Maybe it's just me, but I feel like every time I finish an anime that I think is amazing, I just have not motivation or desire to watch another anime for a few weeks. For example, I just watched Toradora this week (yeah, i'm late to the party) and now I don't want to watch any anime for a while because of how good I thought Toradora was. I felt the same way when I finished Steins Gate, Spice and Wolf, Code Geass, and a few others. Usually I just download the OST and listen to that nostalgically lol.

No. Rather it's the otherway around. I'm always on the lookout for those titles that would be able to beat my top favorites. When I see something impressive, I try to find something even better. It's happened several times and they were the best feelings in the world (anime wise at least).

When I watch tons mediocre anime then I begin to lose motivation and become jaded. It's happened recently, but I got over it by watching My Daddy Long Legs and reading Aria.

What do you think you're piloting? Great Mazinger? Dangaioh? For Pete's sake, this isn't some robot cartoon whose main character is an autistic kid or some punk. - Kiichi Goto, Mobile Police Patlabor

I only ever lose motivation when nothing happens or there's fillers. Even if the next episode could be better, it's like, nah.

No. There's always something at least equal to look forward. Besides, it's not like you can't enjoy something just because it's not as good as this other awesome show.

It happens to me often. I get rid of that feeling by watching a bit of detective Conan to ease up my motivation to watch again. If I don't then I usually take a break from anime and do something else until I end up watching something again.

No. as long as you dont go into the next show expecting it to top the preivous amazing one your good, like i made the mistake of going into kanon 2006 after clannad AS expecting it be better. I think it killed a part of the shows enjoyment for me

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

When I finish a good series, I will usually revel in its aftermath for a bit. But usually not longer than a couple of hours. After that, I don't hold back from watching anything if I have something to watch.

I find that more often than that, when I find a good series I tend to stop watching it for a while part-way through and watch shitty stuff instead. I guess I fear that the series will go downhill and watch stuff I have no expectations of instead...

That said, I've only watched two anime in as many years that I could really put in my 8+ category. I've seen too much; nothing impresses me anymore.

I usually give it a day or a few hours, then I watch something else. I'm watching 7 shows that have finished airing and 19 that are currently airing, so I'll usually catch up on the airing ones if possible, then watch any of the ones that have finished airing. I'm never in the middle of only one story, so just because I loved Spice and Wolf and finished it a few days ago, it doesn't mean that I'm going to stop watching other stuff. For instance, I just started Ghost Hunt today, and I really enjoyed the 3 eps I watched. No problems.

Happening to me right now. Just recently started watching Beck and it's so amazing. If it's an amazing anime i tend to watch it nonstop, but i decided to hold myself back and watch other animes while watching it to savor it. Now when I'm watching other animes they seem so stale. Except for Fate/Zero and Naruto, those 2 still kick ass.

Not really. I do get a bit of a burnout and take a few days until I'm ready to start something new again, but I don't lose motivation for anime completely. My PTW list is numbering about 100 titles so I won't be running out of quality anime for a long while.

Yea i get that feeling sometimes. After watching something i really liked, i let my feelings and thoughts of the series marinate for a while before moving on to another anime. I would usually watch an anime of a completely different genre afterwards.

No, but I sometime lose motivation to watch anime when I'm disappointed by one.

Happened with Steins;Gate and Code Geass R2.

This.

Also, if you feel like taking small breaks after a good series, then do so. Cramming anime makes you enjoy it less.

If I finish a really great series, I might stop watching anime for the day, but I'd be watching it tomorrow.

I haven't lost motivation to watch anime yet, perhaps one day it'll happen...

Not really. It happened once, right after I finished Angel Beats!, but that was mainly because I marathoned the whole thing in one day; once there were no more episodes, I was pretty bummed and couldn't watch anything else. After that, I began to take breaks in between watching episodes, so I never really get that feeling anymore.

I get this sometimes. It depend on the grade i liked the show. If its an awesome show, i usually feel down 1-2days before watching some more. If its a bad show it doesnt really matter tho, i keep my motivation just to find that good show in between.

Doesn't usually ever happen to me. More like I feel like taking a break from anime after watching an 'eye vomit' one

Usually after i watch a great show i'd let my feelings and astonishmment of it sink in first before then trying to find another great show (Just like after i was done with Phantom, Toradora, or Steins;Gate)

I kinda understand that feeling, but usually it doesn't happen to me, because maybe I can never meet a sense of completion, even when I am thoroughly satiated.

Perhaps, when I began watching animes, I never thought of a clear beginning or end to the hobby, so I keep jumping into the next thing, even after disappointment or pure satisfaction.

No, instead i desperately search for an anime just as good whilst thinking "It's going to take me ages to find another good anime since i've seen most of the awesome ones" But then eventually i either find another awesome anime or decide to re-watch a series.
