- manga focusing on hearing disability and the difference in experiences of hearing people and hard of hearing people

- the main characters and side characters are all really well developed. ryuu is best boy

- literally only a BL because the author accidentally published it in a BL magazine. the early parts are pretty light on romance but there’s a lot more later on

- honestly I would recommend it just for the focus on hearing impairment. the romance is an added bonus to me

- two boys with a shared love of movies go on a summer tour of film locations

- one of my favourites. the vibes are just so good

- no nsfw, although the sequel ‘Kimi to Natsu no Naka’ has non-explicit nsfw

- I’d recommend pretty much everything from this author

- the first volume was serialised in a seinen magazine and there’s no romance. serialisation switched to a bl magazine from the second volume onwards

- warning for gore and several nsfw scenes

- a boy’s best friend goes missing in the mountains for a week, but when he returns, something else has taken over his body

- supernatural horror

- super intriguing and unique, everything from the art to the pacing maintains the eerie vibe of this manga

- four high school boys being stupid and gay

- due to censorship it’s not heavily romantic but it’s still cute

- thanks to the anime you can actually listen to the band’s music! it’s on Spotify etc. under the band name Given

- really good but really heavy story

- has some of the best world building I’ve seen in a manga

- the romance isn’t really explicitly acknowledged but it’s definitely there

- a high school boy, through a hilarious series of misunderstandings, accidentally ends up confessing to the male crush of the girl he likes

- misunderstandings as a plot device done right, and the art style is perfect for the comedic tone

- highly recommended if you’re looking for something lighthearted and fresh

- humans vs vampires

- I know this isn’t technically bl but like. come on. there’s only so many times you can say “I’d rather die than live without you” and blush when you’re talking to each other (among other things) before it starts feeling a little gay

- the writing of the female characters is not great, and the plot is… something. but it’s entertaining

- two men living with their pet bunny making delicious food together

- has a tiny bit of drama but is mostly wholesome

- an immortal man and the mermaid he is ‘married’ to part ways so that the mermaid can search for the remaining members of his kind and a cure to immortality. they reunite sixty years later in the year 1930, but the mermaid seems to be hiding something…

- has an interesting plot, good world-building and characters, and a nice balance of comedy and angst

- an old man mc? in MY bl? it’s more likely than you think

- has a lot of smut. and tentacles. so… yeah

- friends with benefits to lovers. the two mcs are in the same jazz band so there’s also a focus on music

- surprisingly wholesome considering how their relationship starts out

- doesn’t have any explicit nsfw scenes, but has a lot of implied nsfw

- food and family

- really heartwarming

- two guys who parted on bad terms as kids reunite as high schoolers

- cat!! there’s a dog too

- zombie apocalypse

- the first chapter is a separate story from the rest of it and I’m personally not a fan of it, but I like the second story

- warning for noncon, nsfw, and gore in the first chapter. warning for nsfw, gore, incest, pedophilia, probably some other stuff that I’m forgetting about in the second chapter onwards. yeah i’d probably never recommend this to anybody I know personally, and I would definitely not read it in public

- a god thrice fallen from heaven forms an unlikely bond with a greatly feared ghost king

- originally a novel but has a manhua (with gorgeous art) and a donghua

- get yourself someone as devoted to you as Hua Cheng is to Xie Lian

- follows the lives of the two main characters from high school to their adult lives

- pretty much a bl classic at this point

- has a lot of sequels

- really heartwarming

- wow they actually communicate!!

- has nsfw in last two chapters

- surprisingly good plot considering the fact that it’s like 40% smut
