So the girls are shooting a movie this episode? Cool. Lights, camera, and action!

The Christmas theme was quite fitting this episode though with the holiday spirits. Lol, the French language part was amusing.

At long last, they finally realized that they need to put in at least a little bit more fanservice!

This should boost the Blu-ray sales.

Another nice episode, and I'm glad that Chloe's not leaving. She's been one of the best characters in this shwo so far. Also, I'm glad that Shuri Furuya got a brief cameo in this episode, seeing as she is one of my favourite characters from the game.

Julia is also a transfer student and judging from what she said during the snow she is from Slovenia that's if my translator is correct.
It's not surprising that if there is one transfer student around that their are probably more around i just wonder how many seeing the number of blond students with blue eyes.
Then again in anime you never know.

Chloe caused a pretty big misunderstanding with her language barrier so much that even her father came to Japan.
Guess she still has some things to learn.

@Aversa: Is this the "Julia" that you have in mind?

Juria Ryuugasaki (竜ヶ崎珠里椏)
Here are several webpages with information in Japanese about her:

The last one has by far the most detailed background information. But I couldn't
spot anything about whether she was from another country or what country it
was.

@Cratex: Thank you! You are correct. That is her. She is from Russia.

These webpages have some information about her in Japanese.

Russian and Slovenian are both classified as Slavic languages. So they are in the
same language group. Therefore, it is no surprise at all that Aversa's translator
mixed the two up. Any two different Slavic languages tend to have many words
in common.

Her name is written in Japanese as: ユーリヤ・ヴャルコワ

That was funny. Chloe misunderstood the Japanese tradition that she told to her Papa so he got worried and thought they were dangerous things. x3

Yay for Chloe staying!! o/ I wonder if the film they sent to Chloe's parents was subbed in French. xP They are such good friends. ;w;

And the New Year's episode is the finale! I'm gonna miss you all... D:

During the video... ahhng it's a beautiful girls heaven.

Two words: Google translate.

Huh, for once the foreign student won't be staying? ..Nah they'll find a way in the end.

Never heard of all those foods.

THE FRENCH. THE FRENCH. IT'S KILLING ME.
THE JAPANESE. THE JAPANESE. IT'S KILLING ME.

Of course it had to be another cultural misunderstanding xD

In Polish it's also the same word, written "śnieg" and pronounced the same way it was in this episode.

It's a big relief that Chloe doesn't have to move back to France after all. This episode had me worried.

Even so, Chloe is correct to believe that eating mochi (a kind of sticky rice cake) is dangerous.
According to a 2013 article in The Guardian, "Between 2006 and 2009, 18 people died from
mochi choking in Tokyo alone, according to fire department figures." and "Japan’s food safety
commission ranked mochi among the top causes of food-related choking incidents..."

Here is the full article:
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/30/japan-new-year-mochi-death-technology

Here is a scene from the movie "Tampopo" where a man nearly chokes to death eating mochi:

I noticed that Chloé's father spoke French very, very well. Also, I guess that
his Japanese was good as well, but I can't judge with confidence. So I was
thinking that perhaps they had even hired one voice performer to record his
single line in French, and then had a Japanese-speaking voice performer do the
rest of his lines. However, in the closing credits it lists his voice performer as
Kenji Hamada (浜田賢二). In his long career, he has played many roles where
the character is from some country in Europe. So that could explain his language
talent in French. Here is his Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenji_Hamada

By the way, they listed Chloé's father's name as セルジュ‧ジャック‧ルメール, which
is "Serge Jacques Lemaire".

Cute as usual the episode.
The plot has yet to reveal other characters, who seem to never end, storytelling fun; it is hilarious Chloe-san.
Not bad designs and animations.
Beautiful soundtrack.

I dunno. This was kinda lame. I mean, whole premise was just stupid to pull any emotions in the end.

Not to mention all that "french" was something horrible, I cringed.
If anything I think it would be a lot better if she had to leave, farewell party would be real deal at least.

Those reasons or should I say misunderstandings that almost made her return to her own country were pretty stupid in the end.

And I think I don't have to repeat again but Chloe and Erena are the worst voiced characters of this show.

Chloe such a klutz. Causes this big drama all because she didn't fully comprehend the Japanese
culture.

You know, that was pretty funny. All this sad stuff was simply predicated by a silly baka gaijin misconception. It fits in so well with Chloe's character. Good on you, show, for making me laugh ONCE.
