I need to clarify something about this rule: The anime you choose to use for the challenge must be watched during the challenge period. I initially thought that this meant that anything I started before the challenge period (which I assume would be the day I started the challenge to the end) would not be allowed for the challenge. Now that I've re-read it, I'm thinking that I'm allowed to use anime I started before but hadn't yet completed by the start of the challenge. Which assumption is the correct assumption? |

As long as you started watching it since January 1st 2016 you can use it. What if I started it before the year began, but skimmed through the episodes I'd watched after the year begins and then finish it off normally? P.S. the fuck is going on with the quotes? |

And yeah I know, there's something going with the quotes right now, and I had to carefully edit my post this time. |

@yhunata It's best that you just use other anime for those. If you can find anywhere that any of the shorter content from those franchises can fit you can treat it like the series is going there as well just to make yourself feel better. I watched the first 15 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist in 2015 so I couldn't use it for the challenge, but I was already planning on using it for "an anime that won an award" which the movie also fits. I have an average time restriction of at least 4.8 hours per main challenge so the 36 episodes I watched of the series in 2016 is counting towards that. |

And addressing HxH specifically. Even if you could use just finish up the last 20 episodes, There are things that fit the staff favorite category that are much much much shorter than that. So you still wouldn't be getting ahead other than the faux-prestige of saying you watched a 150 episode series for the challenge. Examples: Wolf Children, Summer Wars, Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru 1985 movie, ping pong, war in pocket, eve no jikan |

You said that it counts as long as I'm caught up with the "aired/subbed" episodes. I would guess this assuming the subs aren't that far behind the aired episodes considering the fact that you grouped them together. I'm fairly certain it will finish airing this year. If it still counts as two cour due to it only taking that long to air then I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway.zombie_pegasus said: Are there any rules around really slow subs or partially subbed yet complete anime? Hello everyone, I've got a question that was possible answered before. I couldn't find it in the FAQ so im posting this despite of checking all the pages. I was wondering if I can use an currently airing anime fot the category "watch an anime with less than x completed members"? If the show is still airing, no one has completed it yet. But it seems kind of out cheaty and not covered by the rules. |

@Zombie_pegasus, right. I don't remember anime I put on hold/dropped pre-2016, I've used MAL to list them so I won't forget them again. So are you suggesting I should wait some months before finishing that challenge? I'm pretty close to finishing the challenge though. |

@Misaka In the form it does say to use anime you started and stopped watching before 2016. If you have none then use one that you dropped/put on hold close to the beginning of the year (before you started the challenge for obvious reason). |
