how have you been?

I am using the public holiday to sort out my replies, so I am sorry that I didn´t reply this weekend. I hope you got some time to relax and things are better. do you like being busy? tbh, I do find being busy quite soothing. I guess I like feeling needed, important and productive :D. if only I had something I would be passionate about, I´d be a worker of the month. not that i am not passionate about my work, but right now, things are just not as smooth. too much info! too much info! sorry!

I think that just described why highly intelligent people often suffer in life because they don´t really have a lot of others to appreciate their hobbies and interests. I am sorry and hope you find people who could accompany you. the bizarre art exhibitions sound awesome, but knowing myself and my art preferences I cannot blame your friends. who are your favourite artists? painters or sculpturers? I like Bernini, Rembrandt, Ribera, Velázquez. You can see even in my taste I reflect realism, lack of striving for something more abstract, untouchable and deep. it´s more like "what you see, you get". not that I can´t sometimes get all dreamy and idealistic but I can only show sympathy just how hard it must be to find like minded people.

as for the French films club, I think it´s more like who might come to the screening - intellectual high schoolers with their noses up, thinking the world is theirs and that their way of seeing the story is the best ... weren´t we all like this? I am really too old for this. I don´t need to overhear the convos no matter how much I can try to concentrate on myself. I am just so sick and tired of noise - all the blabla and all that pretentiousness. I am just old and tired :D. though I wanted to see that one movie with Niels Schneider. that´s my biggest regret.

that kind of explains it. I have no sense of humour :D that is why FG was a great place to kill some time and meet some great people, but I just don´t posses the sense of humour like the others who like to talk about their sex lives, preferences and just whatever they find in the darkest corners in their mind.
I envy you that you don´t care what others think of you but I can also understand that because you are a likeable person. you are obviously intelligent. even if anyone said anything against you and you wished to react, you´d say something clever and make them shut up. though I am a bit disappointed and maybe scared. I have always some users were actually just ordinary people and not like ... that in real life but maybe you are right. this makes the games so much scarier though. maybe I am the oldest generation tbh :D. I was fine imagining that some were just hiding behind their avatars and were acting that way for that exact reason...

do you have time to read outside of your specialization? I studied French and English but I am not the brightest bulb :D. but uni was disappointing to me too. I thought I would finally fit in and find "my people". only to work hard not to fail and finish it quickly so I could join the workforce because my family needed money, needed someone to help out. I guess I was lucky because I didn´t have to think about any deeper thoughts. I had to do it because there was no other choice. if I failed, I would start working full time soon. that was it. no disappointment with the academic life because I was dumb enough to thank my lucky stars to even be admitted. I still don´t know how and why but somehow wow, they really do let anyone study :D.
this is why I think intelligent people need care and a lot of pats on the back. you suffer the most.
but you should be a confident person!

you remind me so much of OniMage it´s insane. similar interesting way of thinking, similar original way of thinking and I sometimes laugh at his music taste (gently though, he is among best people I have ever met on this site)

OK, you told me to take some time, but I still feel like you might've forgotten me by now 😅 It is finals week so I've been panicking and procrastinating my studies too much to be on MAL much.
Hmm it is hard for us to know more about Marx/Nietzsche when our bummy teachers do connotate them to other ideologies and then talk about something simpler lol. Seems like Marx really wanted to change society though. Well, do you think any of his ideas or criticisms were valid? Also yeah book bans are not as common anymore. More of the youth isn't even very interested in reading anymore I bet so if anything banning books just brings more attention to them, especially since information on them can be readily available online.
NOOO Why did you remind me of Omega Mart 😭 I saw it all over Tiktok a year or two ago and always wanted to go. But when we were making plans for Vegas I forgot all about it and I'm still hitting myself over it. In my school I'm in the black student union and we were thinking of going to a slave museum before the school year ends- slightly more interesting than glasses and lights hehe. Speaking of Greek art, I went to a place called the Getty Villa and it was full of it. This is the only pic I can show because every other one has my dumb ass face reflecting in the glass 😂 I had a lot of fun trying to figure out why the Greeks wanted to give dicks to EVERY statue and art possible.
Hopefully you had a good time at comicon. I am kind of interested in stuff like that or anime cons but I am more scared of the stenches than to ever have any interest.

Learning about your school system was actually pretty interesting! A lot more interesting that mine fore sure... I don't know how much I would enjoy being stuck in a single classroom though because then that means you can't skip a period if you don't feel like it. Since you are in compsci which lyceum do you fall under or go to?

Hey, sorry for taking an absurdly long time to respond, i haven't been on here much lately and in general haven't been in a talkative mood.

I could do i suppose, though i don't think institutional education is really what i'm looking for at the moment, i suppose i'll just stick to being a NEET at the moment while i try and figure something out for myself.

That sounds rough man, i'm sorry. Having to lose years of work to a stupid software issue sounds beyond frustrating, good on you for trudging your way back into uni though and getting it done, i think i would've just packed it in at that point.
