| Well I watched it and it is approximatelly 75 minutes with the unpublished scene. Plus the DVD also states 78 minutes DVD on the registration info part This one is also 6 minutes per episode http://myanimelist.net/anime/17359/Peeping_Life:_The_Perfect_Explosion DVD And this one is also 6 minutes http://myanimelist.net/anime/22631/Peeping_Life:_Tezuka_Pro_-_Tatsunoko_Pro_Wonderland DVD |

| hentai_eucli, >http://myanimelist.net/anime/6525/Peeping_Life do you have the DVD's at hand? Or have you watched both TV and DVD releases to be able to compare the episodes? An unpublished scene? Probably the one included here. You can't simply take the total duration of the DVD on Amazon and devide it by the number of episodes, and even if the episodes on the DVD are indeed longer, they still could be a director's cut versions. That would not warrant an episode duration change. Pretty much the same goes for http://myanimelist.net/anime/17359/Peeping_Life:_The_Perfect_Explosion DVD does include in addition to the episodes three 4-minute long specials, which are live-action for the looks of it, or animated, but not yet added into database. >http://myanimelist.net/anime/22631/Peeping_Life:_Tezuka_Pro_-_Tatsunoko_Pro_Wonderland From the DVD info you linked: 【DVD本編映像 全10話】 本編:約50分 映像特典:約10分 映像特典:ユニバーサル映画 100周年キャンペーンコラボ映像 so, 10 episodes for total duration of 50 minutes + 10 minutes of bonus material already included separately on this entry. I hope that clears the slight confusion. |

This show's setting seems similar to the early 20th century but it's also taking place on a fictional world so doesn't that mean it's not historical? |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/8192/Hoshi_Shinichis_Short_Shorts_Special Shouldn't this be 6 episodes? Or 4 if you ignore live action? I'm not entirely sure how this was aired/set up. The logic behind this is weird too, no dialogue or plot doesn't count as an entry? "Fantasy" which counts as one episode in this "special" is divided into 5 "stories" on the DVD as well. http://myanimelist.net/anime/3401/Aru_Tabibito_no_Nikki_Specials/moreinfo Haven't watched either one of them so not too sure. |

Fronzel said: This show's setting seems similar to the early 20th century but it's also taking place on a fictional world so doesn't that mean it's not historical? I kinda agree with Fronzel. Historical tag is not required here. Jacquelin, > Shouldn't this be 6 episodes? Depends on how they are included/listed on the DVD or aired. Might be considered as one special yeah, nothing unusual. > The logic behind this is weird too, no dialogue or plot doesn't count as an entry? These episodes are excluded mostly because "they are slideshows of images", not because they have no dialogue or plot. I mean, if that slideshow would actually tell a story, it would be another case to consider. "Fantasy" is listed as one episode correctly. |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/23905/Gisoku_no_Moses pretty sure this is doujinshi http://myanimelist.net/anime/3743/ Add Satsujin to synonyms and 殺人 for Japanese title http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Old_Man_and_the_Sea_%281999_film%29 Is this not allowed? I assume it'd already be in the DB if it were, but as far as the guidelines go it says a joint production is fine as long as it's not just outsourced animation, and there are Japanese producer, co-producer and voice actors for the original version, it was first released in Japan, and it won the Ofuji award for Japanese animated films, so it seems like there is enough Japanese involvement in the production to me. I understand it doesn't have much Japanese influence to it though. |

