"Oshi no Ko"

Both take more grounded, realistic takes on the struggles of being a Japanese idol.  

Both animes, even though they have many differences, share similarities such as: similar quality of storytelling (the original creator of the source materials is the same, by the way); similar quality and intensity of comedy elements; main characters dealing with false and true sides of themselves and the way others perceive both of these sides; a lot of expressive, overly emotional reactions, coated with a lot of melodramatic moments. 

Both animes tackle the "dirty" part of the entertainment industry. The analysis, however, goes further by bringing the dramas experienced by those who make up this environment. Don't think they are idol anime with songs and cute things! You really feel the pain and anguish of real problems, real people. 

Similar premises where the protagonists navigate through the entertainment industry in order to seek revenge. Skip Beat's direction of revenge is of the basis of romantic connections whereas Oshi no Ko focuses more on familial ties but with an extra element of an emotionally charged mystery. They'll meet peers that will mutually challenge each other to grow in the industry as well as facing challenges that will test their talents and emotions. 

Both are referring to a murder mystery. While the difference being the element of reincarnation in one vs time travel in the other, in both the MC wishes to solve a murder that is related to himself, while uncovering family secrets.  

Younger versions of the reincarnated MCs share the same VA and act way more mature than their age. You get to see how being reincarnated younger gives them certain advantages. Completely different plots otherwise, but certainly amusing nonetheless. 

Their consepts about psychological issues, especialy puberty issues. Which means if you like animes that about characters issues and handle method agaisnt their problems, you love both of them. For more recommendations, you must watch EVANGELION, Yahari ore no seishun love comedy wa machigettairu, perfect blue, maybe mushoku tensei and serial experiments Lain. 

The central plot is quite similar for these two shows - a doctor puts his career on hold to track down a killer. Both involve similar themes regarding how revenge can consume someone.  

Both anime involve the music industry and the reincarnation of individuals. "Oshi no Ko" is dramatic, while Paripi Koumei is more comedic. 

They both make fantastic songs. 

A dark mystery thriller with fantasy elements playing a key role in the inciting incident of both stories. While Aqua lacks the over the top villainy of Kira, they share a brooding mastermind quality against a backdrop of colorful characters in a corrupt world.  

Long first episode with twisty ending and similar results lead to series that is more mystery than the initial episode. 

Both shows try to show the "reality" behind the idol industry. They talk a lot about the nature of relationships between idol/celebrities and their fans and often use the same topics like "how fans would react to an idol being in a relationship". The differences would be that the tone is way more comedic in OshiBudou and that he issues aren't treated as seriously as in Oshi no Ko, but it could be interesting if you want to see more of these topics in a dedicated anime. 

They are both about high-schoolers in the entertainment industry and their struggles, it also has a stalker. It's light-heatred with lovable characters 

similarity: Both have cutesy concept but yeah. Better watch both of them to fully understand. It also caters social dilemma. difference: Madoka Magica has obviously a "magical girl" concept, while Oshi no Ko focuses on entertainment industry.  

Both shows have a young single mother who is lying to the entire world to protect their children. Despite both shows go on different paths in their stories, they both capture motherly aspect very well. Both Maquia and Ai are not perfect mothers due to their circumstances(because Maquia having a long life and Ai being an idol). But they are doing their best to make sure their children would live a happy life. If you like those aspects I would highly recommend both shows to anyone. 

both have an elder talented idol leading on the main character and approach the idol industry from a slightly different side than other popular idol anime (like lovelive). kamikuzu is more about comedy and the main character regaining his motivation to be an idol oshinoko is more dark and focuses more on the industry also both have a really good voice cast they have other similarities but i cant spoil anything here, anyways i recommend watching kamikuzu with my whole heart. 

Both anime are full of plot twists, with Odd Taxi being more of a 'mystery' anime, and Oshi no Ko more focused on 'drama' and acting itself but still has a mystery element to it. Odd Taxi's mystery highly revolves around radio news/media and the idol industry (with some mafia stuff), while in Oshi no Ko it revolves entirely around the entertainment industry. Odakawa, for the most part, takes a backseat (driver's seat?) in Odd Taxi as an observer; while Aqua drives the story of Oshi no Ko. Both Odakawa and Aqua are smart and tactical MCs; Odakawa uses his intelligence to deduce information and strategise (often making critical decisions very quickly), while Aqua uses it to control information and manipulate people. Both anime appear chill at first, but is actually dramatic and thrilling underneath it all. Odd Taxi is mostly about 'who' is suspicious, while Oshi no Ko is a lot about 'what' happened (like reading a tabloid article). read more 

