Shinomiya-senpai -shishou naming the plate like that - "Cheeky youngster style" Lol! Glad to see he is not a douchebag...

Soma-kun seems like a BAMF accepting challenges from left to right...

Love this anime for real. Great food, great sense of humor, great story, great battles, great characters my only complaint is the lack of school/classroom (theory) moments & Erina moments (character development) interactions with fellow classmates nonetheless this was a wonderfully addicting anime.

If the anime gods grant me season 3 I will be happy...

Great way to end the second season. So in this episode we could see how much Souma learned and evolved, making his own original dish for the first time. Combinding so much different ingredients and making something completely new out of it is was I absolutely love about Souma. His evolving scene was so epic and now he understood more about his dad and where all the techniques came from.

Shinomiya really changed. Sure he's very strict but what could be better as someone like him trying your dish and giving you tips to improve it afterwards? Soumas dish even made it on Shinomiyas menu, what a name xD
His last words to Souma to become the No. 1 of the elites were great.

I had to laugh when Souma called Shinomiya "Master" :D
I'm glad Souma succeeded the stagiaire test. Seemed like Erina, Megumi, the Aldini brothers, Ryou, Akira and all the others also succeded.

I'm sad that it's already over. I had so much fun watching this second season. It's true sometimes it felt a bit rushed but I really enjoyed it. I have always a smile on my face when I watch Shokugeki no Souma :)

I really hope there will be a third season. I don't read the manga but pls let there be enough material to make it happen.

Overall for me personally 10/10 :)

Yoo that was so friggin hype! I really hope there's a 3rd season to this series, it totally deserves it!

That said, this season is somewhat disappointing compared to the previous season. For one, it felt a bit rushed, especially at the beginning. The show was quite decent but wasn't up to par until the Autumn Festival's final round, which is like 7 episodes in.. then the mini arc with Arako was very predictable and cliche, she's pretty but so annoying! Her relationship is exactly what I expected it to be, from Souma schooling her to lecturing her to "saving her" from the "Nakiri dilemma".. what really disappointed me was that her whole drama was so unfounded, it's basically her doing her own thing all the time without taking Erina's feelings in consideration.

This is still a really enjoyable series to watch.. and after the absence of Megumi, I start to realize that she's actually the best girl of this series. Erina is such a boring character who will probably have a predictable sad backstory about how she's burdened with responsibility and such. Her demeanor is also total trash, don't be fooled into thinking she's actually really cute with her hobby and shit, that's just the fluff to soften the "bad side" of hers.

Inui's also one of the best character in this series, she's hilarious. I also like Alice's chibi form, she's so cute when she's mad/pouty in that form.. I prefer her chibi form over her original form tbh. And of course, Souma is a really likeable protagonist. Oh, and I wish Takumi would have more screen time, he should be Souma's rival imo, he shouldn't be treated like he's beneath Souma. I wish the story would hype him back up again.

No bishie Souma in the end? That just took away a lot of impact from the ending and it was already rushed. Could have been better.

For those interested in bishie Souma:

This series alongside Season 1 probably has the best endings i've ever seen in credit to what is most certainly an incredible manga.

While I am dying upon the fact that it was only 13 episodes, the course of the cour was soo good. Season 1 was focusing on Souma's development from the bottom/proving his worth --> Season 2 focused on his path to the top.

I really like how they revolved this series more tightly around Souma- most apparent from the ED, it allowed for a tighter plotline which fits the cour.

Now back to the ending, it was expected that Hayama would win which made the which made Souma's apprenticeship at Shino's all the more satisfying.

*Can't believe I watched it all in 2 days >_< July seems so far away!! Would have never guessed an ecchi cooking series to be so good...

In the first part of this season I thought that the first season was much more interesting, but in the end it's as good as it's predecessor. Colorful picture and characters, some exciting music and story development. Very enjoyable. A pity it were only 13 episodes.

my only major thought is... WHERE IS SEASON 3?! I need more.
Hopefully they're gonna do a continuation right? They better.
Both seasons have been so magically delicious, I might just have to read the manga haha

I never before thought I would be into a cooking anime, but this was absolutely. scrumptious.
This show has me fired up to actually get more into cooking irl

-also, it was really cool seeing souma transcend his former self,
surpassing his previous level of skill and creating yet another unique mouth watering wonder.
I don't eat meat nor eggs, but I really wanted to try that dish omg

I wonder if the creators will come out with a shokugeki cooking book haha, I'd so buy it

imo, Season 2 waass sooo rushed and low budgeted compared to Season 1. S1 was so much better in story description...You can tell because there wasn't any imaginative scenes once they bit into the foods, only flashes and sparkles. I mean at one point your at the end of the Autumn Selection then all of a sudden you're at the internships with a ton of loophole in between. Like Isami never getting his cooking battle with Yukhira, or Erina never realizing that Yukihira's father was that chef she met year's ago. Nor a final cooking battle against Erina. I mean seriously. So rushed and so unfortunate. Season 1 was a 10/10 but Season 2 was pretty much dropped to a 6.

This season has been a bit off in the sense that it opens midway between a tournament arc, then follows with all the characters going off in to train individually to hone themselves. It's not as energetic nor quirky as the first season, but instead, it's more focused on methodologies, and now work place flow. It took me a bit to readjust, and while it's different, I think it's trying to show that after being completely dominant throughout most of the previous season, Soma has humbled a lot after consecutive ties and losses. He's seriously trying to learn more about cooking, rather than riding off of pure intuition and luck. He's not as explicitly hot-blooded, rather he's calm and focused.

