normal" people would think that way
but i personally don't see anything wrong with it
i like watching anime very much and i'd also like to spend much more time than i already do on it
besides "normal" people also have "hobbies" on which they spend much time on (and if they don't have hobbies it's sad ...but that's another story)
AND it's up to oneself what to do with your time, and "having a life" and being "socially acceptable" is certainly a matter of ones point of view
