Gekai Elise
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:4
A "redemption" story of an already perfect person undoing a mistake she made in her previous life (of her previous life...). Despite being a bit of a Mary Sue, the protagonist gets more characterization in her introduction than the majority of isekai protagonists, and one has a pretty good idea of who she is before the transition. The premise of multi-reincarnation sounds rather dumb and unimaginative, but will see how it plays out. The visuals are very bad, it looks like plastic and the movement is clunky. Even if the story ends up half-decent, the lackluster presentation will likely still be enough to drop this one.
Gekkan Mousou Kagaku
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:4
Erratic comedy about three idiots running a magazine shop. The plot is vague for now, it might center around adventure but given it has a main location (magazine publisher) it seems contradictory. The characters are hunted by an organization of sorts, and there are mythical stones that let people transform into animals. It's a lot of random ideas thrown together. The animation is subpar, the music is annoying and the directing is chaotic to the point of it being a pain to keep up with what's going on. It reminds me a lot of Concrete Revolution, trying so hard to be unique and quirky and throwing in so many random ideas that it ends up being an exhausting clusterfuck.
Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern

Dumb but fun mecha action where multiple countries team up to fight against "an unknown enemy" in giant mechas that apparently have personalities or whatever... it's very braindead but fully aware of it. Despite the mechas being in CGI, it's well-hidden enough to not be too bothersome and the action scenes benefit from awesomely over the top maneuvers. It also has one of the most awesome (insert) songs of the season. Only downside so far is the characters which seem unremarkable. It's also questionable how long the mindless action can entertain before getting stale.
Pon no Michi
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:3
Cute girls doing cute things. Not as screechy and retarded as K-On but equally as boring and very referential. Faces of girls will distort at times to look like Kaiji or some random GAR anime, but not nearly extreme enough to see it as anything more than lazy referential comedy (it's not even funny). The episode didn't seem to know if it wants to be ridiculous or relaxing and thus fails at both. At first I thought it would be a Quintuplets wannabe and while that might be true in terms of designs, the nature of the characters and presentation might be more similar to Bocchi (although I haven't seen Bocchi so I might be wrong there).
Ore dake Level Up na Ken
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
Blatant videogame world with, in typical korean fashion, a protagonist that is unfairly victimized by the system. At least there is no one-dimensional bad guy (so far) and the two main characters shown thus far are likeable enough. Animation and sound are fine, though most of the focus is obviously on the action scenes. Non-action scenes are static and the bland designs of the world, monsters and characters do not help. The first episode ended on an effective cliffhanger, and while the way it will continue is clear I still wanna see how it's gonna happen and how it will affect the characters.
Dungeon Meshi
TV, 2024, 24 eps Me:- Author:4
Saving sister plot is just an excuse to show food porn. Characters are acting as mouthpieces with their only purpose being to explain where to get food, how it's made, how it tastes, and so on. Production values are above average, characters are expressive in their designs, the animation is smooth and the colors are not too saturated. Music is mostly whimsy orchestra with subtle timing with the animation, but nothing too noticeable. Overall it's good resources wasted on food porn meant to serve as relaxation for overworked NPCs, there likely won't be anything interesting or challenging in here.
Bucchigiri?!
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:4
About a loser protagonist who has the life goal of losing virginity with the help of a sarcastic wish-fulfilling genie. It's one of those "I'm not like other girls" type shows where it tries very hard to be unique by having a twist here and there and by giving all characters and the surroundings so much random color combinations that it looks like someone dropped a canister of paint on the cels. The way characters act and talk is also eccentric and weird for the sake of weird, like it's trying to become a meme like Jojo. Storywise it might turn into a power-fantasy or it might "subverse" that expectation and make the protagonist the butt of all jokes. With the way it tries to be unique I can see the latter happening more than the former, but will see.
Sengoku Youko: Yonaoshi Kyoudai-hen
TV, 2024, 13 eps Me:- Author:6
Very oldschool type show, reminding me of things like Inuyasha or Rurouni Kenshin. The characters are distinct and rich in personality and background. The story is vague for now but seems to be of the journey + episodic battle type. The visuals are very solid and consistent, with animation quality peaking during battles without breaking the visual identity of the show. The music has a subtle eastern vibe to it and the sound effects give attacks a mythical note. The only shortcoming of the presentation is that the colors are a bit bland and the character designs a bit generic, but that's nitpicking.
Metallic Rouge
TV, 2024, 13 eps Me:- Author:5
Obligatory cyberpunk wannabe that turns out mindless action rather than smart commentary on the relationship between humans and technology. The animation is good and the fights are dynamic as expected from Bones, but the designs are a bit lacking, especially the robot ones. The sound design is minimalistic, there are a lot of scenes with no BGM and when there is music it's good. The colors are also good, not too bright and not too dark, making for a solid atmosphere all around. There isn't much to say about the characters, they seem either too simplistic or like cyberpunk clichés.
Meiji Gekken: 1874
TV, 2024, 10 eps Me:- Author:3
Pseudo-historical fantasy schlock that tries to be serious but suffers from bad production values and tone-deafness. The first episode is a setup for the protagonist joining the police but the protagonist is barely shown. Instead the episode mostly focuses on vague political intruigue of the elite regarding the war that I don't care about. The visuals look like plastic and the animation is poor, thus it's hard to take the show as seriously as it wants to be taken. There is also fantasy elements in it that contradict its supposed goal of being a serious story about war. The music is either unnoticable and when it is noticed it's mostly for how unfittingly hyper it tries to be when the animation is far too trashy and the setting far too realistic (outside of the random fantasy elements) to take advantage of it.
Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:3
Poor girl having to share a house she inherited with 3 hot demon guys (how tragic...). The three guys are basically boy band members, one is shy, one is cheeky and one is cool, while the girl is the typical shojo straight-man who complains about everything. The story is unclear so far, first impression is that they live together and occasionally some demons attack and the three boys have to protect the girl while she takes care of the housework. The boys also have a demon form (dog-/catboys) that they can enter by kissing the protagonist or something. Visually it's fine but not noticeable outside of the colorful fujoshi designs for the boys.