It's like all those anime released with a manga volume, it's no different as it was released with a magazine instead. And Hime Gal♥Paradise for example, it's released with a magazine too. Dangerous Jiisan Ja, Inui-san!, Nijiiro☆Prism Girl are all examples of being bundled with magazines as well. Re-reading my post, its a bit confusing so I'll reword what I had wanted and hopefully that's clearer in the points I'm trying to make for database consistency. http://myanimelist.net/anime/1066 the 3rd episode ("Itadaki no Hecate-tan") here should not be accounted for in this entry. It should be added as a 4th episode in this entry: http://myanimelist.net/anime/28603 because it was released in that same "Shakugan no Shana no Subete" Dengeki Bunko DVD magazine issue. This was an oversight on my part when submitting #1066 to the database. Since "Itadaki no Hecate-tan" doesn't have the same naming scheme as the other 3 episodes in #1066, I thought it would be best to rename it Anime "Shakugan no Shana" no Subete after the magazine the quartet was released in. http://myanimelist.net/anime/3956/ the 3rd episode here should not be accounted for in this entry. It should get its own OVA entry because it was released in a Dengeki Bunko DVD magazine by itself. Just like those anime bundled with manga volumes have their own entries and Hime Gal♥Paradise. This magazine is the sequel to the one in the previous paragraph. So following the same naming scheme, I propose the new single episode OVA entry could be titled Anime "Shakugan no Shana II" no Subete as that is the title to that specific magazine that episode was released in. If that is don, now both #1066 and #3956 reflect specials from the DVD release of the main anime. While #28603 and the not-yet-made-new-entry reflect episode/s released from Dengeki Bunko DVD magazines which are classified as OVAs under the guidelines. |

Release type is what matters. What’s the point of having Database Guidelines if you choose not to follow them? What’s the point of accepting new database entries for Specials if you can toss them under old Special entries according to this logic of “more or less the same content-wise”? Like those 3 new Dr. Slump specials or the new “Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (TV): Deai no Jikan” not being with “Ansatsu Kyoushitsu”. Popularity does not matter. Nothing about that is written in the guidelines either. If the anime was so popular then why didn’t any of those thousands of people come forward with those 3 missing episodes over the 8 years they’ve existed? What is this “trouble” that you speak of? The Rurouni Kenshin Special was split from the main series and that had tens of thousands of more members at the time than these Shakugan no Shana specials do right now combined. |

The entry will be removed at some point. Thank you for reporting. Though, this is not an issue of utmost importance, so please have some patience. lanblade, Jacquelin, What’s the point of having Database Guidelines if you choose not to follow them? I appreciate it that you guys take this issue to heart. It would be a miracle if we could only have consistent and easy to follow (for novice users also) rules written for everything that ever-changing animation industry produces. Unfortunately, organizing these things is a very difficult task, requiring you sometimes to make hard choices/compromises. Even though there is still a lot to fix in the database, it's in a pretty good shape actually, but despite all the hard work it will never be complete, or error-free, some entries will never be added, despite the popularity, etc... So meanwhile we could maybe all relax and learn to appreciate, and enjoy the anime, even if it's not in the database, or is included on another entry. >despite following the guidelines to the letter. Jacquelin, I think that it's not about simply following them to the letter, it's about comprehending them as a whole. It's not enough if the anime is done in Japan, but released only for Western market. It's not enough if the creator is an independent animator, like some others already in the DB, but never won any awards listed in the guidelines, etc... I hope that the guidelines will be updated and clarified on in the future, to possibly help to comprehend them better, and for mods to stay always consistent. I also hope that you Jacquelin would not get too frustrated here, as we can get, I believe, some more of the titles you have to offer actually included in the database. :) |

| Leknaat, I think it's quite sad that you act so condescending when you've been shown multiple times that your "interpretation" (if it can even be considered one) of the DB guidelines contradicts not only the clearly written rules, but also the current state of the DB. I don't know why you are so obsessed with being right, when you have admitted your ignorance yourself already. If you had real arguments for your point of view/interpretation of the guidelines then maybe I could let it slide, but you simply answer with "no" and a "subtle" condescending comment and made-up rules. I guess it's no surprise. |

| Jacquelin, I apologize for my condescending way of replying... but, uhm, my wording aside, then it comes to approving, or denying entries you do want to be always correct on the decisions made, for the obvious reasons. It is never a matter of letting it slide. So... that should explain my obsession. The fact that not everything you've submitted can be added into database is not because of my ignorance, or because I am making my own rules here. As I've mentioned in one of my previous posts, the only contradiction may come from the poorer state of the independent/doujin animation section of the DB, which may contain some of the creators/titles that were approved by mistake. I am not the best with words, so I don't know how else I can explain the reasons to you. Umm... I can edit this post later with a detailed explanation (going by the points in the guidelines) for why for example the Beluga entry was denied. If you want to listen, of course. |

