That's not true. All Akira said is that there are no female werewolves in the Earth Clan. I don't recall it ever being mentioned that were no female werewolves at all.

And people shouldn't compare this with the manga. It wasn't a direct adaptation from the start, it was more like an alternative telling that borrowed a few elements from the manga. Nozumi Tamaki made somewhat of a wager with SHAFT to do it differently, and so they did (and he got a small role in the show himself in return).

Overall, I liked this show. Not the best ever, but definitely not as bad as many people say it is. I give it a 7.5 for now and might raise it to 8 once I've seen the Blu-Rays.

SHAFT have really outdone themselves this time and produced a grand finale of mediocracy and emotionless-garbage.. No calling this episode mediocre is giving it too much credit because it absolutely SUCKED on so many different levels.

Again anyone who rate this SHAFT anime above 7 (which it don't deserve either) must eat shit for breakfast...
Me I'm rating it as a 5 and that' only because it's loosely based on a good manga.

So it ended. Actually am a little relieved because it was kind of an abomination destroying the reputation of the manga and it now finally over.

I don't care that they changed the story completely in this last episode since such adaptation is better off having a different story than the manga and in general this episode was a little better than other more chaotic ones but the whole series was badly directed with developments and facts thrown in to our faces out of nowhere stupid kill time episodes at the start, poorly animated battles, red screens (and yellow in this episode) of death, stupid eye scenes and many more.

This anime wasn't destroyed by the fact that it had an alternative story but by the fact that it was simply badly made. SHAFT has no idea how to make this types of shows and should never try again because it destroys them.

So for this episode they created a second Mina as a rival of the original and they made her the leader of Telomere if i understood right. They made the three clans members of Telomere also.
It doesn't explain the role of them wanting Mina as a future vampire mother since they have a clone.
The most strange thing though is the fact that by creating such story they are sending messages for a second season. Were they really pleased by what they made and they want to make a second one? Do this people have no realization of there actions?

In general a good show that was very badly made and turned into just average. The only thing i liked in Shaft's work was the OP/ED songs and the voices of the the main characters, especially Mina's. Other than that they tried there best to destroy Dance in the Vampire Bund. With the material existing from the manga any other studio even not so great ones will have done a lot better job.

Is there any other subbers that subbed ep 12 besides Funimation? I think this series is really suffering atm because of the really Low quality subs/video that have been thrown out. I think this series deserves better then most people give it credit for.

Oh yeah I hadn't thought about that .__. you're right, doesn't make any sense then D: PLOTHOLE. Unless they make up some excuse like "clones can't reproduce" or something =/

yeah it seemed like they were hinting at a second season >_>

Hmm... quite a different fight, compared to manga volume 5... Really feels they rushed things, and put Mei-Ren as an enemy... That was interesting anyway ;)

On the other hand, big spoiler at the end... Damn, i want the next volumes now !!

7/10 because of the three last episodes... Rushing things is never good...

I like the series overall and would rate it a 8.5/10. There was one episode i really did not care for.

As for the ending it was awesome. Mieren's Animal form was quite a site to see. 2 Mina's? There's got to be another season coming up, or at least I hope so.

Did anyone else hope that Akira's Arm regenerated or put back on at the end? Then the scene with Him and Mina showed it did.

Overall I think it was the best Anime of the previous season.

I agree with the fact that Mina's clone is the leader of Telomere, but I think the Three Families aren't part of Telomere.
Meiren was a servant of Telomere, so if the Three Families were too, why would she say: (talk with Akira before the battle)

"Because I've been waiting patiently.
For the top rulers of vampires, Mina Tepes and the Three Families, to gather in one spot.
For the chance to finally reduce them to ashes.
A chance for me, and for that person" (Mina's clone)
(Yuurisan-Subs)

So they left a lot to explain, but I don't want to speculate about that, because there'll be a second season! It has to be XD

I am disappoint.
Damn this has got to be the first time SHAFT has disappointed me (and hopefully the last?) >.>
Why did they have to ruin a perfectly fine story? D:
Not just that.. But they made... This out of it? D:
Stupid Meiren.
Disappoint I say, disappoint.
A 6/10, because it had some decent fight scenes >.> Actually, make that a 5/10, I was just reminded of how disappointed I was.

After watching that, I feel like I never understood what was going on, even though I do. Terrible. This show was very, very bad. Words can't really express how confounded I am by the senselessness with with this episode unfolded. I think that with this failure of a show, I have relinquished my fanaticism for SHAFT. They're too ambitious, and not at all concerned with how to tell a good story with strong characters. Shinbo should just make storyboards, and they should get a real director, writers, etc. to handle storytelling.

I'm beside myself.
3/10, and I don't know why I'm not giving it a 2.

Summary:

An intriguing concept thats spoilt badly by a poor, mushy romance story, a relatively poor script (if the subs are anything to go by) and clichés which you just shouldn't be seeing from any anime, or more importantly, a vampire based narrative.

They could not have made that ending of Dance in the Vampire Bund piss me off anymore than it already did.

What was with the 10 clones? What the shit did they feel the need to make that up for.

WHY were they watching the fight? The whole suspense of it was you don't know the victor until the door opens.

His arm was so easily re-attached? Arms don't just connect like a clip on.

And what was with all the "Dancing". THIS ISN'T A BALLET ANIME WTF

Where were all my epic twists, awesome suspense and greatest development. Shaft used to be cool. They fucked up royally on this one. Here's to hoping Arakawa Under the Bridge isn't as farfetched from the original as this shit was

They can express a "dance" through combat as they attempted to but it seemed to me like they tried a bit too hard to put in the irony of "DANCE in the Vampire Bund". My main point is, was it really that difficult for them to follow the manga and make a good anime out of that.

season 2 maybe?

Dunno, as I understood it the real Mina didnt even know those clones existed. They were created by 3 vampire lords trying to reproduce Minas immortality, but they didnt actually succeed? Or something like that lol

Liked this series, hope there will be season 2

There was an interview not to long ago about how the SHAFT and the mangaka where going for something original with this. Apparently the mangaka didn't want the producers following the manga and in staid wanted them to think up their own plot.
With that said I think her being a weretiger was gay. There's no such thing as weretigers.

Series was decent but the ending was obviously rushed. I think if this was longer it could have turned into something interesting.

Well, I give them props for TRYING to give the ending "closure" as far as Telomere goes, which hopefully means no 2nd season please. But REI AYANAMI was in my head this entire episode and so, I *facepalmed* and *headshaked* even while they used Yuki's nice narration to make the ending an ending. Anyway, I've put off this last episode for a while now and am so glad to be done with this anime "adaptation". And if I may add, I was super happy inside during Meiren's death while the Cradle and Akira's chopped arm did not get any reaction from me except "Hey, it's manga stuff made rushed and superficial, blah." To be nice, 6/10.

Now, back to the awesome manga I go. :)