Both male MCs embark on a quest for vengeance while hiding their true identities from the world. Both MCs have strong family values and are highly intelligent, but must grapple with their humanity on the way to achieving their goals 

Mix idols with death. Oshi no Ko is a lot more drama and less Idols, while Zombieland Saga is the opposite 

- Both are focused on the backend of the idol industry in Japan - Oshi no Ko portrays more realistic and darker aspects of the industry whereas Heroine is very much aspirational - Both are entertaining and show you what being a manager for idols is like - Great idol music 

Both Oshi no Ko and Love Live feature the genre of music idols and have decent drama plots. However, Love Live has far more episodes and is more lighthearted in nature. And of course, it has the famous "Nico-nico-nii" catchphrase most people will get. Worth watching. :)

Both Idolish7 and Oshi no Ko talk about the entertainment industry and make a little critize about it too, it combines the idol concept and make a twist by diving deep in the worst parts of the industry, in this season things get more dark and the "revenge" part plays an important part of the plot 

Aqua and Ayanokouji... both MC names start with A, but that's not the main point. After all, they are stereotypical teens who prefer to keep a low profile but end up standing out. They are always scheming and have that cool and gloomy introverted vibe, constantly calculating their next move for their grandiose plan of discovering the mastermind of a murder or overcoming challenges to gain freedom. These dudes are well-known for becoming popular with girls and treating them as tools, willingly playing the role themselves, with a use-and-discard mentality. Their intelligence is so impressive that it effortlessly impresses even the hottest girls. Ayanokouji is overpowered in terms of strength compared to others, while Aqua possesses previous life memories and takes advantage of his handsome appearance to manipulate superficial girls, using both his looks and intelligence to gain an upper hand in his underhanded dealings with women. Both of them are smart dudes who overcome challenges and view girls as tools to further their goals. read more 

I swear, when I first saw this I thought this was a parody version of oshi no ko. Just watch romantica clock if you want to see characters that look and have similar personalities of the twins in oshi no ko interacting like "normal family members" in two minutes. If you imagine that the characters in romantica clock are the twins from oshi no ko the experience is enchanced by 200% trust me 

In both anime we have a revenge desired main character. They want to avenge a woman that is importnat in their life. Mc has a sibling that also loved that woman but they dont want revenge that badly, they mostly want happy life in different place and fulfilling their current dreams. Both anime are full of mysteries and plot twists. Simultaneously with the dark part there is comedy part in both.  

Both of these shows just take a totally unexpected turn at the end of their first episode. Even though it becomes a completely different show than you were watching for most of the first episode, it's definitely worth it to keep watching.  

if you finished about half of Oshi no ko, you know that it addresses how su1sidle thoughts are created and how people are handling them. a silent voice is another anime that addresses the thought of meaning less in life, and how to overcome it. both are extremely emotional stories. 

Oshi no Ko is another twisted anime to watch if you liked the plot twists and confusion of Boogiepop And Other. Not certain Oshi no Ko Have same dementia 

Characters masquerading as someone they are not but eventually turning lies into truths. 

Simplesmente um dos animes mais belos já produzidos. Contém uma boa história, além de ser bem feita. Existem alguns personagens marcantes na obra, mas além disso, possui uma evolução pessoal dos personagens, tanto o pessoal como no caso do Aqua, e Ruby 

If you've seen Oshi no Ko, you should definitely watch Bakuman. Bakuman follows the behind-the-scenes of the manga industry in the same way Oshi no Ko follows the idol industry. Bakuman is about two boys who are determined to make a successful manga. The series details the struggles, successes, failures, and personal lives of the two main characters. Though Bakuman follows the ins and outs of the manga industry, it is ultimately more lighthearted than Oshi no Ko but is still a very good watch and is a very inspiring series. 

The idols or heroes that people look up to are deceiving the people that admire them. The premise of both shows at first makes it seem a bit simple and silly, yet if you give them time you notice how everything is not black and white. By doing that, both shows give depth to the genre they represent. If you like shows like these give them a try. Animation is well done in both shows as well. 

Adult in a child's body living a children's life. Also, plenty of mystery as well. No idols, though. 

"Yuri is my job" is about highschool girls acting their ages in a cafe shop, pretending to be besty rivals and learning when or when not to put on a facade emotion both publicly and behind the scene in their private life. Just like a reality show where the actors/ actresses have to decide which one is their real soulmate at the end with public coments affecting the direction of the show. If you like this kind of physological conflicits, you should also watch Oshi No Ko, apart from having a similar reality show arc that also blur the line between reality and acting, the characters now also have to face the reality of operation of the idol industry and hate comments which is much more challenging. Highly recommand this show if you are into the lying part of the show. read more 

Odd recommendation but let me tell ya, the plotline is very similar. -Both involve the main character investigating after a character died -Both have a mystery/thriller element to it -Both are concerned about harsh realities. In this case, racism and society. Don't let the furry look deceive you, Beastars is pretty great 

If you like the character design for Ai Hoshino, then you'll also probably like Mayumi Doujima's design. 

