Both are harem shows, which the main guy is your typical ordinary boy, until an encounter with a girl. In both shows, the girls are not human, both shows involve chick battle actions, and especially in both shows, the "kiss" is an important factor.
In Sekirei, the kiss is the "contract" and the power boost, while in DAL, the kiss is the power seal

In essence, both series involves a normal main male protagonist who gets caught up with a not-so-normal girl. That girl has superhuman powers but at the same time naive about the world around her.
In both series, there's other girls who seems to be interested in the main guy thus causing drama and stirs up misunderstandings. There's also action, drama, comedy, and ecchi.
Both series' main male protagonist also have similar personalities as they put others' will being above their own.
Both have a harem of girls with superpowers.
And in both anime there is a guy that has to kiss those girls to add them to his harem.
A kind but initially unpopular male lead befriends powerful supernatural girls, causing him to get caught up in plenty of ecchi and harem situations.

normal guy is saving girls by kissing them to seal/give power to them and he has to deal with living with them after said kiss making life more difficult.
One guy with many girls... though something very unique from the girl's side. The main male character has suddenly caught up in a situation where they saw a girl with unique abilities. A male character mostly "kissed" them where a supernatural phenomenon occurs, and will follow their partner wherever they go.
Date A Live, is followed by a boy in high school, where the girls have a destructive nature around the planet. When kissed, their powers were sealed inside of them. Sekirei follows a college student, who found the girls in a competition around the city. When kissed they are "winged" and joining the competition.
Both are part of the harem genre and pretty much all the girls have super powers. However, Date a Live's main character requires the girls to fall in love with him while Sekirei's main character just makes them fall in love with him naturally.

SIMILARITIES:
*They both revolve around a race of mysterious female aliens (Sekirei/Spirits) who are scorned by society in one way or another.
*The male lead (Minato/Shido) is really awkward with girls and can add the aliens to his harem using a kiss.
*The main heroine (Musubi/Tohka) is very strong, eats a lot and is generally not very bright but at times surprisingly insightful.
*The main villain (Minaka/Isaac) is a white-haired sociopath who runs a shady corporation and frequently screws with the aliens for his own twisted amusement.
*The second alien to be added is a little girl (Kusano/Yoshino).
*They're both lighthearted comedies for the most part but are also very serious

Trashy harem with girls who have supernatural powers, and the MC has to kiss them to do something about those powers.

In both shows, the main character which is a man has to win over the hearth ot a lady(ies) in order to become stronger.
While in sekirei the main character tries to survive, in date a live, he tries to save a girl, and the world with it

Very similar harem shows that involve the protagonist kissing different people to awaken/seal their supernatural powers. Also similar is the main cast of characters, most of them really likeable, with all of the standard harem tropes covered.
