Synopsis

Four high school girls in uniforms walk silently on the barren earth. These girls are time travelers who had been sent 6000 years into the future, from their present in which the same day is endlessly repeated, in order to evade human extinction.

They studied time travel in school, were examined by the aptitude test, and were sent to the future as told. What should they do now? They had no idea. The only thing they could take with them from the present was a light, toy-like cellphone. Of course, it receives no signal here.

As the girls are walking, they see strange birds flying in the sky, and a discolored river in the distance.

Then, one girl finds an abandoned house, and recognizes the name inscribed on the front gates.

First of, this is my very first review of anything here on MAL ever and it will therefore also considering this to be an 1Episode OVA be rather straight forward and not too long.

Have you ever been thinking how the future might affect your past and viceverse? Well, what this 1 episode OVA tries to do is to sort of make your brain twist around 360 degrees and make you think once again about how the future possibly could be like, aswell how it could affect your past and how the two are connected to eachother.

The story is in my opinion slightly mindtwisting due to read more

First off, i have to say i was extremely confused with the whole story in general. The details, characters and everything were so annoyingly vague it had me frustrated to no end.

And i have NO idea how this happened but even though i totally didn't get what was going on, by the end i was pretty much bawling my eyes out. Now i personally think its extremely unfair that i was so 'emotionally abused' by this 30 minute anime movie that didn't even make sense! I mean i have a general 'idea' but basically everything was so vague that it wasn't something i would read more

I know its just a one EP ova wtfffff OK I say this Anime thinking it would be good time traveling Anime ....... But at the end all i was doing was scratching my head out of confusion of what was going on and how they solved the problem. Look they story this anime is trying to do is very interesting.. Four high school who are time travelers they been sent 6000 years into the future, from their present in which the same day is endlessly repeated, in order to evade human extinction is a very interesting idea. you would think this anime would be read more

First point: you won't really understand the story unless you read the manga. Already an inconvenience. How many people can really say they will read a manga AND a light novel to understand a 30min anime? If you're in to that, off you go but otherwise, stay with the group of people who were just interested in something about the anime I can't even remember.

This anime is actually a really good short but its one major flaw is the fundamental one - the plot line. Every other aspect is either average or good like the animation (one of the better ones I've seen) or the read more

Anime: Coppelion
They might seem different but Arata naru Sekai: Mirai-hen and Coppelion both give off a similar vibe with a familiar environment. The main characters in fact hopes to prevent humanity's destruction in a futuristic settings. Additionally, the main characters all possesses special abilities that makes them more unique than others.

There is also the theme of science fiction along with emotional factors.

If you're looking for a philosophical, confusing time travel plot, these two stories are alike.
For instance, both display some similarities like good soundtrack and animation, the overuse of cellphone theme, romantic hints and again, a future where mankind is almost at extinction. I prefer NG because it develops its characters much better. In both, the plot is not very consistent and leaves you thinking and wondering, but if you appreciated one, you'll surely appreciate the other.

Anime: Mou Hitotsu no Mirai wo.
"World's End" / "Arata naru Sekai: Mirai-hen" and "Mou Hitotsu no Mirai wo." are two short anime that each focus on a form of time travel via pseudo-science.

Though the tone and atmosphere are very different, the protagonists of both respective works are groups of good friends who do not seek out to do harm.

Anime: Hoshi no Koe
Both are about a pair of lovers separated by a normally insurmountable distance. There is also a cell phone involved.

Anime: Computer Kakumei: Saikyou x Saisoku no Zunou Tanjou
-Both try to show the future (thought CK is a near future and Arata naru a future from 600o years from now), the technology or what has happened to the world.
-Both are weird, but some how interresting.
