| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ----------------------------------------  Never thought I'd see a scene like this in Yamato XD Well my questions from last episode were answered pretty quickly! Melda is left as a liasion between the rebel Gamilans and the Yamato. One note of interest that's been hinted at earlier in the series but more prominent here is that the Gamillons put Iscandarans on a pedestal. I'm curious to find out why that is in this final stretch The Gamilan higher ups are conniving ones. I thought the episode was going to revolve around whether if Yuki can keep her masquerade but they found out pretty easily and use it to their advantage to achieve their goals of unification. The final battle is on the horizon with the chips in place. One thing looming over everything is Okita's health. I'm not sure if he's going to make it out of this in one piece. His health has always been of issue throughout the series giving out at some particularly inconvenient times so I'm especially worried after hearing the latest analysis from the doctor and Makoto |

| It will be worth it! Even with some obvious story compression and editorial cutting (the update scenes at the beginning of this episode looked like they might have been produced to be part of an episode but were then repurposed), this was a pretty good episode. |

| The parfait craze made it all the way to the Salezar system it seems. And that was one epic cliffhanger. I'm assuming Desler will try to move the capital to Iscandar in his quest for unification. I wonder if iscandrians have any defensive capabilities. I mean their technology is obviously astonishing but they don't seem to leave their system. |

| We could say that this episode represents the quiet before the storm, the narration maintains the structure seen in the previous episode, in which life on board is shown with lots of serious and funny moments, the trio formed by Melda, Yurisha and Akira is really hilarious thanks to their speeches. The finale puts further anxiety on what must happen in the next episode. Desler is his show of magnanimity at the commemoration of Domel, proves once again his charisma but also his being a dictator instead of a leader. |

| So there's a huge painting in Desler's hall depicting him (?) and Starsha (?) alongside with Baleras and Iscandar. I think this picture was shown before, but I don't remember well. Maybe it was shown partially, without the Iscandarian part, to keep the mystery. UPD: No, it was shown in full in episode 8 already! How did I not notice it damn |

| I don't know, this felt a bit like potentially plot hole breaking revelations in this episode for me. If Iscander is a twin planet and the Garmillans view the Iscandarians as Gods, the fact that they gave Earth the engine to reach Iscander to save earth means they are in favor of Humans, so why can't they just order Garmillas to cease the war or attack on humans? really hope they touch on this. |
