And....Arata is in deep trouble, hell I'm not surprised. Oh wait, so is Kanate.

So, I guess plenty of action in this episode, at least in the beginning. It's kinda tense and I like the atmosphere. Seems like Arata does gets some fight in him. All dem feels.

Episode was alright for me, Arata sure picked business up this episode. Lol @ the end art:

Well, I take back a bit what i said about Arata last episode. He really stepped it up this time around with his fight against the warden. Arata's hayagami was badass and apparently is the sword of origin, which just happens to be the most powerful hayagami. Now he possesses the wardens hayagami as well as the wardens spirit living inside Arata's hayagami. Guess the warden will be some sort of spiritual adviser?

Good episode for me. Glad to see Arata step it up.

This was an okay episode. Arata is better in this episode but nowhere where he could be. Kotoha is as flat as a board, though she's not much better in the manga either. Kanate is better too, even though I thought that both boys do quite a bit of annoying yelling.

I'm kind of mad that Seo has yet to show up. He's an important character and serves as Arata's guide and teacher. He also teaches Seo the name of his hayagami. I hope he shows up later on.

I also felt that they could have done a better job in showing why Arata's hayagami never appeared before and why Arata was finally able to bring it out in the end. How the hayagami was never going to appear as long as Arata himself never believed in himself. They did an okay job here, but they never fully show how Arata has piss-poor self-esteem and it's not JUST a trust issue he has. He has a lot of emotional scars and baggage that make him always doubt himself and others. His journey in this story not only helps the kingdom, but helps him to become a much stronger person as well.

Well now that the Gatoya arc is over, it's quickly on to the Kannagi/Ohika arc of the story. Let's see how much they can get through in 8 more episodes.

Arata really stepped up this ep. Hope he stays BA like this and doesn't go into a slump again going back to being a loser.

Kotoha is <3...And Arata unlike the usual didn't even mind when Osome called her his girlfriend so does that mean...?

Wow, talk about the most underrated anime of the season; this is getting really good. I absolutely loved this episode, Arata's character is developing nicely. Tsutsuga and Arata's confrontation made me sad too.

So when does Kadowaki come into that world?

Based on the pacing, I guess it's somewhere episode 7-9. Though given this series seems to be only 12 episode, I guess the later episodes is probably anime original.

Looks like they are going to skip chapter 18 of the manga, I guess we can expect some other chapters going to be skipped as well.

I'm hoping they gave an open ending which made a 2nd season possible (though it is unlikely).

Being betrayed by your friends is an everyday occurrences; it is your freaking own fault for being naive in the first place, so get use to it! Jeez! Who do you think is well place to backstab you if not your friend?

I think Arata by trying to save that old man is saving himself, so he is like everyone, thinking of himself, human nature is a bitch sometimes.

Good I hope he continues to man up, I mean hey yo! You got a total babe believing in you, it is no time to look bad! :)

Decent Ep. pace stepped up some, got some action, at least he has a whole boatload of Sho's to work through, so that should be entertaining. Time for this anime to catch up to the other good shows this season...

I think he learned that the word said as betrayal is to protect him, just like that brother did.

The "judge" guy just set trap so that the criminal is a killer. So that old man also got betrayed by a friend and became "judge" guy. He saved the sword and "judge" guy went with Arata's sword as a soul of that new sword?

Finally out of the jail place.

There were some nice bgm in this episode. Nice character development with Arata, I'm glad he still has hope that Hinohara is his friend. I liked the part where Arata was trying to pull out the hayagami and the black thing surrounding him, was pretty cool to watch.

Wow Arata is developing quite well. He was BA with his Hayagami. That was a sad past with Tsuguga. He betrayed his friend then got backstabbed. Which explains why he made this prison. Arata could relate to Tsuguga. But he still trusted his friend. Now he is part of Arata's Hayagami. His Hayagami is the "Sword of Origin" So he has to collect Hayagami. I hope when Kadowaki come here, he will understand what Arata truly feels.

Yeah I was pretty much thinking the same thing. This episode was good and Arata diddnt complain as much, instead he fought. If this keeps up this could be a decent anime.

What happened to AlcatrazGatoya island? I thought Arata was going to be a ruler of the island, but he left. He released those captured people. Was that all?

This week played out like a JRPG dungeon from something in Grandia. Nostalgia kicked in for my enjoyment but in 2013 I expect more from my series : P

I also learned screaming makes all of your problems go away I guess?

All he did was change its appearance back to its old self.

Had a minor thought during the episode.
What do the prisoners eat? Not sure if i'm wrong, but have anyone seen any food in Gatoya?
And administration's going to be a bigger problem now that the warden (Arata) leaves.

Which happens to be the best bet for now, Arata does not stand by as a spectator, you will make a move on! Also good part about the fight and the ending, now has available a double sword! Go Arata, take them all on our asses ! the thing that I like it a lot still are the drawings, a little rough!

Because anime adaption took out this and that and didn't show it...

looked ok but not digging it that much...

read a few chaps of the manga and it does a way better job in conveying what Arata really feels...

I got kinda annoyed with all the yelling...

The more the sword awakens and the stronger Arata becomes the cleaner and newer it looks, it's actually a plot point.

They actually don't explain it till later that when a hayagami and it's Sho submit to another, that other person can use both his own hayagami and the one that submitted to him as it is now effectively his. The person who was submitted to, can use any submitted sword in his arsenal. It's not so much shape-shifting as it is swapping. Arata doesn't really do that often in the storyline, only when it's necessary. He mostly just uses his own.
