A list of Action anime, of the guns, fists and violence variety, where you don't have to think too hard nor focus on plot development and character development; if you're looking for outstanding stories these might not be for you.

Trying to give some action to action anime that may be lost to time or just haven't generated an audience, all in the while mixing in some big hitters that you might have missed.

Really underrated series of short movies by studio Bones.
Under the Dog
OVA, 2016, 1 ep Me:- Author:5
If you want action, this is 25 minutes of pure action. An underlying story that doesn't appear to relevant but none the less is an enjoyable enough experience to watch when you don't want to think too hard.

Very mild nudity near the end of the OVA.
Bucchigiri?!

Wimp of an MC gets to merge with a fighting spirit and fights to lose his virginity. Fairly comedic and has great fight scenes courtesy of MAPPA.

No Guns Life 2nd Season

I'm not sure if people had just missed this after season 1 however season 2 fixes a lot of the issues season 1 had and improves on it in almost every way.
Ajin Part 2 OVA
OVA, 2017, 1 ep Me:- Author:9
While watching the original ONA would help understand the world, this OVA can definitely be viewed on its own.
Under Ninja
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Slightly confusing plot and a gritty animation style but works in favour for some gruesome action scenes.

Strange and unique, character designs and monster designs are cool.
Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture

Cheap CGI might turn people off but missing out on an interesting story with good character development.
Tekken: Bloodline

Adaptation of the lore in the Tekken franchise, still a great watch if you don't know much about Tekken.
Youjuu Toshi

A little outdated now but still a fun watch. One of Studio Madhouse's earlier works and still has the Madhouse vibe to it.

Action packed martial arts scenes, lots and lots of fighting.

Mechas and Laserbeams flying everywhere accompanied by a good soundtrack.
Jikan no Shihaisha
TV, 2017, 13 eps Me:- Author:5
Chronos Ruler has an interesting power system and while the character development isn't amazing the action scenes make up for it.
Tatakae!! Iczer-1
OVA, 1985, 3 eps Me:- Author:6
a cheesy 80's OVA with Mechas and Aliens, lots of flashing guns and a post apocalyptic world. Short and sweet.
Heibai Wushang
ONA, 2015, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
Under the radar, if you're into Chinese/East Asian mythology this is a great show for that.
Shin Kujakuou
OVA, 1994, 2 eps Me:- Author:4
While the story is quite non-existent the visuals for a 90's OVA are top drawer and if you're looking for something to turn you're brain off to this is a good choice.
Choujin Gakuen Gowcaizer: The Voltage Fighters
OVA, 1996, 3 eps Me:- Author:6
While this isn't a great anime what it does right it does well. With it being a 90's anime the action scenes can feel a bit outdated with lots of epilepsy inducing scenes but overall I quite enjoyed it. Nudity and lots of unnecessary bouncing breasts warning.
