At first, yes - I did feel cynical about an anime based on a game. And yes, I did play the game for what seemed to be a suitable amount of time for any 15 year old challenged with studies [not many hours, for a month]. But when i watched this... aha.. I couldn't help but think how effin' adorable it all was!! x]

Okay. Not everyone likes the game, it's a fact. A lot of people agree that the OP seems weak, and the 'childish' factor through out all aspects of the series deters a lot of anime watchers. But that's only because it's not aimed at them [+13year olds, wanting action, ecchi, romance, drama and slice of life], it's aimed at +5yearolds starved for fantasy, talking and adorable monsters in a laid-back happy world of good and evil. That's my guess anyways.

But if you, like me, can still enjoy a rather childish anime series like pokemon or digimon [...well, not as dramatic as digimon], then I hope that you can give MapleStory a try. It's something of a slice-of-fantasy life anime, as kid's anime are. A big kid like you probably would only watch this to have something colorful to start off the day whilst eating breakfast.

_ my generous rating goes without saying... you can't go wrong with a children's anime. xP simple story, simple/pleasant art, simple sounds [music isn't half bad, voice acting is great - though I'm no expert], characters are simple yet captivating, enjoyment.. i guess it depends, as cheesy as it sounds, on how shamelessly in touch one is with their inner-child.

I won't blame you if you skip the OP [i know i do], or just can't find enjoyment in a simple, childish/fantasy adventure anime. x-X' Just don't hate on the anime cos of whatever bad experiences you had with the game. read more

Well...I have watch 5 subbed episodes of this and its good

Storyline was kinda old but nice :D

Its art was quite normal :) It sound was good and character was well developed like Al was a guy that wants to become stronger :D I enjoyed alot watching it :D