This isn't what I expected from Shokugeki no Soma, as I've long since known it to be food porn and food orgasms prior to watching, so I'm pleasantly surprised that the series does, in fact, take food seriously. No, rather, it's not that it takes food seriously, but it can also be fun and enthusiastic while being capable of buckling down and going through both the overall and more in-depth processes that extend beyond the scope of the school. Interesting stuff.

Only with the latest episodes, this season has risen, but compared to the previous one, is inferior in certain respects. Although interlocutor, this series has had the merit of characterizing Yukihira's character, so it was not a waste of time to look at it.

7/10.

Great ending for a great season. Not as amazing as the first one, but still good by its own. Especially the episodes after the tournament were really awesome. First season had way better foodgasms and fanservice in general though, I hope season 3 will improve on that. 9/10

Hinako! But no Sonoka? :(
Kojirou's okaasan!
Dat flashback.
LMAO at Hinako getting uppercut and then her face getting palmsed by Kojirou.
The field from the ending theme. Did it spoil what's about to come?
Unlimited Kitchenware Works.
Souma is evolving?
Dat new form.
Dat dish...is his specialty?
LMAO at Souma saying it's a chicken and egg rice bowl.
Whoa! Dat Hinako body! LAWD! Show the nipples!
lol at Hinako getting slapped in the face.
Too low quality?
Souma passed.
lol at Takumi.
Alice oppai.
Ibusaki's eyes.
Megumi wants to be useful outside of the kitchen? What is this I'm hearing?
Souma's dish.
Dat ending theme.
Senpai's want to challenge Souma now.
LMAO Dude's an old man now.
Erina!
Dat ending.

Another great season of SnS and another new waifu (Sonoka) added to the harem. Disappointed that Sonoka wasn't in this episode. She was perfection. I'll miss her. I hope she appears again in the future. Also, dat ED theme beat at the beginning is too good.

While Shinomiya's going back to his roots after mastering everything he had dreamed of doing abroad, Souma's gonna go ahead and do the opposite and explore the vast reaches of the culinary world and absorb all of it to combine it into his very own unique style. Making that Cheeky Youngster Special was one of the most challenging and important things he'd ever done because he had to rely on his creativity alone to create a dish from a culture he's very unfamiliar with that can surpass the dishes of his professional co-workers who never spent a single day not practicing his craft. His creation was a manifestation of his rebirth as a whole new person and it ended up being one of the most delicious-looking recipes he has ever made ♥ It might've been rough around the edges to his master's tastes, he really did see the potential in it and put in the effort to make into one of SHINO's signature dishes.

The Autumn Elections were spectacular but I prefer the Stagiare Arc a bit more because it felt just like the 1st Season personally~ I can't wait to see Souma go on the next step of his journey!

This may have been the best episode of any anime I have ever seen.

When Shinomiya told Yukihira to take the 1st seat, I cried.

And s2 is over. The last 3 episodes saved this season. Stagiaire > Autumn elections. Shinomiya is the most underrated character in Food Wars.

7/10 for the anime.

Fantastic finale, this Stagiare arc as a whole has been fantastic but the closure in particular especially more so.

Seeing Soma and the others in these last few episodes added an extra layer to this show, in my opinion. To be honest, I was a little concerned how the latter half would go given how rushed the former was but, I’ve to say, it was a great change of pace.

Shinomiya-san giving the round-a-bout “okay” after all that intricate buildup was great, truly Shisho-like xD. Definitely going to miss these alumni bunch too, especially Hinako-senpai for his usual but charming antics.

It was nice to see some of the struggles from the other characters too. Aldini has truly perfected the moe-moe charm now, good work lad lol. I’m really looking forward to seeing normal services resuming from the third season.

Overall, this season definitely felt more pace-y but more grounded at the same time. A few more episodes could’ve done wonders I’m sure but here’s to hoping the future instalments won’t be looking to up the antie since it could crumble as a result of it.

I saw a few comments on the deteriorating animation quality btw but honestly it didn’t faze me at all.

Season 1 was certainly more enjoyable all things considered but this season a tad bit more thrilling. I wonder what Season 3 will bring to this intriguing world now.

Going to settle with a 9/10 for this season, too.

A fantastic episode overall to wrap up and finish off a fineseason in great fashion.

The Autumn Elections were okay but not perfect, and really needed the full season to flesh out the actual cooking matches and processes involved to prepare for them. Some battles were great and fun, some were forgettable due to the time crunch sadly. More time would have benefitted greatly.

But the Stagiaire arc raised a fairly solid season to a very good one. Loved the character development shown by Soma along with his skills and mentality towards cooking, even on a professional level now. Given how he was humbled in the finals against Hayama and was cooking a bit eccentrically while Hayama worked his ass off on evolving his specialty, now Soma's finally on the right path to truly be one of the top cooks in the school in the future.

Visuals were definitely a stepdown from the first season but still respectable enough, definitely a lot better than the future seasons to come. The reaction shots were really eccentric in the first season and the animation while still basic, was still a lot more varied and character art was better. Second season had its moments like the Jojo reference but not enough.

Overall, the season is an 7/10 for me. I enjoyed the season definitely, and the final arc really carried the rating from a 6 to a 7, but the first season still was superior. Am going to miss this season though, had tons of great little moments.

Third season is next and while I'm excited for the next arc, it's also the season that featured elements and characters that led to the downfall of the entire series in the long run.

While this season was great, the pacing felt rushed? Or maybe there just wasn't any breathing room and they just kept going on to the next thing right after another. Probably could of benefited from having a second cour.