| I am posting this in both the anime and manga sections, since it applies across the board. http://myanimelist.net/anime/26441/Junketsu_no_Maria It would be more accurate to remove the "Ecchi" tag from Genre. The outfits look skimpy, but after reading the 12 translated chapters of the original manga and browsing through the untranslated volume and a half remaining as well as part of Exhibition, I was surprised to notice that the main content of the story wasn't focused on sexual titillation at all. There is a degree of fanservice, low to moderate, but the way it's portrayed makes that far less prominent than it sounds on paper. Whole chapters pass where there can be spoken jokes about sex or virginity without much of a visual reference, which puts the emphasis on comedy rather than sex appeal. Even the first official PV for the anime has only like 2 seconds of relatively tame nudity in a completely non-sexual context (character taking a bath or waking up). | http://myanimelist.net/anime/10028/Magic_Knight_Rayearth_Omake Should be removed. These under-one-minute pieces of animation are at the end of every episode of the TV series; they are as much a part of the episode as the next-episode preview. There are only four of them and they are repeated randomly at the ends of most of the 20 episodes of the series, so they even lack uniqueness. Note the airing date listed is the same as the TV series. A hasty internet search lead me to no other mention of "Magic Knight Rayearth Omake" anywhere. |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/3136/Ochamegami_Monogatari:_Korokoro_Poron the Parody genre seems to be added twice in the Information section. It also show ups as a result when one searches both Parody and Hentai genres with Advanced Search. |

Fronzel said: This show's setting seems similar to the early 20th century but it's also taking place on a fictional world so doesn't that mean it's not historical? There are plenty of shows set in fictional worlds that do have the genre tag though. Like Gosick in a fictional Europe. Or maybe you mean that Alison to Lillia is set in a completely different world, not just modified, and that's why it doesn't require the genre? That would be Romeo x Juliet's case. |

Miked said: #7035 (part of it) Everything is now done except adding harem to here: http://myanimelist.net/anime/6166/Asobi_ni_Iku_yo! which is a bit odd as harem was added to the side-story entry. http://myanimelist.net/anime/619/ is based on a video game of the same name that was released in English (the game, not the anime). It was titled Ninja Gaiden. Is that not good enough to warrant "Ninja Gaiden" being listed as the English title for the anime? Wasn't sure if it was the case or if it was a clerical error during the update. |

| abystoma2, It's a strictly Yuri series. Hentai genre is not added in these cases. Instead, explicit content is already marked with an "Rx - Hentai" rating on the entry. Which should be enough to inform/warn the users who might be interested in watching it. |

| I'm watching Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are Least Alone., at the moment and have noticed, there are 2 min Specials at the end of each episode, yet it can't be listed in MAL or graded for that matter, as all others Specials have been from other series. It's not that important, but still, it's nice when possible to list everything you've watched...:) Thanks |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/28775/White_Fantasy Type should be ONA as it's an online commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWU9ak83IqU Rather than a television commercial. jakov said: I'm watching Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are Least Alone., at the moment and have noticed, there are 2 min Specials at the end of each episode, yet it can't be listed in MAL or graded for that matter, as all others Specials have been from other series. Things that are a part of the normal anime episode when it was airing on TV is just that: a part of the normal anime episode. If you watched the anime then you saw those ones at the end. Unlike other anime series where the specials are can only be seen months after the anime airs on TV. |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=28641 Why would you change the title? I included the Japanese title in Katakana, as per your guidelines this is what should be used, not the localized English title... this is the second time it happens, I don't get it. Also, I would like to know when and how you will revise guidelines, and/or whether any discussion is going on now, because I still have no response from the DB mod you referred me to. |

lanblade said: I haven't watched it so I'd not know but it could still be a special, like how Ars Nova got an entry for a series of specials that aired with the episode when it was re-airing, while it's probably not the case here it's something you should keep in mind.http://myanimelist.net/anime/28775/White_Fantasy Type should be ONA as it's an online commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWU9ak83IqU Rather than a television commercial. jakov said: I'm watching Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are Least Alone., at the moment and have noticed, there are 2 min Specials at the end of each episode, yet it can't be listed in MAL or graded for that matter, as all others Specials have been from other series.
