Man wtf was going on in the head of these guys blasting shots like a home run IN the penalty area? Seriously there was like at least 3+ in the last 20 minutes or so. But 20 shots was pretty ridiculous overall.

I did not see the game but from the look of the stats it looked like Portugal were all over the Czech and should have scored more. Nice to see Ronaldo playing as good as he does for his club now for his country. The semi with Portugal vs France/Spain should be good with Ronaldo hitting form at the right time.

my hopes: Portugal - done
Germany
France
Italy

what will happen:
Germany
Spain
England

semi-finals: DE-ENG (ENG wins, because luck is at its best), SP-POR (Spain wins)
final: England - Spain, England wins
I think this is THAT year when luck plays its game in football (remembah Chelsea, City....)
but I HOPE it's not

Would be truly hilarious for football and non-football related reasons if Greece somehow beat Germany tomorrow.

Wow, the Czechs could generate no sustained offense whatsoever. Yikes. Greece vs Germany tomorrow. Will Germany kick Greece out of the Euro? Again? :p

What a borefest that was. Makes you wonder how the Czechs ever managed to get to the quarter finals. Pathetic.

You can expect more of the same with Greece vs Germany... Greeks are excellent defensively and typically park the bus versus stronger sides (they wait for the perfect counter-attack chance), but that makes for terribly boring football!

It's a great opportunity for Greece since Merkel will be on the field. If they are ahead 10 minutes before the end or they go to penalties i suggest that they send the coach to negotiate giving the Germans the game for a new low interest loan or new course out of the austerity measures.

On topic though the Greeks seem to have significant players missing. Ether from red cards or injured. If we take into account that Germany is already quite stronger anyway, they are gonna have hard 90 min.

No Gomes, but Podolski, I hope Germany isn't underestimating Greece too much, would be stupid to lose because of that.

Edit: Ha, Germany has problems making the plays, as expected from a counter team, they'll need to create a goal with their own play making skills, if they can that is. Greece is playing really dirty though.

Great goal from Lahm. It was going to happen eventually with all the chances. Just want Klose to score one though. On the flip side, Schweinsteiger's really had a poor game thus far.

Also, does the Greek goalie know that it's okay to use your hands?

Reminds me of Euro 2008, lol. Germany was playing pretty damn good offensively but they lost in the final since they didn't get enough possession with Spain doing their usual passing game.

Weakest game at this tournament. Might have been interesting if it would have been 0-0 till later in the game, after all the germans were kinda starting to panic after missing all those chances, but then Lahm scored and probably killed this game, Chelsea played just as ugly as Greece, against Barca and Bayern, but they had some good players.

At least once it's over I won't have to hear all those lame jokes that surrounded this match, basically the same joke over and over again.

@Tachii: ....it's a joke right!? the two games can't be compared, also Spain had the greater goal opportunities in that final, just search for the match report that clearly proves what I said.

Really closely contested first half! This one could go either way... LOL riiiiiight

Greece should've faced the Czech Rpublat way NOBODY would've watched that bore fest and the world would be better place! At least that would've been a close game ... an incredibly boring (probably 0-0) that would've been resolved in PK's.

Wow Greece is playing way too dirty, defensively and 22% possession, wow, hoping Germany is going to win this one, Greece is playing bad and not showing any good looking football.

To go along with the theme: Greece is showing Germany what they think of the cuts they need to make.

Win as expected. They didn't even get nervous after that 1-1 and just answered right back.

Both greek goals were presents fom Germany. That totally unnecessary turnover (they had WAY too many of that, some awful passing, especially by Schweinsteiger) and that penalty was also pretty stupid.

But some VERY obvious weaknesses in Germany's play, especially in transition from offense to defense (after those terrible turnovers). If they play like that against a remotely decent team, they'll get their asses kicked...

Meh, Germany won, didn't have a big challenge anyway, Greece did way better than any one would have thought on the start of this Euro, Germany just was a too big of an opponent.

So tomorrow an exciting game Spain - France, hopefully a good game, if Spain doesn't put a striker in there, they might just lose.

I wasn't really comparing the two games, but how the tournament went. Though it seems I mixed up the World cup with the Euro cup. In the World cup Germany scored a lot before facing Spain in the semifinals who possessed the ball a lot more. Teams can't really face Germany in terms of relying on defense and counterattacks because Germany is an offensive powerhouse.

Apparently, Spain doesn't need no stinkin' strikers. What's amazing is that France started at least 6 defensive minded players and still allowed a goal this early.

Go France, dammit. Cabaye my cutie pie~ <3

XD

edit: shitty ref...been helping Spain the whole game.

I am seriously starting to dislike how Spain plays nowadays. This match was quite boring! It feels like Spain did not even try that hard, well they at least were not that eager to score any more after the first one. As for the French players, they were just pathetic.

well, I will predict the funny future now:
Italy wins England 2-0
Germany wins Italy 2-1
Spain wins Portugal 2-1
Finals (now here it comes);
Germany vs Spain
minute 25 - Gomez scores 1 goal
minute 57 - Fabregaz scores
minute 87 - Gomez/Klose/Muller get a big change and Casillas saves it, passes to Fabregaz, Fabregaz to Torres, Torres runs overpasses Boateng, 1 on 1 with Neuer, overpasses Neuer, scores
Torres Fifa World Player of the Year

You all know it will happen (well probably except Torres Fifa World Player of the Year)

Even if I agreed with your opinion (which I don't, he did an ok job), you can't place all the blame on the referee, the French players lost the ball quite easily and they did that quite often, also they had a single important goal opportunity, in the first half.

Though the French played really bad at the end of the second half and the beginning of the first, I did think that they played well enough for a goal in the beginning of the second half. Also Spain has the amazing talent to make any game extremely boring, almost fell asleep, thank god for coffee. Hoping for the next match that Torres plays from the beginning, he is the only reason I somewhat like Spain.

The main fault of France was that they didn't create enough chances and the chances they got weren't finished, really performance by Benzema, played worse than van Persie in this Euro.

Tomorrow Italy - England, should be quite a close game, but another possible boring one, with England locking up at times, Italy might have trouble getting to the goalkeeper, still expecting a win from Italy though.
