This was almost everything I had hoped for, with the only downer IMO being that the conversation between Araragi and Tadatsuru ended too soon and abruptly. But aside from that, loved every bit of Tsuki.

Nice little reference to Lupin III towards the end when Araragi entered his sisters' room.

And now that this part has been animated, maybe now it will be followed up by Kizu-...

nah, as if that'll ever happen.

Pretty important arc to the overall story. Araragi can no longer use vampire powers? Wonder how things will happen from now on. I think this episode foreshadows that there will be a situation where he'll use his powers in order to save Senjougahara or Hanekawa.

Fanservice was great like always. Shinobu was full of cuteness.

We actually got to see Senjougahara in the last few minutes. She barely gets any screentime in the series, so it was nice to see her.

in the actual source material, Lupin III references were pretty damn obvious since they were literally stated by Araragi and Ononoki.

Again and again I'm reminded why I love this series so much ^^

I just realized that Ougi's voice is the same as Michiru's (Grisaia) :O I like her even more now :3 She really is the final boss isn't she XD

Dat "WOW" when Araragi flipped Yotsugi's skirt was lol XD

"I have my secret technique the Dogeza" XD

I didn't expect Kagenui to have never walked on the ground because she can't :O A curse?

Yotsugi really just killed him like that O_o. I want to see Oshino >.<

Hitagi was so kawaii when she fed Koyomi the chocolate and said "Yay" when he liked it <3
And did they do it? :3

So I'm guessing Koyomi's hair was long in Hanamonogatari because he can't be seen by a mirror anymore? So he'll never cut his hair again XD

+1 Youjo getto :3

the fanservice was damn irritating and far too lengthy...that was like a 20 minute borderline incest bathscene. The actual story was kinda 'eh'. nothing of importance to be found here. Monogatari would've been well off without hanamonogatari or tsukimonogatari. the only worthwhile information in this whole thing was that araragi shouldn't rely on dracula power too much. wow.

The monogatari franchise is trying too hard and I'm tired of it all. 6.5/10...

As always best girl gets very little time on screen ;___;

Wasn't fond of the first episode and some of the second but the final two were great :3 The bgm towards the end of episode 3(?) was fantastic.

The sister part - another pile of crap and unnecessary again.

Better - the specialist crowd (Kagenui, Gaen, Teori).

Best - Senjougahara in pumpkin shorts; Ononoki; hints to Ougi and Meme and balancing the power over the city - Araragi should give up on the mystic chuunibyo, before it either eats him, kills him, or makes him lose everything he gained (if a monster can kill a human, not only Araragi is in danger, he could become dangerous to his friends as well if he turns into an apparition).

5/10 here, :0

you need to bear 80 pages of it if you read the book.
animu was nothing.

Tadatsuru holds an important role later on. People that cannot bear foreshadowy plot should just stay way from Nisio's stuff.

Sorry, I'm not too good with comprehending things, who and why did they want to create a fissure between Araragi and Ononoki?

edit: oh, can someone explain why ougi was there too? and why ononoki said she was "(probably) the mastermind and final boss troubling you (Araragi) and requested Tadatsuru to exterminate apparitions"

Great way to kick off the year. Another excellent arc to add to the already amazing series. I never really thought much about Ononoki but I think she's become my new favorite, Hayami Saori's voice really compliments her strange character.

8/10, May bump to a 9 since I liked it a lot.

Probably one of the weaker arcs in the series. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it felt more like a story to set up other stories as opposed to its own story.

But I liked the fact that it started showing another division with someone Araragi considers a friend. First Hachikuji, then Nadeko, and now Yotsugi. He's being separated from everyone he cares about. That just leaves Kanbaru (who doesn't seem to have a major role to play in the future since Hana comes last) Hanekawa, Senjougahara, and his sisters. I liked the fact that they referenced Tsukihi Phoenix more, that story didn't add as much to the series, so I like the fact that it was referenced.

Tsukihi looks really nice with long hair. This is probably my favorite hair style for her!

Since I was rather sleepy while watching this episode, I'll probably rewatch the last bit from his meeting with Ougi on, just so I can make sure I properly understood everything. I wish they would have done more with the character introduced in this episode. But he served his role after all...

I felt that this arc lacked an emotional impact, and the conversation with Ononoki and Yozuru lasted for too long, just like Rouka's monologue in Hana.
I liked the bath scene even though I usually detest most of Monogatari's fanservice.
Also, did I spot some Fate/ references? Like the moon-grail?
Of course, best girl shows once again why she's best girl.
Overall, 7/10

great show...

i want moar

EDIT:
though i didnt was sure about the whole theme of this series... untill i stumbled upon a comment in reddit.
/copypasted over:

Basic synopsis of what happened:

We already know that apparitions/oddities are created by, and live off of, perceptions. Multiple characters have said that, and Hachikuji's death is evidence (putting aside Ougi's dialogue in MG:SS). The fact that Koyokoyo is becoming a vampire again makes total sense in that regard, especially after fighting Nadeko's god form almost every day. His perception of himself is that he has (limited) powers borrowed from Acerola Orion Heart-Under-Blade.

He's lived that way for so long because he now has the power to deal with people's problems, and he can't resist helping them. This is the main point of this arc... even when his task is saving his family and one of his friends, he refuses the easiest plan, because he doesn't want to make Ononogi into a murderer.