Both are advertised with an idol premise that becomes much more action packed. The plot expands to encompass much more than typical idols 

Both Series take a more serious approach in telling a story about idols. If you like Rubys perspective and her way into the Idol Industry, you may enjoy Shine Post. As it's focus lays in the same subject matter. Dealing with hardship in the industry, Getting through all the bureaucracy with the passion for being an idol and your own problems being all still significant in a world that seems so carefree and drenched in love, while you find out there's more to that. Both series are heavy on the drama aspect and have their own good way of showing the new life of the characters. Also the shows are beautifully animated and share some supernatural aspects to make the subject matter even more interesting from a storytelling standpoint. read more 

Main theme of both shows is idol culture, although each series presents it from different perspective. "Oshi no Ko" focuses on more realistic depiction of it by showing good and bad sides of it. It also includes believable interactions between people working in the idol industry. On the other hand, Back Street Girls: Gokudolls is more about presenting idols and entertainment industry in an extremely grotesque way and with the usage of dark humor. 

Somewhat dark relationship between lovely girl doing job servicing other people, while not genuinely feel what she express. The girl also lack of love and try to find it in somewhat unusual way. Both taking care a child to find the love she looking for. While HSL are more twisted, both offer similar feel in this aspect that i think worth checking for. 

TOP NOTCH TEAR JERKER 

Same vibe. Artists who want to succeed. Artistics school. Time plot / Reincarnation later. Various types of artists working together. 

On the one hand, Oshi no Ko is a thriller about show business, and G-Witch is a space opera with mecha. But if you look closely.. Both shows are edgy revenge anime for Gen Z that revolve around important bonds of siblings, heavy personality-altering emotional trauma due to parental murder, and sociopathic protagonists who are torn between "life as a human child" and the brutally crafted goal of getting revenge on someone. Both shows even share the same OP artist, with both songs sounding like a cross between a high-energy J-POP and theme from a cool action game. Of course, these shows are not mirror images and they have noticeable differences in both protagonists and attitudes towards romance, but they still overlap quite a lot in their themes and work with the emotional development of their MCs. read more 

- Both are deconstructions of their respective genres (Tutu looking more and Fairytales and Mahou Shoujo, while Oshi no Ko deals with idols and the entertainment industry). - Both start off seeming wholesome, before delving into some much darker themes (Oshi no Ko more so than Tutu). - Both are centred around music and dancing (Tutu focuses on classical music with ballet, while Oshi no Ko uses J-Pop with equally modern moves). - Both have elements of supernatural occurrences. - Both protagonists are forced to hide their secret lives from the public. 

Both "Oshi no Ko" and "Skip to Loafer" delve into the entertainment industry, providing a unique perspective on the challenges and dynamics within. In "Oshi no Ko," the focus is on the idol industry, exploring the relationships and struggles of aspiring idols. "Skip to Loafer" complements this theme by delving into the world of manga creation. Both series capture the intense competition, passion, and personal growth of their respective characters in pursuit of success in the entertainment world. If you enjoyed the behind-the-scenes aspects and character-driven narratives of one, you're likely to appreciate the other. 

Both Oshi no Ko and Idoly Pride has the similarities of the Main character's objectives on the first EPs. 

The mighty and terrifying power of the media, propelling some to fame, power and stardom. While Oshi no ko is a dark take on the world of the entertainment industry, Starship Operators is a sci fi tale with strong parallels to crowd funding. The titular characters are cadets on a starship whose planet is conquered by its powerful neighbor and surrenders immediately. But rather than turn themselves in with their superiors, the crew gets funding from the galactic news network to carry on an insurgency campaign that becomes a popular reality TV show. But having combat live-streamed is not all fun and games when the enemy is watching too… read more 

In the third ep we have a character managing to demonstrate an emotion that she herself believed she didn't have. And all this for singing her diary with all the instinct she had. 

Both anime are very plot driven but still showcase great character developement and analisys They also both incorporate supernatural elements with solving intriguing mysteries 

Both of these shows share the same kind of brooding protagonist that make other characters in the show shine but aren't recognized for it. Essentially, they're both "the Batman" of their show that help others but themselves and they lay low on trying to look good to the public.
