| Due to the lack of characterization I dont really feal any emotional attachment to this series, can't say it's the worst feeling though. Enjoying most of the mindless action atm. |

| I'm really feeling the mood of this series. The music definitely makes it. But seeing Lindow take the dumbass FNG under his wing makes me tolerate his retardedness. I wonder if Lindow was the one that fought without a God Arc or if it was Eric. The only thing that really bothered me about this episode was the fact they only sent 4 jets to protect Alissa the NEWTYPE. If NEWTYPE's are that important then they should've sent a whole squadron of fighter escorts. And if they're that helpless maybe two or three. Assuming though they don't have the resources to protect her with that much, then it would've been standard courtesy for the Far East Asian Branch to send escort to begin with, not wait until after 3 of 3 fighters were all torn apart and the transport craft was being beaten before sending out a rescue. I have a feeling though Alissa's gonna handle it just fine. But still. If NewType's are that valuable then act like it yo. xD |

| Gotta say, this show kind of sucks so far, and shounen shit like this usually doesn't have to try hard to keep me mindlessly entertained. The art sucks. Period. "Hold on there a minute. They're adapting the art faithfully from the game". So fucking what? That doesn't necessarily make it a good thing. The character designs in the game had little to no movement outside of combat, IIRC, so they were allowed to have all of that crazy shading. It just looks stupid when it's actually animated. A character is moving around and swinging a sword an none of the shadows on his body move at all? Its basically no different from a VN that gets adapted. Most of those images are basically stills...which is why the art and animation are tweaked a bit to make it look normal in an anime. Grisaia kept the art to a close resemblance to the VN, but didn't copy the art 100% because it would've looked super wonky. MC is also fucking pathetic as hell. For all the shit talking he does, he's borderline more useless than Osamu from World Trigger, which is saying something. That line in the prison cell "oh I cant wait around for god any more. I stopped believing in prayers"...when the fuck was that even a thing? When did he ever claim to believe in god or pray? That was so chuuni it hurt. Everybody praises ufotable for their animation, but even that seems lacking in this show. Fate had all those super impressive ass fight scenes, but in here we have a few spurts of gunfire, and a sword slash or two. The characters barely move. On a plus side, the OST is fucking awesome. I really really hope ufotable gets their shit together for this show, seeing as how it had so much promise. It's only 2 episodes in, so there's a lot of time for redemption, but as it stands now, this is basically the Gunslinger Stratos of the season. |

| MAL sure is an interesting place. There were only 2 episodes and people are already moaning about story and character development. TWO F*CKING EPISODES. Did you all bitched about every other anime that you've watched in the same manner that you do in GE threads? Because this 'hate' can be applied to almost every series. Eric's death was stupid, no one cared about him and it was useless. Yet when Marco and some other random people died in Attack on Titan it was claimed to be Game of Thrones of anime. Did really no one thought that Eric's death wasn't supposed to be important in the sense that it was Eric who died rather than showing how people are outnumbered and every death of a God Eater is a huge loss? Giving a score to something that just already started is another weird thing to do. People are really impatient when it comes to watching something that they aren't familiar with because they have to wait for story to develop and they don't know what to expect. |

| The soundtracks are amazing, this episode really got me into it more. There was a little bit more action in this episode then there was last episode which is good :D Can't wait till the next episode comes out it's gonna be amazing ^_^ Hopefully more action and the OST's! |

| The artwork is great though, I really like it. Very detailed for anime, very good and interesting use of shadows, gives a greater tone to things, a deeper look to the overall picture. Just look at the hair, the way hair is drawn here and on any other generic anime. As for the anime, it's OK so far, but i have a feeling its going to evolve for the better |

| I don't get the complains about the MC... when they are flawed it's bad because "lol, generic"? When they are perfect it's bad because "lol, Gary Stu"? Seems the only generally liked MCs recently are the apathetic, indifferent ones like Saitama from OPM. If they wear a dark coat, smoke and are over 30 years old for some reason they are "forgiven" as well, even though they are manchildren who complain just as much as the so-called "whiny" teenager characters. I don't get it. |

Not that i didn't find this series silly and ridiculous to begin with, but the very idea of people go aerial fighting with flying monsters on nothing but plane and copter to step on, where if things go wrong even if just a little would hand them instant death is just... duh. Unless of course if they're bigass weapons could somehow grant them ability to fly, but that would take the ridiculousness to another level. |
| They kept Eric's death the same... eaten by a bloody Ogretail, the slimes of God Eater. Well, at least he died better here. I remembered the fool got killed within a minute of meeting the guy in the game. For those familiar with the game, its clear that ufotable is heavily editing scenes and adding new scenes. Doesn't affect the story much though. I have no idea how an aerial battle is gonna work though... we don't have that in the game. |

| I kinda like the MC. He wants so badly to be useful. He even has a super overpowered weapon. But he has no experience. He has no idea how to really fight. So he ends up getting in the way. He has potential, but can't access it yet. Personality wise though... hes a little flat. |

No matter the logic you use to defend the decision this seems like a complete mismatch. |

This has none of his strength so he can't "get into it" which results in artificial TRIES(just like how UBW was completely hollow emotionally because Miura was more interested in upskirt shots) Its quite clear that Hirao does not care too much about this but still tries to make it look good. Cue both going "Uhhh, why am I doing this again?" Takayuki Hirao is as out of tune with "gotta take down huge monsters omg omg let's fight" Gods Eater as Takahiro Miura is out of tune with "let's delve into what these characters think about and how they see the situation and why" kind of thing. Saying all of this I still want him to do Heavens Feel. Meh I don't. I hope HF crashes and burns. Its impossible to do in one movie anyway and it is impossible to get it right without at least getting Shirou's characterization in UBW right. AT BEST people will perceive it as "tr00 mature sequel" throwing derogatory remarks to the other to routes even more and missing the point about what the hell is going on. The faster people forget about ufo's FSN adaptations the better it is for the franchise. |