If they had gone with his original plan, he would definitely have had to use his vampire powers, and lost his humanity even more. That's basically what he has been doing all along, and he even says himself that he would probably do it again if Senjougahara or Hanekawa were in danger.

That's why, for me, the best line in the show was (paraphrasing), "Yeah, I killed him. I'm a monster. Don't turn into a monster."

His determination to help people, no matter what, is what defines Araragi "Koyokoyo" Koyomi. He was prepared to do anything to help as many people as he could, but for once, he had to accept his human capabilities and he wasn't willing to do it.

That's where Ononogi saves the day. Tsukimonogatari started with a conversation about whether Ononogi is human. It ended with the answer, from her own mouth: "I'm a monster. You can still be human, if even just a little bit."

now... i gotta say, i love this even more *_*

Visual and animation were glorious as usual but I noticed the art was a bit off here and there. Unlike Hana that lacks a sense of danger, Tsuki was pretty intense, it had me on the edge of my seat in the last 15 minutes. I must say it's much more entertaining than Hana.

Lol. I thought at this point there would be no one complaining the fanservice. I'm baffled.

I don't understand Teori's actions. He felt he was being manipulated, "cast" into his role, yet he still went along with it and got himself killed. Why? Wouldn't you normally try to find the mastermind behind it all, and resist the manipulations? It was basically suicide on his part.

right? I'm not even close to finishing up the third season novels, but I remember that foreshadowing in the second season. Something about Ougi setting up Sengoku as the god in that town while Gaen wanted Shinobu? If so I'm really getting hyped about the third season and everything getting setup in that town.

Other than that I really liked how they decided to upgrade their in-between texts with ripped pieces of paper and what not. Not too into the OST but it was fine. Looked beautiful as usual though.

How? It had the strongest internal conflict in the franchise. Hanekawa having to confront and accept the negative aspects in her to make her feeling genuine. The analysis Senjougahara made was one of the smartest moments in the franchise and the breakdown by the ending had the strongest emotional. Especially if you've read Kizumonogatari already. Also, arcs which aren't narrated by Araragi don't have constant perverse moments in them and thus rarely break out of tone. This applies to Koimono and to an extent Otorimono as well.

Strongest internal conflict, yes. But Neko Shiro isnt the best arc so far. Kabuki would churned out to be the best internal conflict of Shinobu accepting herself if Shaft didnt fucked up the pacing in the first place. Sodachi's arcs were great too in term of Araragi's self-reflecting, but that will be dealt later episodes. Here I'm just hoping that Shaft wouldn't fucked much with Owarimonogatari 1 contents because that book has the greatest Araragi moments so far, after Kizu.

The best part about this is when it's all over. I get to watch it all from start to finish.

No complaints. I am so interested to see more of Ononoki. Her character, origin, methodology is so entrancing for some reason. I love it.

Actually one of my favorite arcs after the original Bake. As others have said, the still frames upgraded to pieces of torn paper was incredibly refreshing and better. With it being Winter, they could "play" a lot more with the backgrounds and they accomplished that thoroughly.

One of my favorite parts was when Shinobo straight up said I cherish you more than anyone and will further chip away your humanity to protect you (me). There were a lot of good lines in the arc. Just really good and set a pretty big stage for the dialogues to come.

Did Ononogi just spoil the show?
(Note below is just my observations from the episode and I don't think it counts as a spoiler, but to be safe I'll put it in spoiler tags anyway)

I mean seriously what kinda show does that? IT JUST SPOILED IT'S OWN PLOT!

Who knows, maybe I'm crazy, or maybe they're just playing with our expectations, however if that's not the case then I'm honestly kinda annoyed the show spoiled me...which is probably the first time I've ever felt like this towards a show(love you Monogatari).

As if it was not that clear already that Ougi is the mastermind behind this. It was you who need to pay attention more to the show, friend. Why do you think Ougi nonchalantly appeared there waiting for Koyomi?

Probably you need more clue from Nadeko Medusa arc and the ending of Shinobu Time arc. But i think information from this arc also seems enough, though.

The way the antagonist got taken out was rather underwhelming to say the least. I expected a bit more drama or tension. But Senjougahara's short appearance made up for it a bit I suppose.

This was great. As are all of the monogatari arcs.

We got an awesome and large amount of Tsukihi fanservice. Although when it comes to the sisters nothing tops the toothbrush scene, Tsukihi is my favorite of the 2 sisters so I enjoyed all of that. Plus we got some Karen too.

Also got Shinobu looking fantastic in that black/purple ball gown style dress. And her little moment when she got upset was great.

Good interactions between Ononoki and Araragi. Definitely can feel the story moving along.

Ougi is definitely a villain up to some bad shit. As if they didn't make that clear enough in Nadeko's arc, it was pretty bluntly stated this time.

Then to top it all off we get a fantastic moment with best waifu ever Senjougahara. That was some much needed screen time for best girl.

No announcements for a new season yet, but they did already make a general announcement that the rest of the series IS getting done, so we don't have to worry. Everything will get sooner or later.

Side note: soooo technically this event comes before Hana right? I don't see why they released Hana first when that took place after Araragi was already in college.
