| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Good introductory episode Yuu and the general background especially in regards with his relationship with the others. I think his chemistry with Mikaela is especially noticeable. Of course, we also get Ferid's introduction which gives off a dangerous vibe. Soundtrack (OST) is great so far along with the voice acting with good production. Anyways, good start so far. And of course tragedy strikes...D: |

| Nice visuals,ost is good aswell,though I don't like the character design yet(but it's a timeskip anyway so it'll change I guess) Not sure where this will go but this was an okay/meh-ish start.Felt a bit weird as an introduction episode,maybe a bit exposition isn't that bad for a first episode? ;) It wasn't confusing though,just stuff after stuff happening.Didn't feel anything for the characters,but maybe they were just there for shock factor to begin with...and ofc to give the mc a reason for "muh revenge I'll kill all vampires".And why do they use the prophecy gimmick?It really makes itself more generic than it needs to be. I won't say what show this reminds me of,I bet it'll be stated many times here regardless :) 2/5 |

| Pretty good start so far VIsuals and music were pretty good as expected....As I thought, this episode covered chapter 1 in its entirety and they adapted it very well, loved the VA as well >inb4 generic shounen AoT ripoff |

| Vampire dominating the humans to die except kids under 13, so they hold them captive. Both main guys live differently for survival. Despite thinking differently, the support each other for they have the same goal. But fell in trap and others got sacrificed. He immediately agreed to Nakamura-san's "request" to join the team to hunt down vampire. No OP & ED? Preview seems like they are in the school life next ep. |

| Fantastic first episode. I thought they voices did sound a bit too old for them during the time in captivity but would be perfect if they used those voices during the main part of the series. In any case, loved how it was handled and all the family and hugs, yu x mika otp. |

| An interesting start here. It will be good to see where this goes. Hopefully it can pull away from the AoT similarities that this has at some point. Disappointed about the lack of OP or ED this ep, I was hyped to hear them. Guess I'll just have to wait a week then. |

| I'm not hooked on this, yet. First half was a complete bore and the second half was good (felt bad for the kids, not for the cringy blonde kid though). Just didn't click, i hope, it gets better than that. |
| Damnit. I had a feeling all of them would be slaughtered by the end of the episode, but to see that actually happen was still kinda upsetting. I was starting to like Mika and Akane too.. Well, that Vampire SOAB got served so it was a bit satisfying. That gunshot was pretty badass! Way to go! Yuu now joined the Imperial Army. (That was kinda fast tbh). Though, it'll be exciting to see his future encounters with the Vampires. Overall, pretty good introductory episode. Hopefully, Wit will continue to handle to series well. I have high expectation for this. |

| As expected, they're adding some anime-original bits here and there to make it flow better although there's also some altered scenes about the vampires trait and stuff but nothing too important. Maybe they're just changing the order around with the author supervising this. Great art and fluid animation, not to mention the nice OSTs so far, it lives up to my expectation. ^^ A bit bumped there's no OP or ED since I've been looking forward to it. Oh well, the weekly wait begins. | I've been waiting awhile for this and finally it's here. That was amazing. I see this anime becoming quite big within the coming weeks. Very welled animated I must say and the ost is sublime. The characters development are quite fast. I like what I saw definitely keeping this on my list even though I read the manga xD |

The anime will go further than the current chapters but no need to worry since the author is working with the studio and supervising this anime just like they did SnK. |

Personally I like this series a lot but in the beginning it is pretty generic at times, but it's handled well in my honest opinion There are some similarities to AoT but that's not a problem.....However because of this, I expect the haters to fault this episode for these reasons After watching it subbed I realized that they skipped the part where Mika and the other kids also mentioned they also had a traumatizing past, such as Mika being abused by his parents |
| Well that was very cliche. Didn't help that the dialogue was so bad I thought it resembled vampire fanfiction at time. And seeing as how we'll be attending high school next week (of course), I'm expecting this show to go south very fast. |

| A rather weak start for me. The story sounds ridiculous and the characters are kinda uninteresting. But it's still only the 1st episode. Besides that the art was great, music too. The backgrounds are weird, though. |

| That was a pretty strong first ep. Not bad at all :O The art is really good and the animation was quite amazing. The girls in this series are cute :3 Esp Akane <3 Love her design...Honestly didn't expect her to die right away DAMN ;_;...and all the lolis too D: What a merciless bastard that bishi vampire was. I wonder if he's really dead? So Vampire can die if they're shot in the head in this series? I wouldn't be surprised if Mika is still alive either. Pretty interesting setting so far. The emotions during the massacre scene were quite feelzy. I felt they were depicted really well and the facial expression were nicely drawn esp for Mika and Yu. The OST during the "escape" was really good too. Good start overall ^^ |

| As a manga reader I'm really enjoying this series & the first episoe was great imo. I think WIT will do a good job on it... Shame no one seems to give a rat's ass about it though. I have a feeling Seraph's discussion threads are going to be very dry this season. |

| Well let's see... First off, the art. Yes, okay, it's relatively fluid but the designs themselves are so bad. The characters all look so lifeless and forgettable. Cinematography was very basic and it had next to no weight to anything that happened at all. I thought it looked very average overall. Starts off by killing all adults in the first 30 seconds of the episode. Vampires then took over in the next minute. Then it skips 4 years. Lmao We follow a bunch of kids as they have their blood taken and they are in a society where THE EVIL HORRIBLE VAMPIRES HAVE ENSLAVED THE KIDS AND FEEL ABSOLUTELY NO EMPATHY FOR THEM AT ALL! MWAHAHAHAHA! Lmao MC is Eren from AoT. That is all. The kids are all perfect, adorable and wonderful because they are going to die later to shock the viewer. Seriously, how predictable can you get? I predicted all the kids and the blonde kid were going to die at the end of the episode about 3 minutes in. Shocker, the Vampire guy tricked the blonde kid. Yeah, totally didn't see that one coming. *Rolls eyes* Then all the kids die before I even got a chance to really get to know them so I was just laughing at the brutality of the situation. Lmao Finally a group of uniformed people approach the MC, mentioning a prophecy that he will fight the vampires. The MC decides to join immediately. Kay. That came out of no where. Then it flashes forward ANOTHER 4 years. Lmao It isn't as much like AoT as I thought, other than the whole, people being killed by an unstoppable force thing and the MC having the exact same personality as Eren. That and the fact that the ending of the first episode was very similar to AoT's where it ends with the MC experiencing something traumatic happening to his family. This was such a cliche, campy and predictable first episode that relied entirely on shock factor to keep it "interesting". The characters are all lifeless, bland and forgettable. The visuals are average other than the backgrounds. The sound is very average. Horrible... Actually, it was laughably bad. I am going to keep watching just for that. |
